"There's nothing going on," Lavender insisted, hiding behind her mug.

"Not at the moment," Lessa agreed with a brief grin. "But I think there will be."

"What makes you so sure?" Lavender asked. "Really, there's nothing going on."

"You seem to forget a few vital ways I can tell," Lessa said dryly. "I think I'm in a better position to talk about feelings."

"I swear, there's nothing going on," Lavender said, turning even redder. "I don't even think he notices me like that."

Lessa rolled her eyes at that and shook her head. Okay, fine, if she wanted to be in denial, Lessa wasn't going to burst her bubble.

Yet.

Lavender tried to stop blushing as she finished her tea and Scourgified the mug.

"How was your visit with Loki?" she asked, changing the subject.

"Fine. Restful." Lessa smiled a bit. "It's almost the only place in the tower that really feels quiet."

"I bet," Lavender said. "With so many people in the tower, it must be nice to find a quiet spot."

"It is," Lessa said with a sigh. "Fortunately the group hasn't really gotten into any arguments yet."

"They get along remarkably well," Lavender agreed. "Though I suppose it helps that they get to blow off steam so often."

"Indeed." Lessa shrugged. "I wonder how much longer Coulson wants us to stay here? I mean, there's Asgardian stuff involved, we won't be much help with that."

"I don't know," Lavender said. "It's not exactly either of our fields, but there is magic involved still, so we might end up staying because of that."

"True. Well, we'll find out." Lessa shrugged. "If we are going to be staying much longer, though, I think I'll ask Tony to install a dinner bell."

"Doesn't the AI have speakers all over the place?" Lavender asked. "Just have him announce dinner, that's all."

"He does that already, but it doesn't always work when Clint is somewhere in the vents and Tony's blasting music in his workshop." Lessa rolled her eyes.

"He controls the music in the workshop, I know this for a fact," Lavender said. "But I don't know what to do about the vents."

"That's why I want a dinner bell," Lessa said with a sigh. "Jarvis, if you would please?"

"Of course," Jarvis said, alerting everyone else that dinner was ready.

Lavender watched as everyone filtered in for dinner. She nodded to Tony and Bruce as they came upstairs, and made sure to stay well out of the way of Natasha.

Lessa let everyone get their own dinner, taking her food and going to find a spot to sit.

Bruce got his own food and sat at the table, raising an eyebrow at Lavender.

Lavender saw the look, and was getting up to join him before she realized it. Getting herself a plate, she sat down with him at the table.

Bruce smiled a little and settled in to eat and chat with the team. It was normal and nice, and it gave him something else to focus on besides the current villain.

Lavender kept wanting to talk about magic with them, but she knew they wanted to keep it under wraps, so she didn't. She did, however, make mental notes on what she wanted to chat about, and then joined in the conversation again.

Dinner was noisy and a bit chaotic and normal, and afterwards Clint declared it movie night. So everyone obligingly trooped into the other room to argue over movies.

Lavender was surprised when even Tony and Bruce settled in for movies, and she followed the crowd into the living room.

"Movie night?" she asked Bruce as she sat down. "This is a thing, I take it?"
