"Neither am I. Which isn't such a good thing in a king. Though most of the time others just talk and I follow along." He said with a chuckle. "But I do agree, talking about the weather is boring." He was silent for a moment. "Where else have you traveled?"

Cain chuckled at Kirin. He really was an interesting person. "Ah I wonder how to say it? Maybe I'll just...." he trailed off as he pulled a napkin toward him and started to draw a crude map. He marked his village and Kirin's kingdom with a star and shaded a great deal of distance between the area. "I've been all through this area. I could show you my journals of the past few months if you want, since it's hard to simply say where I've been," he said as he pushed the napkin drawing toward Kirin.

"That is your choice. I know how personal they are to you." He said with a smile. "I wish I could travel like you have." He said as their soup had arrived.

"I don't mind sharing," Cain said with a smile. Well, he might mind sharing the last few pages he had written since coming here. He would just keep that journal to himself then. "I suppose being a king must be really constrictive."

"It is. But I don't have much of a choice." He said with a small smile sipping his soup. "Sometimes I think it would be nice to just abdicate the throne. Leave it all to somebody else." (OOC: Don't forget about the torn out page.)

Cain eat some of his soup, though he never paid more attention to it than Kirin. "I'm sure I would run away if it were me, but you're a responsible person. You would never just disregard your duties," he said with a smile. He was sure that Kirin was that kind of good person that he expected him to be.

"True, but I do like breaking small rules." He said chuckling. "Like going out flying with out an escort, and going out to the night market with you with out an escort." His eyes sparkled with mischief.

Cain found himself chuckling and completely disregarding his food since he was so enjoying talking with Kirin. "Yes, I have noticed that about you. That side is something that I like as well. Really, you're an interesting person," he said, still chuckling.

"You strike me as a rule breaker, of small rules." He said with a small smile. "Though that isn't always a bad thing." He to had forgotten about his soup.

"Oh yes, I'll break almost any rule I don't like," Cain said with a nod. "I don't honestly see the point of them. And rules change from land to land, so I begin to think that the only rules that matter are my own ones."

"It must be nice to live that way." He said with a smile. He didn't want to leave this place. It was so nice to just sit and talk with Cain.

"Hm...I suppose so. But thinking like that tends to lead to scuffles with others. I think your way of thinking is more admirable," Cain said. He realized he'd been ignoring his soup and it was already getting cold. Not that he minded that as he took a bite. It was nice like this. It wasn't often that he got caught up so much in something that he forgot about food set right in front of him.

"I guess I can understand that." He said blushing as Cain paid him a compliment. He ate his cooled soup and still finds it delicious.

Cain looked down at his soup, not wanting to admit just how beautiful he thought Kirin's face had been in his embarrassment. That was definitely the kind of thing he couldn't admit. He finished eating in silence, but by them, the silence felt too much to stand. "How much more free time do you have?" he asked quietly.

"I'm not sure." He let out a sigh. "I don't want to go to this meeting." He mumbled as he finished his soup. He doesn't understand why he had to get married right away. He was still young by dragon standards.

"But it would be better to just hurry and get it over with," Cain said. "It's just a meeting after all." Though he also didn't want Kirin to go.

"But it could take hours," He grumbled pouting a bit. Though he would admit the best thing was his mother would be there for it. She was a force to be reckoned with. He smiled a bit at this thought.

Cain chuckled slightly. Since when was Kirin so...cute? "It can't be helped though. And I'll be waiting for you when you come back, so it's fine," he said with a bright smile.

"Can I be totally honest with you?" He asked as they continued to sit in the tavern. He had to get what was on his mind off it. Though he wouldn't if Cain were uncomfortable with it.

A little stunned by Kirin's request, Cain took a second to answer. "Yes, please say whatever it is," he said. Of course he wanted Kirin to be honest with him. Even if he was surprised or bothered, it was better than not knowing at all. Life was short for that, or at least his life was.

"I wasn't going to come after you last night. I thought you had really wanted to go, and as much as I wanted you back I was going to respect that." He paused for a moment. "When I got back to our rooms I saw your journals were still there, and I knew then I had to go find you. I knew you wouldn't have left for good without them."

"Really?" Cain whispered, biting his lips. Why did it hurt that Kirin thought he would leave? Were the journals the only reason he had to stay in Kirin's eyes? Cain shook his head, letting his brown locks flop around his head. "I've decided I'm done running though. I'm not going to leave you." He took a deep breath. "As it is, I don't have a reason to."

"Really?" He asked looking up at him. He had been afraid that with the start the two have them had had he would have wanted to leave. It makes his heart feel full to know that Cain wanted to stay. "I'm sorry I ever doubted you. That I ever thought you would leave." He took Cain's hand. He wanted to kiss him, but knew how the other felt about public displays of affection.

Cain twiddled his thumbs for a second. "It's not that at times, I didn't consider leaving. But in the end, I had no desire to. I already feel like I have a home here...with you, even though it's been such a short time. Ah really, why do I feel this way?" he asked nervously. He looked up at Kirin with earnest questioning eyes. That man was the source of all the change in Cain's life, for good or for worse.

"I'm glad you have found a home." Kirin said with a smile. He gave Cain's hand a gentle squeeze. "I want you to know that you can talk to me about anything. Especially if I do something to make you uncomfortable. Because I don't want to do that." He said with a smile.
