I'm working on a Riddler Costume for a charity social. It's going to be fun.

I have nothing in the pipe currently, although I wanna try and get that Drunk Burnie cosplay together before Neko, if I can.
edit: although, apparently, I can do a pretty decent inadvertent Grumpy Cat gijinka.

So, according to the title change(lol), I'm trying to hit Anime Mid-Atlantic this year. I guess I should start getting things together for that, huh.

It was done enough for me to wear it to the event but I have a whole list of things I want to add/change on it. Despite that I won best costume and 2 passes to see an advanced screening of The Avenger Age of Ultron. :D

I was all excited for the fact that there was gonna be a new con in Norfolk next year, and then I found out it was going to be a Ryan Kopf* con.
Then I was all "NOPE".
(* (supposedly) pretty slimy guy who runs cons and did some (allegedly) messed-up stuff. . Google his name and "Black Materia" for some mildly interesting reading. )

How did you hear about it? I don't really pay much attention to the people that put on the cons, only guests and friends that go there.

I read about the guy months ago. But when I checked the website, I was thinking that the name "Black Materia" looked familiar, at least in regards to conventions.

Its something to keep an eye out for for the future cons I go to. I don't think he's done any in Canada, but who knows. I hate when a prominent members of any community makes the rest look bad. Anime and Comic book fans get enough flak never mind having to deal with someone like that. :(

Updating because AMA was pretty good, aside from hotel drama in the early morning of the Sunday of the con. I want to go back next year, because Otakon? PFFFFFFFFFT. Not at a hundred bucks at-door. NOPE.
Also in the planning stages of getting together a Drunk Burnie Burns cosplay for Nekocon...

Yeah seems all the cons I attend have raised fees this year and put in more rules for the costume contests. It's like...I just want to have fun and dress up. Whatever happened to "Those with a legit costume get half off on ticket." Why would I pay so much just to look at dealers tables (I can find cheaper online) and artists (most of them aren't even pro-level) >:( NOPE. And on top of that they're talking a fee for the costume contest... OH HELL NO. *point to the door* out now!
It sucks because all the conventions are run by the same company in my area so they have a monopoly. There's been talk of another one coming in for a few year but until then it seems they want to gouge us. My sister and I really wanted to go this year. :( Stupid money you ruin everything. *kicks it*

Omg! I forgot about this thread!
Have I ever posted here?
If anyone is going to the Stan Lee Comikaze in Oct/Nov I am planning to attend! It's in Los Angeles. c:
Anyway,
I'm working on a cosplay this year that will be completely from scratch. It's Lady Lucille Sharpe's nightgown from Crimson Peak.
I have questions about sewing and gathering, if in case anyone here knows a lot about the easiest way to gather fabric!

Now that I'm on a computer I can finally post the costume I wanted to work on. :D
I'm pretty excited.
@Shadami
Maybe there are some local comic cons you can attend? Usually local comic cons are much cheaper than the really big ones like SDCC or the Stan Lee comicon.
They are also pretty fun too! :D You can get great deals on comics and there's a lot of rare and interesting items that you can buy. I bought (and actually regret buying) the original cartoon series of Thor on DVD from the 60s or something.

There's no cons that was near me though ^^;;; their might be when I move. But i still kind of doubt it. I had to go 60+ miles if i wanted to just go see a concert. Country living :3

Ohhh, I see. You are in a remote area. :P
I live pretty far out there too, the only cons nearby are in the city. Dx But it's not too crazy of a drive! :D
My aunt is a seamstress and since I was a kid she's been making me dresses and stuff. Recently she gave me a sewing machine so I can make my own stuff, x.x
Sewing is serious business! I'm not even that good at it!
