Yeah, but I don't want to spend my whole life in school either ^-^; I'm 24 already I'm not getting any younger! I've even thought of being a mechanic (for cars) when our car was having issues, it only takes 1-2 years to study and its pretty needed job so might be fairly easy to get work, plus I could fix my own cars!

Honey, I am almost 25... I've been in school since I was 18 and I have no degree yet. My mom went back to school when I started HS, and has been going slowly ever since, she got her AA, and is now working towards her 4 year degree, but by the time she gets it she will have been in school for over 12 years, if I am doing my math right. Nothing wrong with being in school for awhile, as long as you are doing it for you, that's ALL that matters.

If I can, I would like to spend my whole life in school.
But alas, I have to work to get money. I can still learn without being a full time student.

I've been kinda going since I Was 16, but not really - just a few classes here and there in HS, but I only two two classes between 16 and when I graduated at 18. So I'm not really counting that. I just feel like I'm stupid as I'm taking so long. But see I've been going solid - full time student for 6 years, no degree, way too many units with no stupid freaking degree. My mum has been at her degree now for over 10 years. She's been going part time though. I won't be getting my degree till basically
10 years - STRAIGHT - in school with really no breaks... -.- I'm sick of this, I feel like those who graduated from HS with me, or who're younger who're already done, talk down to me because they think I'm stupid... Because I'm taking FOREVER to get a degree that should have only taken me 4 years....

Well, you will have wasted all those years if you just give up.
Believe me, I am feeling the same way. The closer I get to my degree, the further away it feels; and my friend just graduated with the same degree - she is 23.

I didn't say that I'm going to give up... just saying that I am sick of people making me feel stupid.

You aren't stupid, Nemo. Sometimes it just takes others longer to get through college. I've probably still got another year or two before I even get my Associates. You can do it!

Doesn't stop me from feeling like they talk down to me and act like I am stupid because of it. -.-

I will not even be getting my AA... -.- I had to transfer before getting it because my school was cutting classes and wasn't offering any classes that I needed to get the stupid last class to get the degree, and now people go "Why did you transfer without getting your degree?" REALLY?! GAH!

*bangs her head into a wall* I'm just pissed off at life right now... nothing I do seems right... I'm always stressed and I feel like breaking down crying way too often... T_T I can't do this... and nothing I do to try to rid myself of stress always fails... I can't do this. T_T

You're not stupid just because you've got go a degree. Exams prove nothing only that you can do exams.

You CAN do this Nemo! I understand you've hit a rough patch in your life, but it will go away soon enough.

The last month is pushing me to the brink of insanity... and nothing I do can get rid of the stress, and worry... T_T Jumping in running and not stopping... I've not missed a single assignment or class, and on top of that I've been helping my roommate out, helping her with her dog, and going to appointments, trying to keep her calm with something that she doesn't even know what's going on - she went into surgery on Tuesday (8 hour surgery), and who knows if/when she'll be coming back. I'm overly stressed and have been breaking down crying without warning. I'm 7 hours from home... and my parents want to help but can't. we don't have the money to fly me home, and I'm homesick on top of all of this....

And that's just the stress that my life has been causing (past month alone) my stress has been going on like this... for over 6 or more months now... the last month has been the worst though. I don't know if I can do this... Not like doing anything drastic, I'm not suicidal, but I am just not sure if I can handle all of this right now. :( I don't handle change all that well, yet here I am, having to handle all new things. T_T And I am hating it.

llonka: Then why has it has been so stressful for so long, if it is just a simple rough patch... this isn't just a rough patch and honestly I am not sure I can do this... I just want to go home. T_T And my parents can't afford to fly me home till Christmas.

That's how I am too, I worry about what is going on in say an hour or two, instead of the whole day/week. Otherwise I just get too stressed out. Seems to help with school work too.
