yah she retuned after the event and then made comment about how the pain in her joints made it hard for her to replay on her keyboard.

That's true, but if she's in a lot of pain she might not be able to get on.

~brings red velvet cake and pours some tea~
odd topics?
Came home today and discovered the lower portion of our screen door fell out! It's needed repair for some time, but this is proving to be a great cat door! Spring is starting to appear and our kitties are very interested in being outside since it's warming up. I think we'll keep the door like this until bugs become an issue.

dont forget to treat them for fleas. I would hate for them to get worms from the fleas.

Yeah, make sure they get treated for fleas and such.
I'm not one to have my pets outside. I hate it when my mom let my cat go out on the back deck she had at her old house. I hope where she is now, she only lets Eli sit on the table in the back where there is a sun porch.
I grew up with a screened in front porch for the kitties to sit on in the summer.

mine really don't. I know they will try to walk out of the apartment.
Oh, when my dad and I first got the apartment we lived in after my parents split, Elijah did get out and walk around the building because it was a huge change for him and Naomi. Going from a house they could wander around and go up and downstairs, to an apartment. He just walked up stairs or went near the basement. I grabbed him and brought him back in.

We found all of these guys on our property 10+ years ago (all neutered shortly after we adopted them) and they are flea treated. Not only for their own sakes, but my son and I are allergic to flea bites. So, they are okay.
One hates being indoors so much he's torn down window blinds, gone through screens, and torn up carpeting to try to get outside. He's enormous and a love bug. That being said, we live in a rural area so they are far more safe roaming here than they would if we lived in a town or city.

One of the boys is declawed, but we found him that way. Honestly? They are safe. I'm 48 and have owned pets throughout my life, so I'm fairly certain my judgement is sound. If they were not safe outside, they would not go outside.

I babysat for a family who had a fenced in back yard and a nice enclosed back porch so in the warm weather the dog would be outside while they were gone. They put the dogs kennel on the back porch and had several bowls of water out as well.

Well, when we first moved here, there were very few residents in our subdivision. Suddenly, we were the proud parents of three adult strays - and that started happening in 2001 or so. When we found George, he was already neutered, declawed and at least 7yo. Someone just dumped him nearby, and we literally opened the front door one day and he walked in. Brand new house, so it was as if he was claiming us as his people.
Stitch was nearly feral and about 1yo. Found him hanging out with George on the roof of our van. Our daughter was really into Lilo and Stitch back then. He's still a bit shy around people, but always magically appears whenever someone needs a cuddle.
Max is more my daughter's cat. When we found him, you could see nearly every bone in his body through his fur. On top of that, he had an odd bump on one of his shoulders. The vet found a shotgun pellet in the wound. Since then, he's put on some weight and is the more chatty and curious of the 3 cats. He's also in charge of everything that goes on in the house.
What kind of pets do you have? We also have an Alaskan Husky we found at a local animal shelter and a pink toed tarantula.

I have one white cat that is a year and five months old. his is nutured but I will not declaw him. I would hate for him to one day get it in his head to go out side and get hurt. his name is Sabastion. my parents have one cat who is about 11 years old, she is a gray tabby that loves my dad. we found her at our old apartments as we were moving out. she was skin and bone when we found her.
and the house we now live in came with one cat who is part Siamese and part tabby. she was abused by some one in our neighborhood before we moved in. it took me two cans of tunifish and long nights to get her to accept being petted by humans again. and she is probabley 12 years old.

Sounds like you really love cats! Very sad about your kitty who was abused. Is she okay with pretty much everyone now or just you and your family?

we got the house about 11 years ago. but she is the only outdoor cat. so she still thinks of herself as wild. but we do keep an eye on her health. earlier this year we had to take her in the house which she HATES so that she could heal up from damage she had taken in a fight. We have tired to make her an indoor cat but she dose not want.

Kirin, do you want a pet or not feasible right now?
Lunna, we do go through periods when there are some tom cats around, so I know that is really worrisome. Our guys are just not as feisty as they used to be. Plus, Stitch kinda looks like a raccoon at a distance.
