"If you'd like to stay, sure," Lilac replied, surprised again. She would have thought he would be busy for the next couple days, at least.

Bryn nodded and pulled himself up onto the sand.

"How is your friend faring?" he asked.

"Okay. Bored." Lilac shrugged. "She said she's doing okay, though." She shifted a bit so she could keep him in sight.

Bryn nodded.

"And Allyn is much the same, I suspect," he said.

"I'd guess so," Lilac said quietly. "Didn't talk to him. But he looked okay."

"Good to know," Bryn said, nodding. "Allyn is strong. He can handle it."

Lilac just nodded. She didn't know the other merman all the well, but she knew Primrose would make sure he was okay too. And hopefully some better alternative would be thought of soon.

Bryn was quiet for a moment, and then looked at her.

"Would you like to join me for a swim?" he asked.

Lilac hesitated for a moment before she nodded. "Alright," she agreed. "Just give me a moment." She slid into the water with a little splash and tossed her clothes back up on her deck, although she left her bra on. Then she let her legs flow seamlessly into her tail, her gills forming along her ribs as she moved a little farther out into the water. She didn't have flashy fins or anything like he did, though.

Bryn smiled a bit and followed her out. He didn't mind that she had far fewer fins; to be honest, more fins sometimes got in the way. And Lilac really was very lovely, he had to admit.

Lilac relaxed after a bit. Going for a nighttime swim was always nice, and he was actually being very approachable, something she hadn't expected at all. So she flipped over onto her back to watch him for a bit, swimming lazily.

Bryn just swam with her, occasionally turning lazy circles and rolls. It was nice to just swim for a while. And he had to admit he enjoyed the company.

After a little while, Lilac moved into a little kelp forest she and Prim had found a while back. It was well out of the way of the mer-city, closer to swim to from home, but it was great for games of tag.

Curious, Bryn followed. He grinned a bit at the kelp forest. It was a good size, and looked very healthy.

Lilac darted around the kelp forest, checking on some of her favorite hiding spots and scaring some fish into schooling away. She grinned at that.

Bryn had to smile at that, too, and went into the kelp forest as well. It was cool and comfortable amidst the kelp, and he habitually curled around some of it.

Lilac swam back over near him and stretched out, wiggling a bit before she settled back near the sand, one hand curled in some kelp to keep her where she was.

"I see it's been too long since you allowed yourself to relax like this," Bryn observed as he watched her settle on the sand.

Lilac flushed a bit. "I don't like coming out alone," she admitted. "And things have been busy lately."

"Understandable," Bryn replied, nodding. Gods knew he understood about being busy. He made a mental note about perhaps making it a habit to come out and offer her some company, until the business with the aquarium was resolved.

Lilac relaxed again, watching a few nocturnal fish swim around. But it was quiet and restful out there at the moment, meaning she could relax and not have to worry about things like sharks.

Bryn settled next to her.

"I think you've been amongst humans too long if you feel you still need to have this on," he said, reaching out and pulling at a strap of her bra teasingly. "Their extreme modesty must be rubbing off on you." He grinned a bit, playful.

Lilac blinked before she laughed quietly. "If I didn't know better I'd say you just wanted me to take it off," she replied, flicking her tail. But he was probably onto something there; she did spend a lot of time pretending to be human, after all.

"I would never presume to tell a lady what to do," Bryn replied, still grinning a bit. "My mother would have my head."

Lilac laughed quietly. "Sounds like my kind of woman," she agreed, grinning.
