I'm not looking forward to going to work at all tonight. Skipped out last Thursday because earlier that day my kitty died, and I was not feeling up to doing anything other than eating chocolate and bullshitting with friends that night. Manager'll probably be whiny tonight, but scheiss I like my cat more than you people....

I was about to say, "Hm, I wonder how bosses feel about letting employees miss over pet deaths?" Oh, Capitalism. *smiles and shakes head*

My boss didn't even want to let me miss work when my grandfather died...
She was like, "You need to find someone to work for you." And I was like, "... that's your job." (*is too much of a wussy to actually say that to her, though...*)

My parents know about all of my adventures online. :D
I tell them because otherwise they think I spend my time online doing bad things. :s

They don't trust me for some reason!

I am sorry for your loss of your kitty!
Losing a pet can be harder than losing human friends sometimes!

My daughter had a teacher that was a real ass when she lost a friend who had been struck by lightning.
Daughter explained she was having a hard time because of this death...and teacher said "People die! Get over it!"
When I found out about this and tried to complain to the administration at the school, I was was told that my daughter was just looking for an excuse to not do her schoolwork!

*smiles and shakes head* Oh, Capitalist schools. That's really bad even for that, though. Someone higher up should've gotten those staff told!

My parents wish I, and sister, laughed as hard with them as we do with our Internet friends. Sister and I were both like, "Well, maybe you guys should be funny! I mean, you are funny, but you're funny in a bad way."
Other sister abandoned the joys of life, so she doesn't have an Internet life anymore.

@ Ava: That sounds like something my hometown's school district would do. They wanted to put me on meds for ADHD because I was acting out in class...with a teacher who put me in the corner for no good reason, other than to be used as the class scapegoat. Other kid mucks up? Me punished. Other kid beats up another? Me punished. I need to pee? Not allowed to use the bathroom and then yelled at when I pee all over myself and the chair and floor.

Public schools need to get their shit together. If I'm living in the States when I have kids, they're getting homeschooled. Cut right past all the bullshit.

@ Amane: I'm about as wacky around my real life friends as I am online. Well...the key words here are "around my friends". People I don't know; antisocial as fuck. Me+crowds=helpgetmeouttahereNOW

I am suuuuper quiet around even my friends IRL, but then they get started on a topic I'm interested in and I can't stop talking.

Public schools definitely suck.

I took my last three years of high school online and I feel like it was definitely the best choice for me. Many people would disagree and say that I was basically socially inept because of the online classes and lack of socializing. I have a friend who tries to tell me that I need to go out and social more because I am "so goddamn awkward".

But I really don't feel like public school was for me.

I feel like the public school system sets up kids to fail.

When I was a freshman I was in regular algebra and I didn't understand it. I kept trying to learn and as soon as I learned one thing, we'd quickly change to the next subject and when I asked my teachers to explain it in a different way so I could understand he basically looked at me and said, "What's there to not understand?". *facepalm*

I had a tutor in algebra and I was still getting D-. Finally when the next semester came around I tried to sign up for the slower algebra class (Concepts) and the damn school said that I was "too smart" for the slower algebra class... So basically, because I wasn't FAILING I was "too smart". So they'd rather have me in the regular math glass getting D-'s instead of being in the slower math class and getting Cs or even Bs.

It was bullshit and I complained to my guidance counselor about it, and she said that maybe I just needed a fidget to help me concentrate. Well, I tried it and it didn't help. I didn't have ADfuckingHD. I wasn't a "smart kid" but "couldn't concetrate" I honest to Goddess couldn't understand math and NO ONE was helping me understand. And when I tried to help myself by signing up for a slower class, they all said that I couldn't do it because I still "passed" regular algebra. :|

It was some bullshit.

When I have children, I plan to be very active in their education. I might start off with homeschooling when they are young, then eventually turning them loose to learn in a class environment.

Eugh...math...I don't have trouble with it or anything, I just...don't like it.

Though the being good at it actually gave me the opposite problem; my classmates either wouldn't pay attention or just not show up, so the teacher had to water it down to the slowest student, which usually wasn't even the person having the most trouble. No, it was the dumbass in the back of the class who slept or texted on his phone and was always going "can you explain that again?", sooo we never got anywhere.

Short story; I got frustrated as hell and banged my head on the desk not out of the class going too fast for me to understand, but going too slow.

*raises hand* Good at math; don't like learning it.

I used to say I don't like math at all, but… I have fun doing math I know how to do. No wonder fun Amane calls me a nerd and shoves me into lockers.

Naw. I never ate them often. It wasn't one of the main candies given to me. My main candies were Lifesavers, Jolly Ranchers, and milk chocolate Hershey's bars.
