Gabriel just kept following her, waiting for her to tire herself out. He could keep it up a lot longer than she could, after all. He followed her clear across the US (he knew, he'd kept track), waiting for her to stop.

At that point Kyra huffed and jumped across to Europe, making a few smaller hops once she was over there in quick succession and hoping to lose him.

Gabriel was still able to follow her, although he skipped over the few smaller hops and caught up to her at the very end.

Kyra swore when she saw him and tried to hop again. This time she didn't get very far, just a hundred miles or so.

Gabriel followed and caught up to her again.

"Finished now?" he asked, watching her carefully.

"Unfortunately." Kyra scowled at him. "Why are you following me? Walking away from a conversation is usually a pretty good "I'm done" indication."

"Because we're not done," Gabriel said. "I want to know what exactly I did to you to deserve this treatment."

"You were sent to kill nephil before," Kyra said after a moment. "You did kill nephil before you defected and went Norse god instead."

"I had orders," Gabriel replied. "And I don't particularly like tangling with Michael over it. And I haven't killed nephil for a long time."

Kyra shook her head. "You're also a dick who enjoys messing with people far too much." She crossed her arms over her chest. It was a weak excuse at best, and she knew it.

"I can't say the word 'trickster' any more plainly!" Gabriel retorted. "Does anyone even hear me when I say that word anymore?"

Kyra growled at him again. "We hear you but that doesn't mean we have to like it," she snapped. Besides which, she just wasn't comfortable around him.

"Then why is anyone surprised when I indulge myself?" Gabriel asked. "Honestly, the last thing I did was to get Cas and Dean together."

Kyra just crossed her arms over her chest, glowering at him, unable to give him a good answer.

"Why don't you just go back to the others and I'll be back tomorrow."

"I don't think so," Gabriel said. "If you're going to stay, at least let me give you a good reason to."

Kyra eyed him warily. "How about not, I don't feel like being turned into a rabbit or something," she said.

"It's like you don't trust me at all," Gabriel said. "Actually, I had something a little different in mind, something a lot more pleasant for everyone involved."

"For everyone involved?" That caught Kyra's attention, and she raised her eyebrows at him.

"What, you think I would give you a distraction that wouldn't benefit us both?" Gabriel pointed out, grinning a bit.

"Yes," Kyra said blandly. "I think you would give yourself a distraction that would work well for you."

"Ah, but this is about you, sweets," Gabriel said with a grin. "I'm giving you an excuse to stay out for the night, remember?"

That grin made her nervous, but it was a different kind of nervous. "Yeah, the excuse is I'm taking a temporary overnight vacation in..." She looked around for the nearest road sign. "Somewhere in France, apparently."

"Well, then, if you're spending the night in France, might as well make it a good night," Gabriel said. Leaning over, he gave her a soft, mostly-chaste kiss.

Kyra blinked. Twice. Of all the possibilities she'd expected, that was not one of them.

"I... what?"

"What?" Gabriel asked. "Come on. You're attractive, I'm attractive, it'd be a wonderful excuse to stay in France until morning, and honestly, it's already been cleared with Sam, I think he's been wanting to pull you in for a while, he just wasn't sure how you would react, so are there any other problems?"
