Abby grinned a bit.

"You're doing a wonderful job keeping him alive," she said teasingly.

John laughed a bit. "He only gives me the occasional migraine," he said with a little grin. "Hopefully he won't bother us again now."

Abby raised an eyebrow.

"Are you really going to bet on that?" she asked, grinning a bit.

"I did say hopefully," John pointed out. "Besides, I'm not his babysitter, I'm his friend. There is a big difference there."

"True," Abby said. "Well, let's see what happens." She grinned. "We can always go hit a movie. Perfect excuse to turn off your phone."

John laughed a bit. "Hopefully if I do that he won't track me down," he said with a grin. Because that was a concern with Sherlock. "But we can certainly try that, although I have no idea what movies are out now."

"I'm sure we can find something that we'll both enjoy," Abby said, taking out her phone. She pulled up a list of showtimes at the nearest theater. "Here, take a look."

John peered at the list for a few moments before he picked out three. "Any of those would be fine with me, so hopefully you'll like one of those."

Abby looked at his choices and grinned.

"That one, then," she said. "We can make the next showing if we leave in the next ten minutes or so."

"Well then, I'm ready to go when you are." John grinned at her.

Abby grinned and got up.

"Let's go, then," she said. "I can drive us there if you want." She grinned teasingly. "Since I'm used to the backwards American driving and all."

John snorted. "Yes, you silly Americans and your wrong-side drive," he teased, letting her lead the way over to her car.

Abby laughed a bit.

"Yup," she said. "Our funky backwards country."

John grinned. "At least you admit it," he said, grinning briefly.

Abby just grinned and got into her car. Time to head to the movies if they were going to make it on time. And hopefully this time they wouldn't get interrupted.

John turned off his phone this time as soon as they got to the theater so they'd get some form of privacy, at least.

Several months later, long after Sherlock and John had left the states again, Abby and Elena found themselves on a trans-atlantic flight out to Heathrow. Abby's job had been transferred out to London, so she had to pack up and move. Even though she'd kept in contact with John, she hadn't told him about the move. She wanted to surprise him in London.

Elena, of course, couldn't sleep at all on the flight. After the whole murder scandal, the law firm had dissolved into two parts. Elena happened to be in the part that dissolved entirely, so she got sacked. Fortunately, she had enough saved up that she'd be fine for a little while longer, but she'd decided to move with Abby anyway.

Abby had no trouble sleeping on the flight; noise-cancelling earbuds and her ipod and she was good to go. She dozed on and off until the announcement came over that the flight was landing at London-Heathrow.

"So now we need to find our apartment," Abby said once they'd landed and gotten their luggage.

"I say today we just splurge for a taxi," Elena said with a shrug. "It'll be easier, especially with luggage."

Abby nodded.

"Sounds good to me," she said. "I really don't want to haul this stuff around more than I have to."

Elena nodded and managed to flag down a taxi for them, hauling her stuff in before settling in for the trip to their new apartment. She was feeling a little apprehensive; new country, hopefully new job, and the only people she knew were her friend, her friend's sort of boyfriend, and a man she wasn't sure she liked half the time.

Abby was apprehensive, as well. She was nervous about moving to an entirely different country, and she wasn't sure how long it would take for things to start feeling normal again.

When the cab stopped to let them out, she paid the cabbie and started getting her stuff out of the trunk.

Elena helped get everything out and moved inside, after chatting with the landlord and getting the keys. Still feeling a bit nervous, she opened the door and started hauling stuff into their new apartment.

"At least it's pretty."

"It's nice," Abby said. "Sparse, but not bad." Rolling her suitcase behind her, she went to explore the rooms. "Bed in each bedroom, at least, that's good. Kitchen looks like it has the basic appliances. No TV, but there's already a couch. We can work with this, no problem."
