"Yeah." He said with a smile. It was nice to have somebody to be with.

" It is . We should be able to travel a while longer, before we need to find a place for tonight." Jenna said. She knew they still had ways to go to till they got to the school.

"Hopefully we don't have any problems finding a place to stay." He commented as he ate his food.

A little girl, about seven, with bright blue eyes watched them through the restaurant window. She knew, as it was her gift, that these two were mutant. But how best to approach them. She was alone and didn't want to be alone anymore. She was also very scared of getting caught.

" I don't think we will. Just as long nothing happens before we get there. " Jenna said and saw the little girl outside. Those eyes were so blue and Jenna wondered if the girl was like them.

The little girl gasped at being caught staring. She turned and walked away from the window but not to far.

"Yeah." Kirin said. He was glad he wasn't molting.

" Kirin. Do you see the little girl outside. I have a feeling. " Jenna said in a whisper.

"I saw her, you think she's... special?" He asked. The waitress came and left the check. Kirin stood and paid for it.

Jenna nodded and hoped she was right. " It must be hard to be so young and have abilities" .Jenna thought sadly.

The little girl stood in the alleyway. She was scared. What if she was wrong.

Kirin headed outside with Jenna

Jenna got up from the booth and knew she needed to find the little girl. She went outside and looked all over until she found an alleyway. "Hello there. " She said to the girl.

The little girl kept her eyes on the ground. "Hello." She says softly.

Kirin stands next to Jenna. He wonders what they can do for this little girl.

" What's your name sweetie?" Jenna asked and wondered where the girl's parents were.

"Kasandra." She whispered.

"That's a very pretty name." Kirin said with a smile. He wondered where the parents were. Had Kasandra run away from home? It was a possiblilty.

" That is a pretty name. Where are your parents Kasandra?" Jenna asked feeling concerned.

"They didn't want me." She whispered. "They hate me."

" Why do they hate you sweetie?" Jenna said feeling sad.

"Cause I'm different. Like you." She looks up at her. "And you," She says turning her eyes on Kirin.

Jenna was saddened at this news." Do they know that you're different?" Jenna asked.

She nods. "But they refused to send me to those people who hate people like us." She said.

"Well would you like to come with us? We're going somewhere we can be safe." Kirin said.

The little girl chewed her bottom lip.

" We'll keep you safe from those monsters that hate us. " Jenna said and wondered if they should contact Kasandra's parents.

"Really?" She asked looking up at them.

Kirin scooped her up. "Yep."

Kasandra put her arms around his neck and lays her head on his shoulder.

Jenna smiled and glad Kasandra would be coming with them. " Are we ready to go? Kassie sweetie? Would you like anything before we go?" She asked.

"I am a little hungry." She whispered.

"What would you like to eat?" Kirin asked.

"Grilled cheese please."

"I'll go get that and meet you two in the car." He headed back into the diner.

" Need help into the seat Kassie? Also do you want to get anything from your parents house?" Jenna asked. She wanted to have the parents permission first before they left with Kassie.

"They kicked out. I don't want to go back there." She said firmly. "Ever."

Kirin soon came out with the order he had also gotten her a glass of water to drink.
