"Sure, sounds fine to me." Kyra shrugged a bit.

"Awesome. So, which direction?" Dean looked between the others.

"West," Runa suggested. "Since we're about as far east as the country goes." She paused for a moment. "Towards California, maybe? See what we come across along the way?"

"California. Awesome. We can visit Hollywood again." Dean grinned. "After breakfast." He figured Sam would find some kind of hunt along the way. They usually managed to, after all.

Sam snorted.

"Because last time went so well," he retorted to Dean, though he was grinning a bit. That made Runa pause.

"Oh, I hear a story there," she said, grinning. "Spill. What happened in Hollywood?"

"Just a kind of unexpected case that got us a sort-of cameo in a horror movie," Dean said with a grin. "We saved the writer's life."

"Really? That's it?" Kyra snorted. "Come on, there has to be more to it than that."

Sam grinned a bit.

"The writer actually did his homework, and had written an actual spirit-summoning into the script," he said. "It was pulling up ghosts from the production building's past, and we had to clean up the mess."

"...Seriously?" Kyra blinked. "Okay, that's a new one. I don't think I've ever heard of someone writing a spirit summoning into a script."

"Neither had we," Sam said. "But he did it. A couple people ended up dead before we could put a stop to everything." He smirked. "And I think Dean really liked being a production minion, you should have seen it."

"Shut up. There was free food, and I was just trying to blend in." Dean glowered at Sam.

Sam just grinned.

"Admit it, you liked it," he said. "You were totally into it."

"Bitch." Dean snorted at him and dug into his food as soon as it arrived. He was hungry now, dammit.

Kyra just snorted at them and shook her head.

"Jerk," Sam replied habitually, still grinning.

Runa rolled her eyes at the two.

"Anyways," she said as her food arrived, "it's settled? We're heading out towards the opposite coast?"

"Yeah. We'll see what we can find along the way." Dean spoke in between eating. At least he had some manners.

"Good plan," Runa agreed. She glanced at Kyra and grinned. "I'll keep an eye out for demons if you keep an ear out for angels."

"Done." Kyra grinned. "So far none in the area." Which was a good thing. She didn't really feel like dealing with any more angels.

"I haven't noticed anything on my end, either, so I think we can safely book it out of here after dinner," Runa replied.

A few days later, no disaster had struck and no one had tried to kill anyone else, despite being stuck in the Impala for the past few days. Fortunately, Sam had found a hunt, so they were all headed there to see what was going on.

"So what are we looking for?" Runa asked as she made sure her good skirt-suit was clean and pressed. "No omens, no smitings, so what? Is this actually a normal hunt?"

"Seems so," Sam replied. He pulled out the printout he'd run off. "Locals report a rash of strange weeds springing up in the center of town on the old public green. They didn't think anything of them at first, except that pulling them didn't seem to diminish the numbers, up until one of the plants grew a mouth and ate a small dog."

"Awesome." Dean snorted and shook his head, getting into a suit with some reluctance. "Runa, you and I will go talk to the cops. Sammy, you hit the library. See if you can find... anything."

"Alright," Runa said, grabbing her skirt suit and going into the bathroom to change quickly. She came back out in the sensible dark skirt and jacket with a slightly-more-daring burgundy shirt underneath. "Not the FBI today, though. Department of Agriculture makes more sense."

"I'll see what I can find out," Sam said. He looked at Kyra. "You with me?"

"Yeah," Dean agreed, straightening his tie with a grimace. He still hated suits. "You ready?"

Kyra nodded, grabbing her shoes and a jacket. "Sure. I don't mind helping research."

"As ever," Runa replied, grabbing her DoA badge and transferring a few essentials into a small leather clutch. She slipped her heels on and followed Dean to the car.

Dean dropped off Sam and Kyra at the library before he and Runa headed to the sheriff's department to start their investigation.

Kyra looked at the library and huffed before heading over to the section on agriculture and plants.

While Kyra looked at the agriculture books, Sam was delving into what plant-based lore he could find. There wasn't much, unfortunately.

In the center of town, Runa got out of the car and walked towards the cordoned-off area. She pulled out her badge and flashed it at the police.

"Agent Frost, this is my partner Agent Wilde, Department of Agriculture," she said. "What's going on here?"

"We're... not quite sure," the officer admitted after glancing at Dean's badge too. "These plants started growing a month or so back, which was fine, but then they started to grow more, and one almost looks like a Venus Fly Trap." He shivered a bit. He'd been the officer on call to investigate the eaten dog, which wasn't something he'd be forgetting anytime soon.

Kyra pulled out a couple books on various plants, including so called carnivorous plants, and went to go shove one at Sam.
