My aunt "taught" me how to thread a machine. And mine thankfully comes with numbers that tell you where to put the thread in order so you can sew.
I actually accidentally broke the little part that holds the spool upright so you can sew. D: So I have to glue that back on and then I'll be ready to sew again. I'm just hoping to whatever deity is out there that my aunt doesn't find out I broke the machine. x.x
I suck at sewing too. I never use a pattern though, I just freestitch and learn through trial and error, hoping that my project will come out looking awesome. XD Sometimes it does, sometimes it looks terrible.
i don't use patterns. I just can't understand them. hehe.. i should try to actually follow a pattern at some point though. It'd be better for the various projects i work on if I did that.
For me, I just look at something I want to sew and I measure myself and I just cut and free stitch.
I don't even use the "practice" fabric. I just go straight to the material I want to use and sew that up!
i am god awful. i can't even thread a stinking sewing machine without help. and i was gifted 2!!!What am i gonna do with this machine. i is failure at sewing.
i haven't even heard of any cons in my area though. at most we have some magic the gathering events.
check animecons.com -- depending on where you are, you might be able to find SOMETHING, even if it's a one-day event someplace.
Hopefully my green circle lenses are still in good condition. x.x
I haven't worn them in a while and sometimes when you don't wear them in a while they get kind of funky!
I use to have a cosplay addicts avi thread on here. But because i'm not active enough i forget about dead lines to get avi's in & stuff. It was cool well it lasted lol.
I've got an idea for a new avi cosplay in case there's another MeneCon this year; I just have to make sure that the items are th^H^H^H^H^H^H^H^exist...
(okay, seriously? no strikethrough tags on Mene? what the actual what.)
Oh yay Oh yay oh yaaay!! I cannot remember if I've posted in here yet (I've really been meaning to, if I haven't already!). Can I post links to my Cons?? Also, I am a beginner at cosplaying. A perpetual beginner. Because I've "started" cosplaying on and off since 2007 haha. But this year, I'm planning a serious cosplay for a con next month >u< I'm going as pregnant Rose Quartz from Steven Universe since I'm totally preggers haha. :3 <3 <3
Have fun! I love cosplaying myself.
I was going to cosplay this year as Lady Loki for Free Comic Book Day, but I recently got a gig to sing at Prince's memorial party in the city. I'm a little bummed because I looked forward to posting pictures of my Lady Loki costume, but whatever.
LADY LOKI OMG <3 I have adored every Lady Loki I have ever seen. Loki is my favourite ever <3 I hope your gig goes well, though! Surely you'll get another good opportunity to be Lady Loki soon :3
I would love to share some of my pics of Lady Loki last year. 8D
SPOILERX
I sewed that cap and those fur things and green parts around my legs.
The helm was hard but easy to make, I made two because the first one, (which I ended up using) was too heavy and kept sliding off my face with just carpet tape alone. So I made a second one, but it was too light and it didn't fit my face that well. So I just taped my first helm to my wig and that solved the sliding issue. Lol.
