I don't know why, but I used to LOVE MCR. Now I can't stand them.
And apparently, I also was "in love" with Good Charlotte... Yes, they were good back then.. but not really anymore imo.

Two words:

Hilary. Duff.

My friends sucked me into her generic pop crappiness. I hate to even admit I ever liked her.

That being said, I have lot's of good memories belting out the words to "So Yesterday" with most of my friends. Maybe I don't like the artist NOW, but I don't regret being an 9 year old girl with no taste in music.

Lol I remember Hilary Duff. I might have been a little older than you were when that album came out because I think my little sister was about the same age. It was the first CD she ever bought. She went into the store with my dad to buy the album Fallen by Evanescence and came out with Hilary Duff. I have no idea how it happened. If only I'd gone in with them and been there to talk her out of it, haha. I was really mean to her about it too, but if I'd been just a little younger, I probably would have liked it. xD Before I hit adolescence, I was listening to shitty pop music with the rest of 'em. I used to looooove The Backstreet Boys. That is probably the most embarrassing chronicle in the history of my music taste. xD

I was into MCR and Good Charlotte for a time too. xD And I'll admit that I still enjoy MCR's earlier music, from when their post-hardcore influences were still evident.

I'm ashamed to say I was into the Hansons I think their name was spelled that way. Actually after going to their concert I found out I didn't like pop music anymore. I went to a Yani concert before and realized art like music was much more entertaining than pop music.

It was true that at Yani I was rocking out when the violin wars started.
At the Hanson's concert I was cowering in a corner and all I could hear were screaming fans and no music for hours on end... BLAH!

When I was in middle school, I used to love the Jonas brothers, I now look back on my middle school days with regret and shame.

I tend not to look back on my musical choices with shame because I tend to love everything (and listen to most of the music I listened to as a kid[but granted, not as much]), but the one thing that I absolutely hate that I loved when I was a kid was Kidz Bop. Oh my god. Kidz Bop. They ruined so many perfectly good songs. So many. When they tried to do Nickelback, I was officially 150% done with them.

When i was younger i liked Bush quite abit (the band ofcourse, not the elderly impotent ex president ). however if i hear one of their songs nowadays im all: "what the hell was i thinking!". xD although their songs do remind me of my younger teenage years, so i do give them a listen once in awhile, just for nostalgic reasons! :')

Haaa Blood on the dance floor. I used to love them, now I'm not so crazy about them. (I don't judge other people for liking them, but I've just lost the desire to listen to them over time.)

I don't think I'm particularly ashamed of any of the bands or singers I used to be huge fans of...I suppose the Spice Girls from my pre-teen years were probably the biggest band I was into at the time that they were new and I was all for the whole girl power thing. Actually, the Spice World album was the first CD that I ever got, as a gift.

Nowadays I think, yeh, I was a huge fan of them as a young impressionable girl, but I still have that CD and while I hardly ever listen to it, it's kind of a part of who I was. And some of the songs are still ok, for late 90s pop.

I still love Hilary Duff. It's not like I listen to her very often, but if I hear one of her songs it makes me warm and fuzzy inside, lol.

One that I'm slightly ashamed of/definitely sick of now is Cascada. She's still famous now, but her music is so damned poppy and it all sounds the same. Drives me nuts most of the time these days.

I'm not ashamed of them, but I also like(d) the Backstreet Boys. I still love a few of their songs, but most of the stuff they had I now think sucks.

Oh, and Green Day. I tried to get into them to "fit in" in middle school, but truth is I hated them then and I hate them now.
