Lavender blinked.

"I'm sorry, Dr. Banner, I shouldn't be complaining at you like this," she said. "I'm just so used to being able to help and do things that just sitting around like this makes me crazy."

"I know the feeling," Bruce admitted. "And Bruce is fine." He glanced at a clock before he started getting things out of the fridge. Steve would be up soon, and Clint and Natasha usually got up fairly early, so he figured he may as well start on breakfast.

Lavender watched.

"Need any extra hands?" she asked. "I'm not Lessa, but I'm not half bad in the kitchen."

"Sure," Bruce said after a moment, glancing over at her. "If you want to grab the eggs?"

Lavender nodded and got the eggs out of the fridge. She knew better than to try to summons those with magic, it never ended well where eggs were concerned.

Bruce got down the rest of the things he needed for eggs and pancakes. "Ah, I think there should be some sausage in the fridge as well. Should probably make that too."

Lavender nodded and looked in the fridge.

"I don't see sausage, but I see bacon," she said, pulling out the two packages of bacon. "No, wait, there it is," she added, grabbing the package of sausage as well.

"Even better. Can you cook bacon? I always make mine too crispy for everyone else." Bruce looked over at her with a raised eyebrow.

"I can cook bacon," Lavender replied, nodding. She grinned. "I can get it crispy without burning it. I hate it when the fat is still chewy, so I make sure it's all completely crispy."

"Leave some a little chewy," Bruce advised. "Or Clint will make faces and chew obnoxiously and make himself a pain." But he was smiling a bit, clearly fond of the archer.

"Will do," Lavender said, hunting around for a cast-iron pan. Those were the best for bacon. Once she found one and a set of tongs, she started working on the bacon.

Bruce cooked the eggs and pancakes quietly next to her, fairly relaxed and actually a bit surprised at how relaxed he was with her.

Lavender cooked Clint's bacon first, setting it aside on its own plate, and then properly cooked the rest of it. It turned out perfect and crispy the way bacon should be, and she put the two plates on the table. She grinned a bit and, with a quickly murmured 'Inscriptus Iluminata,' she wrote 'Clint's Bacon' in the air over the smaller plate with her wand, with an arrow pointing to it.

Bruce snorted at that. "Well, that's one way to make sure everyone knows," he said, looking amused. Especially since he could hear people getting up at the smell of food.

Lavender just grinned and went to set out plates and silverware so they were ready when people came in.

Clint came in first, grinning when he saw his bacon and stealing it so he could eat while it was still warm. Steve came in shortly after so he could get some food, barely even glancing over when Natasha came in too.

Lavender grinned as Clint took his bacon, and then backed off so the others could get theirs. She briefly wondered why an unopened box of Pop Tarts had ended up on the table, until Thor walked in, grinned widely, and took the whole box. Then he paused, made up a pair of plates, and left again.

That was pretty much a normal morning, so Bruce didn't think much of it. He even got Jarvis to pester Tony into coming up to get some too.

Elsewhere, Loki glanced over as the door opened. Thor came in with the two plates, looking somber and cautious.

"Breakfast, I assume?" Loki asked, watching Thor step carefully into the room.

"Yes, brother. It's good, even if it's not what we're used to." Thor set a plate down on the table, blinking when he found another plate already there, a few pastries still left on it.

"Where did you get these?" He poked one of them curiously.

Loki waved a hand.

"The medium," he replied. "She was of a similar opinion; she felt I needed sustenance, albeit in the form of pastries." Although he found he couldn't object; he rather liked pastries. He had an impressive sweet tooth, given the opportunity.

Thor blinked again, looking at him for a few moments. He knew of Loki's sweet tooth of course; they had grown up together.

"Well, then, brother, I wonder how much this medium knows. Or if it was just a lucky guess." Thor grinned. "I see you've made a dent in them already."

"They were acceptable," Loki replied. Meaning that he liked them more than he thought he would.

Thor knew that well enough, and he grinned. Maybe he'd go hint that she should bring more pastries.

"Are you only here to comment on my continued state of existence?" Loki asked after a moment, looking at Thor.
