I thought it was out pretty much everywhere now. I'm downloading it in the UK, slow going but it's happening.

I wonder traded most of my pokemon last night and got a treecko and a mudkip ^u^

Hey guys. Just realised something, a bit sad. Pokemon X and Y are my least favourite Pokemon games, falling behind the boring 4th Gen. At least Pearl/Diamond/Platinum had Lucario, Empoleon and some good BGM.

What do you all think about it? I love wonder trade and amie, but the games are just really weak, or feel it for me. I have found myself going back to Heartgold and enjoying those games a lot more.

I can't argue that the recent games have been more and more boring. I loved Heart Gold/Soul Silver, and played that game for many, many months after the initial release. I also loved Black and White--especially the story. I was disappointed that end game content was mostly chasing the Sages around, but it was at least something. I always looked forward to the next story segment of the game. The graphics on those just got better and better, too. They also didn't really revolve around grinding, another plus.
Then came Black and White 2. Which I LOVED the idea of. I loved Black and White so much that a sequel seemed like the best thing ever. However, it wasn't. The game starts out great, but starts requiring more and more grind the more you get into it. I also don't understand why we needed new protagonists, and why we couldn't actually PLAY our old characters and actually get to see them find N. I know they did this as to not alienate new players, but as a sequel, will new players REALLY play it? Probably not. It also could be because Pokemon levels would be too high otherwise, but why couldn't they just have some weird clause that elite 4 Pokemon can't be used again or something, or allow us just to re-fight the same gym leaders, but with them having higher levels? I just hated having to play a new protagonist. I hated the character designs, and with the way they talk to us, we may as well be the old character anyway.
NOW, getting onto X and Y. I love the new look. The graphics are amazing, and I love that our Pokemon can actually be seen attacking. I also love the fact we can dress our characters in new clothes, and get hair cuts. I also love Pokemon Amie. It's a lot of fun. But I can't say I love this version of Pokemon, either. There's too much grinding again. I hated having to grind at least 5-10 levels to get to the second gym leader. And I STILL haven't beaten them because I lost interest. I'll play it eventually, but right now I lack the interest to do so. >_<;. I also don't care too much for the story so far. Maybe it gets better, but it's not nearly as engaging as the older games.

It seems both of our opinions are similar. Just something about Heart-Gold to me makes it a Pokemon Masterpiece. Maybe because second gen were my favourites.

I did adore the B/W story, but found the sequels lacking. But coming from X and Y, the sprite work is extremely pixalated I find, if not because I play on a 3DS XL. But everything you say in your post is the exact reason why I like/don't like these games.

I just find X and Y... Lacking. Just something about it screams that it's unfinished, or just quickly tossed together in order to get some 3DS sales. And if this rumoured game is true, if it goes on the WiiU... I just may not play any new games again. I'll just wait and see, but right now, all I want is Hoenn remake. Maybe they could add Kanto and Johto into X and Y somehow, though that would be tricky.

I started playing X a while back but then set it aside. I should really get back to playing it...

I really loved the new graphics overhaul of X and Y, if nothing else. I wish the other games had that same treatment. The depth of it, though, feels a bit lacking...I haven't picked it up in a long long time. I haven't even touched my DS for awhile. D:

I think part of it is I'm slowly phasing out of videogames. I like my iOS games I've been playing here and there, but that's about it. D:

I think I'll always be biased towards Gen 6 because, if you'll pardon the cliché, it made me 'fall in love' with Pokemon again but I can agree with some of the criticism levelled against it.

Hoping to give Black a more fair playthrough at some point- was just waiting for Poke Transporter so I could get the event Pokemon off that save file.

I am going through Pokemon X again with some Pokemon I got from my Bank, and I must say, it's pretty fun with a Mudkip and Noibat in my party.

Thinking about buying a DS so I can trade over my older Pokemon or something. I really want a Totodile.

NekoLen: I have totodiles if you'd like one?? I've been breeding up a bunch of stuff lately.

Also, I'm collecting vivillons if anyone has some different patterns they'd like to share. My native is garden variety, otherwise I might have something else I can trade :)

I'm breeding cyndaquil, mudkip, magby, cleffa, growlithe, snivy, tepig, meowth, eevee with baby doll eyes for easy evo to sylveon, piplup, vulpix, togepi, purrloin, chikorita, tyrunt, squirtle, ponyta, horsea, and turtwig.

I've only done 4 gym leaders x.x I'm having too much fun breeding, and messing around in trades lol

I also like the idea of a piplup @[email protected] I'd have a team made up of water-types though :P Can you keep me a totodile and I'll trade something to you? Is there any Pokemon you really want? Hmmm I'm not really in the market for anything specific at the moment, except for vivillon patterns - I'm regretting it though, its proving to be tough @[email protected]

Well I put treecko into the sex dungeon with a sexy ditto. So I should be getting an egg soonish.

I love wonder trading. It makes me so happy when I get awesome Pokemon.

Omg it's so addictive. On the first night I tried it, I got a togepi followed by a ditto. I was so excited, I couldnt sleep xD;; I went on hiatus for a couple of months, and it seems all the bidoof I was getting are now replaced by charmanders lol! Still getting a bunch of flabebes which I've been releasing since i started wonder trading @[email protected]

I'm about to be separated from my DS for a few but I'll check on it later this evening and let you know if I have any other spare vivillon in my boxes. I've got a couple traded scatterbugs I still need to level up too, iirc. At the very least I can catch you one of my natives.

I have modern, garden and royal. I've given up collecting them, so if you need any of those colours, I am glad to trade them.

WT for me is full of Fletchlings, Honedges and Froakies. I end up just releasing them, cause it gets annoying :P

Vivillons are such a pain to collect @[email protected];; On the GTS ppl are mostly wanting legendaries for them </3 I've sent out so many trade requests to passerbys today haha. But I haven't had anybody trade a vivillon back - even when I show them a bunch of different patterns (hoping they get the hint I'm after vivs :S) I'm gonna track down an online trading post for them soon X_x;;

I'm happy to take any vivillons you don't want. Is there anything you want in return for them?

I just tend to keep the chain going if I get something disappointing on Wonder Trade. Sometimes it's more disappointing to get something good because then I have to stop trading! The only Pokemon I've ever released was because it had a racist nickname that got through the word censor (I was paranoid Nintendo would gain the ability to tell I had it and ban me from everything ).

Oh, I got one that had been altered to read "F*ckFace" or something like that ;A; Who names their Pokemon mean nicknames...?

Then again... When I do Nuzlockes and catch one of the elemental monkies I always name them stupid or similar, because I hate those things.

I chain trade on WT too haha. Then I feel really, really bad when I pass a crappy pokemon on for something completely awesome xD;; Wow! I'm so surprised ppl send through mons with such terrible names >_o;; Eeek, that'd suck to be banned for that if you didn't do it. I was looking on the GTS yesterday, and had a snivy somebody wanted for a metapod. I was just about to send through the snivy, when I noticed their IGN was IHateBlacks :O No Snivy for you, jerkface.

On a sidenote - I'm gonna do a bunch of breeding today :) I had a really lucky run with vivillon trading yesterday ^^. A few lovely ppl took my insanely common elegant patterns, and traded some nice ones back. I also found this great page, where ppl are trading highly sought after patterns, for anything (in most cases). So I'm gonna breed some decent pokemon and trade those to ppl with common vivillons today, as a kind of pay it forward gesture ^^.
