"Not really," Haruhi said with a shrug. "Just something a little less subtle and not quite so bright."

"'Darker' less bright, or 'lighter' less bright?" Liz asked. "More towards things like navy and maroon, or more towards pastels? Or more towards monochrome?"

Haruhi shrugged. "Any of them," she said honestly. "I'm not real picky, so whatever you think is best."

"Which would you prefer?" Liz asked. "This is a design for you, so I want to make sure it something you'll wear."

"Something more summery, I guess, so a lighter color?" she said with a shrug. "It seems like a spring outfit."

"I can do summery," Liz said, picking up her pencil again. She sketched out an alternate outfit: shorter sleeves, cropped leggings rather than jeans, and sandals rather than flats. The colors lightened some, but not a lot; they were summery enough to begin with. "Better?"

Haruhi nodded. "I like that," she said. Plus it was still pants rather than a skirt, which she preferred.

Liz grinned.

"Great," she said. "I'll put in the design order for the silk when we get back home, and I'll make sure this is put together."

Haruhi blinked. "Silk?" she asked. "Isn't that kind of... expensive?"

Liz raised an eyebrow a bit, then blinked.

"Sometimes I forget you're not used to spending money like we are," she said. "Silk can be a bit on the expensive side, yes, but cheap silk is just that: the quality is terrible and it doesn't have good skin-feel. And I'm supposed to be working on my design skills, anyways, so I can just write it off as an experimental piece. Sometimes pieces have to be made in a few fabrics before the right one is found, but I'm pretty sure silk will work with this design." She grinned. "And besides, every girl should own at least one silk piece of clothing, and I'm betting you're not one of those who wants silk intimates."

"You're right about that," Haruhi agreed. "Alright, if it's really okay..."

"Oh it is," Lucy assured her. "She'll make things for me too sometimes to experiment, it's fun."

Liz grinned.

"Besides, if the design really takes off, I can justify making more of them," she added. "So really, it's okay. I'll make it out of silk."

"Okay," Haruhi agreed with a little smile. "I look forward to seeing it, then."

"I'll work on it as soon as we get back, I promise," Liz said. "In the meantime, was there anything else you wanted to try on? Anything that caught your eye?"

"Not yet," Haruhi said with a shrug.

"When we get back we can go through our closets," Lucy said. "Have a nice little private party."

Liz grinned and nodded in agreement.

"My closet is massive," she said. "I swear, I could probably give you a whole seasons' worth of clothes and not notice them gone."

Haruhi just shook her head. "You sound like the twins," she said with a grin. "They keep trying to give me all these weird clothes, especially bathing suits."

Liz grinned.

"Yeah, well, I think it comes with being the spawn of a designer," she said. "You just want to see everyone wearing nice things because it's what you grew up on yourself." She paused for a moment. "Actually, I could probably design you a bathing suit that is a bit more androgynous. Shorts and a tank, maybe, neutral colors, a couple of stripes. Could be interesting."

Haruhi just chuckled. "Whatever you want to do," she said. She was used to this from the twins still.

"You know what, I will," Liz replied, still grinning. It was nice, just having a bit of girl time. "So out of curiosity, why the host club thing?" she asked. "I mean, it's not usually the sort of thing girls do, is it? So, what, is it a hobby? Or just a way of killing spare time?"

"It started out as an accident," Haruhi said with a sigh. "I broke a vase and they decided I could work for them to pay off my debt. And then I just kind of... stayed."

"You're popular," Liz pointed out. "Really, really popular. I'm kind of surprised, I would have thought it would have been fairly even between everyone, but I've definitely noticed you get the most reservations."

"Really? I thought Tamaki still got the most," Haruhi said with a blink. "I'm sure Kyoya thinks that's amusing."

"Amusing enough that he asked for an outside perspective on it," Liz replied. She grinned a bit. "I got to take a quick look at the appointment list. You do actually get a few more than Tamaki does, on average."

"Huh." Haruhi blinked. "Okay." She didn't care all that much, not anymore. But it was fun.
