(better you than me!)

"A magic carpet...?" Gage asked in a flat voice. He had no reason to disbelieve though considering how magical his encounters with Davir tended to be. He just took Davir's hand though and hesitantly let himself be pulled onto the carpet. When he didn't fall, he relaxed, glad to have Davir's hands around him because the touch was a constant reminder that he wasn't alone. "Hm, this is nice, but isn't it a bit suspicious to fly around on a carpet? Don't people see something like this?" He decided to conversation simple since he wasn't sure if Davir wanted to talk. He seemed to be purposely avoiding talking about some things. Should Gage be anxious over that? He wasn't sure.

"They'll just think they are seeing things. If anyone is close enough to ask, I pretend to say I'm 'Aladdin' and that's all" he laughed a little as he lowered his hands to around the boy's stomach placing his head near his keeping them close. He couldn't resist getting close to him as well as loving the way the boy felt, as in softness. Once there he helped Gage off the magic carpet as it disappeared out of sight, holding the door open for Gage he refused to let his hand go, and walked in after him finding them a booth to sit at. They might not have been a couple, but, Davir was more than willing to push his limits up to a point. The waitress comes over to ask them what they want "What would you like? My treat for not showing you attention" he smiled saying the last part about the treat in a whisper as there was hardly anyone in the place.

Gage thought that Davir's explanation was a bit silly. People definitely wouldn't think they were seeing things. He wouldn't think that! If there was something suspicious near, he would want to understand that even if that was an instinct he had squashed for his own good. People like him should never go off exploring suspicious sounds alone. "Didn't Aladdin have a princess with him though?" Gage asked. He wondered, was this how the couple had sat on the carpet in the movie? Although he should have been bothered thinking that they were acting like a couple, he wasn't.

Once they were situated inside, Gage slipped into his more observant side, slipping his hand away from Davir's so that he could focus on his environment. "Oh, I'll just have a cup of chamomile tea," he said because it sounded like a safe thing to order without knowing what his options were. He turned back toward Davir, whispering a "thanks" back.

"Two chamomile tea cups please" he said to the waitress as she nodded walking away not bothering to write that down since it was simple to remember "Yes, Aladdin had a princess, but, at first he didn't. He had to earn her trust before that happened later in the series" he honestly spoke. The lady brought the tea back out about five minutes later placing the cups on the flat cup coasters with honey, lemon, cinnamon, and lavender on the side. Normally Davir would have a mixture of different kinds of flavors, there usually was mint, he didn't want that tonight. He wanted to stay awake tonight, he still wasn't finished yet "So what have you been up to?" he didn't know what else to say or ask.

Gage just hummed silently at Davir's description of Aladdin. He didn't see the significant of the gaining trust point. He could smell it immediately when the waitress brought their tea and he carefully felt for his cup, simple sitting and feeling the warmth come off of it for a minute before he took a drink. After that, he sat back in his chair, still cradling the warm cup in his hands. "I've only been perfecting a few songs and sitting in my room being lonely. It's you that seems to have been up to something interesting."

"Uh yea...but, you said you don't like surprises, so I don't really know why I keep going at it" Davir answered as he thought more about it, he was determined to do it, and not give up, because he really wanted to give Gage something special. However, he wasn't really sure if this would turn out to be a good thing...or if it would make things worse in the end. That was what scared him, the outcome, the reaction, and the ending result.

(So this was short...sorry my phone lit up and distracted me)

"It wouldn't be a surprise if you told me what it was," Gage said simply before taking a drink of his tea. He listened closely to the tone of Davir's voice and he pondered on it. He had the feeling that there would be an interesting expression on his face. Gage considered asking if he could touch Davir's face, but he kept his attention on his tea and his mouth closed. Asking such a thing would be beyond embarrassing. The few people outside of family that he had been allowed to touch in order to get a sense of their looks had found the whole experience awkward and now Gage felt awkward about doing it. "Could you at least tell me what kind of surprise it is? Can't you tell me something?"

"I wasn't going to tell you" Davir answered honestly, why would he say it so soon? there would really be no point to that; Davir thought more and more about it "I am not even sure it will happen really, I don't know your reaction, and that scares me. So I am just winging it at the moment and seeing what I can do. In the end I haven't decided to give you the surprise or not" Davir thought more and more as he took a sip of his drink. "All I can say is...if it turns out to be a good thing, it will be a wonderful experience. If not...I fear you'll wind up hating me for it and there isn't anything I would be able to do to change it"

Gage swished the tea in his cup. It almost seemed like he was avoiding looking at Davir, but really he was just trying to think. It was always easier to think when he was doing something with his hands. He wanted to know what Davir was up to, but the surprise made him anxious. It was possible that he might hate it? "Why are you doing something if I might hate you in the end?" he asked, a little irritated. He certainly didn't want to ever hate Davir. "This is all making me a bit anxious. Is this really a good surprise?" He really wanted to know what Davir's face looked like now. He didn't trust surprises because he'd come along too many tricks done as his expense and Davir could be smirking at him right now, though Gage did hope that Davir wasn't the sort to do that.

"I don't know if it will be a good surprise or not. I hope it will be and I'm not sure if you will hate me in the end" though he defiantly had a feeling he might be hated and that was what he feared the most right now. Davir was frowning, not smiling, but, not pouting either. "All I ask is for you to trust me and by tomorrow night I think I can show you the surprise. If you will let me that is, I've been working hard on it lately, and trying to perfect it as much as I possibly can" Davir was ready to show Gage after he did a couple more meditation focus sessions of his own. Davir was a bit anxious himself and nervous at the same time, he was shaking very slightly as he took a drink.

Gage didn't think Davir sounded all that hopeful either. He let out a tiny breath of a sigh, the sort of sound you wouldn't hear if you weren't listening for it. "I suppose I will just have to see what it is then. Er...bad phrase. There's really no other way to say that though when you seeing people come up with all the idioms..." he pouted a little although the expression was more for effect than anything else. It quickly melted off his face as he took a sip of his tea. "Why don't we just talk about less anxious things tonight? Unless that's all you had to say to me."

"Uh..." Davir had been so focus on his surprise project that he hadn't thought of anything else, his dreams were minimized with all the work and time he put into his little surprise project, so that subject was taken over. "How's your sister doing?" it wasn't the best conversation to get started, but, at least it was better than sitting in silence. He knew he could come up with something better, but, wasn't sure what. Then he sighed, did he really need to do more work on the project or was he putting it off afraid of angering or scaring Gage? Now he had to wonder about that. He had worked along time on it, perfected it as much as he could, and still didn't know where else to go with it. Davir sighed "I have an idea, when you finish your tea, I want to show you something otherwise neither of us will get much sleep later on" Davir knew that one quite well.

"She's growing up fast. Why ask about her though?" Gage asked, tilting his head. When Davir suggested that he would show Gage something, he sipped at his tea faster. "There you go again using that word show. Well fine, I understand. I'll finish my tea in a second and then you can 'show' me what you want." He tilted his teacup back and finished off the rest of it. The warm liquid made him feel more awake and it's warmth gave him a certain amount of courage to survive whatever it was Davir wanted to show him. "Have you finished your drink? I'm done with mine."

Davir had finished his as much as he wanted to drink and nodded "I have, now come, I believe it's the night to show you your surprise" he smiled, very anxious to show Gage what he had been working on this entire time. "This is probably going to be a one time deal and I hope that..." he stopped for a brief second "...that you will like it" he took the other boy's hand in his to lead him out of the little cafe and back to the carpet.

"Wait, you're going to show me the surprise now?" Gage exclaimed as he let Davir lead him. He was getting more comfortable with the other boy so he did not hesitate to be led unlike usual. He sighed again and was aware that he had been sighing a lot these past few days. "Don't say that in such an anxious voice. It makes me anxious too. Just hurry up with it so neither of us are left in suspense!" He squeezed Davir's hand in lieu of glaring. It was easier to express his nervousness and his will to hurry in such a way.

"Alright come on" Davir pulled him onto the carpet sitting down and flying straight up into the sky, there weren't too many clouds, and the view was as spectacular than it was the last time they saw it together. Well so to speak that is. Davir took a breath saying "Close your eyes" once he knew the boy would close his eyes he said "You can trust me, I would never ever want to hurt you in any way, I just want to share something with you" Davir closed his own eyes whispering something in a chant, sounded like a little rhyme in another language that would be hard to make out or understood in a whisper then his voice grew a little in sound.

"Hear my words, grant my wish, ensue the truth, into the eyes of one" that last part didn't make much sense let alone in rhyme, but, it made sense. Davir felt the change in the wind as the magic swirled around them both and when he opened his eyes he couldn't see a thing. He saw whatever it was that Gage normally would see on a day to day basis. This spell was purposely giving Gage the right to share eyesight with Davir, which meant Davir could see how Gage would see every day, and Gage would see how Davir would see the real world. "Open your eyes and let's pray this worked on your end" he hoped it had, otherwise why would he not be able to see anything like normal. Davir tightened his arms around Gage's waist in fear of many different things and leaned in closer closing his eyes a little as if he was thinking or something.

(Did you expect this to be the surprise?)

(of course it's what I expected! I already know how to react)

Gage closed his eyes as he was told although he didn't see the point in this normal surprise tradition. He didn't think Davir had any idea how much it mean to hear his words before he started a strange rant. Unlike when other people said it, he believed whole-heartedly that Davir would not hurt him and he squeezed his hand into the other boy's shirt, hanging his head as he waited. He felt and smelt and heard the magic around them. It was in the air everywhere, but he was not anxious of afraid. He gave himself over to the feeling of the magic.

When Davir finally said to open his eyes, he lifted his head again. "I'm opening my eyes now," he whispered. And then he did. What he saw awed and terrified him so much that he squeezed his eyes again almost immediately with a small cry. Saw, he saw. The colors and light had been so intense to him who was so unused to even a night sky. He clutched Davir's arms and was very glad for the arms around his waist. He peeked his eyes open again, unable to resist. Colors he couldn't even name, brightness, darkness, all so very saturated. shapes drifted in the sky. Clouds? The bright disk of the moon dropped light down so that Davir was lit in a halo of silver, although he did not know it was silver. Gage stared at him with his mouth gaping open. So this is what the other boy looked like? He had to look away because the image before him was too perfect.

"How can this be?" he whispered hoarsly as he clutched his hand tighter. "I can see. How can this be? D-davir?" he asked. He stared down at his hands, taking in every whirl and wrinkle and hair that were so obvious to his hungry eyes. He found himself wished for a mirror so he could see himself for once.

(damn, thought i did good too lol well at least I got a nice reply out of that)

Davir wouldn't give him any real answer to the fact that they traded eye sight and the fact that not seeing things scared Davir. Then again, darkness wasn't something Davir welcomed, and he hated darkness to begin with. However, he was so happy that he could allow Gage to see even if it was just temporary. "There is one more part to this surprise, however, to answer your question. Magic and alot of dedication to make this happen. This is what I have been working on this entire time. All the time I haven't spent with you, I have been perfecting this spell more and more, until I could finally 'show' you what the surprise was" Davir answered standing up bringing Gage with him holding him to him.

The carpet flew as he held onto Gage glad that this was turning out to be a good night "This is like a dream, like everything else, it will not last forever, and it's just temporary for tonight" he couldn't do this spell alot and he would be quite very tired afterwards, but, it was well worth it. Especially just to know how Gage was reacting was making his heart beat quite fast. Once they rode to a large lake where the moonlight danced upon the water they floated to the center and the carpet was out from under their feet. Davir had used his magic a little more so they could stand and walk on the water even if they weren't touching hands or anything.

"I did everything I could to make this night perfect and it's not over yet" Davir planned this for a very long time and had time to rethink things over. His magic swirled in the air as the nature, the woods and lake, along with the moon came to life. Well so it would seem. Fireflies flew around them as if on cue by magic, but, it wasn't the magic that made them move. It was the serenity around the lake itself. The moon almost made it look like the lake was sparkling like a beautiful diamond and there were even animals out in the woods that didn't pay them any attention.

Deer, owls, even a hawk trying to find it's meal; the stars were like diamonds in the sky, the shadows casted around them making it seem like another world, and nature itself was just beautiful by the sight. "Now, the last part of this surprise is I ask for you to dance with me" he held Gage's hand in his own "Will you dance with me?" the sounds of the crickets and other creatures around them almost sounded like a sweet melody.

(My heart is going to explode!! *happy death* )

Gage was having a hard time keeping his eyes off of Davir. As they floated down to the lake, he didn't even process the explanation Davir had given him. He could think later. Now he needed to see as much as he could to the point that his other senses seemed not to exist--and he did not miss them. How could he? Sight was the most overwhelming thing he'd ever experienced and it was only getting more intense. He barely noticed the transition between carpet to walking on the lake. He felt dizzy with so much information, as if he were standing tilted and looking at everything sideways. He might as well have been Alice in wonderland.

He didn't have a name for half the things he saw. Colors were nothing. Objects were things he only knew in terms of other senses. He recognized the birds and Davir. Davir drew his eyes again. His eyes drifted from the other's boy face to their hands which were clasped. When had that happened? Gage squeezed his hand just to watch it move. He wasn't aware of it, but his eyes were wide and his expression both dazed and joyous. His heart felt like it might explode out and distantly, he wondered if this emotion had a name. Something like...love? Although he did not know what this heart hurting emotion was for. "Yes!" Gage's voice came out in a breathless gasp. "Please dance with me." He wanted to say so many more things to Davir, but these were the only words he could manage.

(I am so glad you like it makes two of us)

Davir knew a few different sort of dances, but, his utmost favorite was ballroom dancing. He had always loved to be the traditional kind of guy and was fine with anything anyone would call him for that reason. He took Gage's left hand in his right hand as his other hand went to the boy waist while he led him in slow circles around the lake. Davir didn't say anything, he just smiled kindly as if he was living the best dream he could ever live, and then something made him snap to reality, but, his expression was unchanged as he didn't fully care right now. If this was a dream, he didn't want to wake up from it, and wanted it to go on for as long as he could make it.

Never did he once believe he could perform the spell, only did his heart believe he could, or hope it would just to make Gage happy. The moonlight graced them with the light needed to see each other almost in a dream like view and the temperature around them didn't seem as cold to Davir anymore. Davir found himself slightly humming a classical tune quietly to himself, though he didn't know, or mind if Gage could hear him. Slowly stopping the dance after awhile Davir leaned in to Gage's ear whispering "I love you"

Davir might not fully know what love was, but, if he yearned for the other. Thought of him all the time, dreamt of him, and couldn't get him out of his mind. Then what else could this heart warming happiness mean? There was no way this was anything, but, a dream compared to all others he had. His dreams were always so real minus the fact he could never feel the wind in dreams or the touch of others. Davir's hand holding Gage's loosened moving to the boy's face as his hand gently laid upon his cheek. His thumb moved brushing softly against Gage's lips just so Davir would know where they were and leaned in kissing him on the lips with passion as his left hand pulled Gage closer by the waist and his own eyes closed.

Gage didn't know how to dance, had never had anyone to dance with. It was hard to learn how, though he had stood on his grandfather's toes as the older man twirled around the room in dances from his a period long past. Mostly it was just the dance of freedom, not a set step pattern. He found himself stumbling as he danced with Davir, trying to watch both their feet to mimic the pattern, but having a hard time keeping his eyes there. Although, the lake was beautiful. That was the only word he could come up for it. Patterns and infinite shades of colors were reflected in the subtly moving mirror and he could see himself and Davir together in it's vague reflections.

The dance stopped and Gage froze at Davir's words. He sucked in a quick breath of air. Love? Seriously, there was not enough air and he didn't even need to worry about it because Davir was kissing him, but he was still thinking about the air. Where had it gone? He returned the kiss this time, not pulling away. He couldn't wrap his head around the love confession and the kiss now, but it felt good. Gage would go along with anything now, as long as it was Davir that was leading. He reached his arms around and clutched at the back of Davir's shirt with trembling hands. "Davir," he whispered. "Davir..." Other words had completely failed him.

Davir pulled away only to embrace Gage in a longing hug, but, he heard the way Gage was speaking. 'Oh shit' he thought to himself keeping his face expressionless. 'Did I just do something wrong?' he thought to himself as his thoughts began to go wild 'D-did I just hurt him? Was that too much? I shouldn't have said anything to him' now he was freaking out mentally and that was going to cause a headache later. Davir could feel Gage's hands trembling 'Have I scared him?' now his emotions were confusion and running as wild as earlier. Davir's magic was starting to fade, he could feel it, and wondered if maybe he could stop this before it was too late.

Too late before Gage wouldn't have to think about this or the fact that he wouldn't have to scare him like this again. He knew what he had to do even if it meant by force or if it meant...well he just had to do it now. Davir didn't think that Gage was ready to hear that now that he had spoken those special words that you only should say to one very rare person in the world meant just for you. His heart felt as if it clenched and his mind slowed "Gage" Davir whispered in his ear again "Close your eyes" and waiting just for the right moment for the boy to close his eyes, Davir was casting a simple, yet strong spell with one simple word "Sleep"

Once the boy would fall asleep Davir knew what he had to do, he would then whisper "Everything was a dream" from the point of them meeting, to every day hanging out, and up to this very day which he gave him the best gift he could ever give anyone. It would all be nothing, but, a confusing or realistic dream. Davir would make himself forget as well later, but, for now he focused on carrying Gage who was forced into a deep sleep home. Magically teleporting him to his bed while covering him up, and hiding any trace of their encounters.

Davir watched Gage once more, his eye sight returned after Gage had closed his eyes to fall into the pattern of sleep, and then things were back to normal. 'I won't hurt you never again' though Davir didn't think of what would happen if Gage did remember at first, in the end, or if the forgotten spell would never work in the first place considering his confused emotions. Davir headed home putting the carpet up, ignoring the silence, and laying down in bed whispering a spell to himself "Forget Everything and sleep" in that case he fell asleep as everything in his heart, mind, memories, and life from their meeting point faded. He wouldn't even remember Gage.

Everything was too terribly wonderful. He didn't know what was happening, but he didn't want to close his eyes when Davir asked him to. Davir sounded so insistent though so he did. He heard only one word and then he was asleep. That magic word echoed in his mind, but slowly was swallowed up by his unconscious.

When Gage awoke, he was in his bed where he should be. He had been sleeping. And yet, he refused to move. He kept his eyes closed and lay there for a long time, collecting memories and dreams out of the depths of his subconsciousness. He did not remember dreaming anything quite like this before as his dreams had never been so detailed before, though the dream memories were already starting to fade at some edges. At other places, the dream was sharper than any memory. His mind particularly focused on the ending moment of the dream which was all in image, two people dancing, the moonlight. The other boy had leaned in closer whispered something. Gage couldn't remember what. He had whispered something else then and Gage never heard it before the dream suddenly ended. Was it even possible for a blind person to dream in images?

Gage finally pulled himself out of bed and managed to go through his morning dream without injuring himself. He couldn't quite pull himself away from the dream. It kept nagging at him, telling him it was more that it seemed. Once at the breakfast table, he looked up at his mother and said a sudden remark that had his family staring at him in shock. "I did not know that black hair looked so different from blonde..."

"Honey...what are you saying? They do, but how do you know?" his mother asked.

He twirled his spoon in a bowl of cereal that was already going soupy. "I saw it in a dream." He could hear the whispers around him and though no one said the exact word 'impossible,' he still heard it. Just as he though, something was wrong. Something was very wrong. He shouldn't feel like he wanted to cry because a dream ended. He shouldn't feel like the most important thing in his life had been harshly ripped out of his heart.

(this might be small, sorry)

Davir woke up twenty minutes after ten in the morning and headed for the library within the house. Looking around he was confused on why it was so quiet considering his two sisters were always running around in the morning, and went to check on them in their room. No one was there, he checked his parents room, no one there either, he spent an hour looking all over the house for clues or something. Finally He came to the kitchen seeing a note on the fridge saying:

Quote:
Davir,

You are alone now, we're no longer going to be by your side, the house is paid off for awhile, and your uncle might come by to live with you. You chose someone else other than family to focus on, we never did exist, in fact you are the one writing this letter to yourself

- Your Parents & sisters/
Now that threw him for a loop, what the hell was that? A note to himself? His sisters never existing? He was so confused now until he heard someone behind him yell in unison "GOTCHA!" he turned around quickly the magic at his hand as soon as it formed it faded. Davir was overly confused "HAPPY BIRTHDAY DAVIR!" Davir glanced to the side "My birthday isn't for another month" he raised a brow, he knew he hadn't lost track of time "Well it's early, so what" Zia and Kia spoke in unison giving him gifts, but, Davir shook his head teleporting out of the kitchen and back to his room changing. He jumped out of his window before they made it up stairs and realized how cold it was outside. He flew off keeping the black scarf he had with him while he was wearing the clothes from last night.

Davir was wearing dark blue jeans with a long sleeve turtleneck made of polyester which kept him even warmer than usual, the black scarf around his neck, and his black boots while his hair was in a mess from not combing it, but, the somewhat windy cold day would have changed that even if he brushed it anyways. He walked to the graveyard, he always wandered around there to get away from home even if it would take him awhile.

It didn't take long for Gage to corner his sister and ask her to take him to the graveyard. She had just stared at him at first and glanced back into the kitchen where they're parents were. Maria adored him though, so they headed out, wearing their coats and Maria had big fluffy ear muffs on too and her hands were mittened. They walked slowly and Maria asked questions the entire way. Why did he want to go back to the graveyard? Why did he want to go now when it was still cold with late morning wind and cloudiness?

"Wait...back?" Gage asked in the middle of her stream of questions.

"Of course. Remember on Halloween? And we met that cool guy and there were those awesome girls too! It was so cool! Have gave me a rose!" the girl exclaimed and Gage had to think deeply on that. He thought that was part of his dream, but he didn't believe in shared dreaming. Maybe that part was a memory that got mixed in with the rest of the dream? But then why did the memory and the dream match up so well. He was only getting more confused.

When they were within sight of the graveyard, Gage told Maria to go home. He could feel the skeptical gaze that she was giving him because it was just so like her. She had been yelled at by him for being left somewhere strange that she didn't want to do it even with his permission. "Don't worry, I'll fly home tonight if I have to," he said and finally she trotted off back home. Gage was left with the graveyard lying to his left and he started walking toward it slowly. Indeed, why had he come here? This seemed to be where it started though, so if he wanted answers, he knew he would find them here.
