"Many of these have been passed down through generations of my family." He said with a smile. "Some are more recent. Often when I have visiting dignitaries they will bring me a book from their lands for the collection." He paused a moment. "Though some of the oldest books are kept in the museum."

Cain nodded. He didn't really know what to say. He thought the library was interesting--all books were--but he wasn't the sort who was any good at reading. His mother did her best to educate him, but he'd had no formal training in reading or numbers. He turned his attention back to Kirin and decided that he would try to learn a little more about the other man. "What about you? Do you like to read? I can't imagine that you could have read half of these," he said.

"I do enjoy reading, when I get the chance." He said with a smile. "No I haven't even scratched the surface of the books in here. Though I do try to read any new books that get given to me." He headed out of the library as he talked. He enjoyed spending time like this with Cain. It was just like the old days when Michael had been alive. Could Cain be Michael reincarnated? He wasn't sure.

Cain gave the books one last look before he trailed after Kirin. Somehow he wasn't surprised that the other man liked to read. He wondered what else he could ask, but there was so much he didn't know about Kirin that he didn't know where to start. Finally he just sighed and said, "You keep getting this wistful expression on your face and I really wonder what you're talking about."

"You remind me of somebody I knew a long time ago." Kirin said with a small smile.. He decided he needed to be honest with Cain. He couldn't keep things from him, even if thinking about them was painful sometimes.

Cain found that a curious thing to say. He didn't think he'd ever been told he seemed familiar to someone. "Is it a good thing, that I remind you of this person? Did they leave you with good memories?" he asked finally. Even though he wasn't the person that Kirin was remembering, he would like to be associated with a good sort of person.

"They left me with great memories." Kirin said with a smile. "You have so many of his mannerisms, and your eyes, they are so much like his." He is silent for a moment. "I do you know you aren't him." He said to reassure Cain, or maybe to remind himself.

Cain smiled hesitantly. This person that Kirin spoke of sounded like someone who had been very dear to him. From the other man's tone of voice, it almost sounded as if he were in love with this other person. What did that mean for Cain? He chose not to think about it for now. "At least I remind you of someone good," he said finally. "Maybe it would be better if I were this other person though. Maybe then you could like me as much as you liked him." He wanted to smack himself as soon as he said the words. He was never that open or so cheesy. He wasn't aware that he wanted Kirin to like him, but he'd spoken instinctively and without thought. He couldn't take them back because they were true.

"I like you Cain. For you are." Kirin said with a smile. They have arrived back at their rooms. The tailor had dropped of the clothes for Cain. He had left a note saying to call for him if any of the things needed adjusting. The matching shoes were there as well.

"But how can you say that you like me? You only just met me!" Cain exclaimed. It seemed improbable, irritating even, but Kirin's words did comfort him some. He just wasn't sure he could really believe them. When they got back to the room, Cain eyed the new clothes warily. "But I like what I'm wearing," he said stubbornly.

"And you can wear them, but you do need more then one outfit." Kirin said reminded again of Michael. "You also need dressier clothes for many occasions." He did his best to keep his voice calm. He does remember how Michael was the same way when he had first come to the castle.

Cain resisted the urge to roll his eyes. He disliked being told what to do, but he picked up the clothes anyway to look more closely at them. "Fine, if you insist. I'll wear these things tomorrow then," he said. It wasn't like he could refute Kirin's logic. He wondered what now though. They'd eaten and toured the grounds already, so what else was there to do? Just hang out? Cain wouldn't have minded that, but he didn't think Kirin had the time to stay with him all the time. He had a kingdom to run after all.

Kirin did have some free time. He wanted to just spend time with Cain, but would the young man want to do that? He really wasn't sure what to say or do. It had been along time since he had felt this flustered. "I am sure you want to get settled." He mumbled feeling like a fool.

Cain realized that they were both feeling awkward right now. That actually made him feel a little bit better. At least it wasn't just him. "Um...I suppose so. But I don't really have many things, so settling in isn't really much to do." He paused when he realized something. Indeed, what about his things? "I had a small pack before I got uh...thrown in that cell. What happened to it?" he asked. He had his journals in there and he had to get those back. He felt bad that he had only realized now the lack of them.

"I am sure one of the guards has your pack." Kirin said. "I will send word for it." He stepped into the hall and stopped one of the pages that was walking by. Soon the page was on his way to retrieve the pack. "I have had towels and other things brought up." Kirin said still feeling awkward. Why was it this man caused him to be so awkward?

"Thank you," Cain said gratefully. "I would never be able to forgive myself if I lost my things." He ran a hand through his already messy black hair as things quickly got awkward again. As much as he was starting to enjoy Kirin's company, did it have to always be so awkward? "Um...towels...?" he asked hesitantly, wondering where this was going.

"If you decide to take a bath." He said. Just then there was a knock on the door. The page was there with Cain's pack. "Thank you." Kirin said taking the pack. He gave the page a small coin. The page smiled and hurried off. Kirin went and handed Cain his bag.

Cain wasn't sure how he felt about taking a bath right now. He was still too new here and the unfamiliar environment didn't really warrant relaxing baths. He was used to bathing in streams or small inns after all. He took his pack gladly and immediately looked through it to make sure his journals were still there nestled between the other things he'd collected during his travels. A bright smile flitted across his face when he saw them. Finally he looked back up at Kirin, still smiling. "Really, thank you for finding my things. And maybe I'll take a bath later. I'm still not used to the atmosphere of this place," he explained.

Kirin was taken with Cain's smile. It lit up his eyes. He was so taken that it took him a moment to realize that Cain had spoken. It took him a moment more to process what had been said. "If you would feel more comfortable there is a smaller bath that the servants use. You are more then welcome to use it." He said with a smile.

Cain was oddly touched that Kirin understood his reluctance to bathe. "Ah yes, that would actually be nice. Besides, that's probably the right place for me. Aren't I basically a servant now?" he asked. Though the thought that he was bothered him, he accepted that as his current reality.

"I guess." Kirin said with a smile. He really hoped that maybe, one day they could be more to each other. But he quickly pushed that thought out of his head. He must remember Cain isn't Michael. "Do you need anything else?" He asked.

"No, you've been quite kind to me," Cain said. "I have more than I could need." He smiled faintly. He wasn't exactly sure what to do right now. "Maybe I'll go take that bath now after all. Where is this servant bathing area?" he asked.

"Off the servants quarters near the kitchens." Kirin said. "Would you like me to show you the way again?" He wanted to make sure Cain was going to be alright.

Cain could probably use the help, but it hurt his pride to ask for it. "No, no. I can find my way back there!" he exclaimed a little bit more indignantly than he meant to. "Let me just grab my things and I'll be back later!" Assuming he didn't get lost. He may have been good with remembering directions, but he honestly hadn't been paying that much attention by the end of the tour. He snatched up his things and one of the towels that Kirin had brought up and basically flew out of the room. There was no reason to move so fast, but once he started moving that way, he couldn't stop. When he was outside of the room, he leaned back against a wall and let out a sigh. He was acting too much like he was running away. After muttered a few curses at himself, he gained his composure back and headed down to the baths.

Kirin watched Cain fly out of the room. A small smile appeared on his lips as he head to his balcony. He needed to fly a bit, clear his head. HIs balcony was big enough to hold him in his dragon form. He transformed and took to the air. He knew his guards would get on him for not taking them with him, but he really did need some alone time. He enjoyed the feeling of the cool air as he flew.
