These are my babies, Aries, Miakis, and Creeper. Miakis is the tabbied calico. Due to a couple of previous roommates I had that abused and tormented her, she doesn't trust anyone but me. Her favorite place to sit or crouch is on my shoulder as I walk around the house. The big boy with the blue eyes is my snowshoe, Aries. He's fixed, but he doesn't like sharing me very often with other humans, with the exception being my sister and one friend. Everyone else, he tends to try to scratch.
^- Miakis
^- Aries contemplating snatching my sister's shoe off her foot and running away with it. He's... odd.
The next two links are just a couple of the pics I've taken of my juvenile Northwestern alligator lizard, Creeper.
The second link is where he gets his name from. He pokes his head out of this hollow log he's claimed as his den and he just watches me like a little creeper. XD
lol Thanks. I'm rather fond of Creeper too. It's been interesting to watch him the past couple weeks I've had him. He's also the second lizard I've owned. The first was an iguana my sister had given to me that she had named Stefan. I changed the name to Houdini because he kept getting out of his tank no matter what I did to the screen on the top. He got sick and died though.
I've had Miakis since 2005 and Aries since about... 2006/2007.
That is an adorable kitty! <3 I took quite a few pics of my lizard Creeper last night since he decided to park his little lizard butt on my hand and take naps while I was singing along to Poets of the Fall.
I've always wished for an odd-eyed or poly-dactyl cat. Never have had one, but I have loved all the cats that have been part of my life. Ahaha. Wild and crazy, huh? Sounds like she'll give you lots of trouble and fun.
Not that we have noticed. She's a wild and crazy kitten. Her vet appointment is on Tuesday, I drop her off in the morning and pick her up after work.
That's awesome. Is it spay time?

The only problem with polydactyl kitties is that the extra toes all have claws. My current kitty is a Maine Coon and he has ENORMOUS paws. Even a play swipe hurts more with big paws. More claws sounds like even less fun. And I don't believe in declawing.
Such a pretty kitty and oh my what a tiny lizard. I never seen one so small before plus,I have rarely get a chance. to see a cat with two different colored eyes.
Eeee! I can imagine. My daughter fell in love with one at a local fair but my dad said NOPE. Since we're livin in his house we had to respect it. I think the guy said it was a girl too.
Oh man, that's sad. They're so nice and easy. No live feeding necessary (which is great because I HATE the way crickets sound). But they do get big. And many people are not okay with reptiles, especially large ones.
Yeah poor things. Some people don't realize they have personalities like cats/dogs do. Some are jerks and will nip others will wiggle under you for warmth and snuggles.
My friend had a snake that would refuse to coil around anyone but her. She moved and the apartment wouldn't let her have it so one of her cousins ended up with it.
Oh man, yes! Reptiles have all sorts of personalities!
My little corn snake, Lukas, used to pop out and watch people when they walked into the room. And he loved to climb on people and then settle on them and just listen to them talk. He just loved being handled in any way, too.
Which is why, when I figured out that I'm just a terrible snake mom (I really need something that reminds me to feed it daily), I made him a classroom snake. He loves it. He loves the kids. He could not be a more perfect classroom pet. He's at a middle school with a science teacher that really adores him.
My little sister had an Iguana once. She named him Stefan. I'd bought him for her for her 16th birthday. Well, when she and my mom were living in an rv park, Stefan got himself out of his aquarium while my sister was napping. He crawled under her blanket and on her chest, facing her. All she knew when she woke up was there was something on her chest and she freaked out and send the poor thing flying. He was fine, though, just wandered back over to her and lay on her again. And then they moved and couldn't have reptiles with them, so he was left in my care. I had had a wire mesh lid made for the tank because at that time I had 5 kitties and two pitbull puppies and didn't want Stefan to get eaten. I ended up renaming him Houdini because he kept still finding ways to get out of the aquarium, even with heavy books on the ends to hold it down on the tank. And he used his tail to snap it at the dogs and cats and kept them back. He ended up getting sick though and dying, which was sad.
That's exactly why I only buy locking reptile specific tanks. Lukas was quite the escape artist otherwise. Luckily he liked to find a person to hang out with, but I had terrible visions of one of the dogs biting him. It would have been an instant death sentence to a little corn snake like him.
I like iguanas, but I would never own one. They're too...intense. You can see them plotting things. And I hate getting tail whipped.
This is my Mack/Macker-Doodle. He is a six year old APBT/Boxer mix. Didn't plan on getting him. Six years ago my husband and I were looking to adopt a dog we found at a shelter when we were living in Georgia. She was a young pit bull with a history of abuse that had been returned several times. The shelter said they wanted to hold her a couple days. We agreed. Visited daily. We signed her paperwork, got the house ready, hired a trainer to work with us one-on-one. Went in for our daily visit and found out she had been put to sleep. It was so devastating. Her name was Scout. I have a couple pictures of her on a hard drive somewhere... Couple weeks later a guy from my husband's platoon calls, says his dog had a surprise litter while they were away. They wanted to keep both pups but one of them was just too much to handle. That was Mack. I hated him at first. But he quickly became my best buddy after the husband deployed.
SPOILERX
This is Hawkeye Pierce! He is a two year old APBT/Greyhound mix. He's an awkward boy. I think his legs are too long for his body, haha. He never bends them. Ever! My husband and I got him from the shelter a year and a half ago after we bought our first house back home in Colorado.
SPOILERX
This is Jethro Bodine! He's my pal. I've had him, oh gosh, forever it seems. Got him from the animal shelter when he was a couple weeks old. Very sickly. Gave my entire family ring worm. He's nearing twenty now. Spends his time moving from one sun beam to another and snuggling. I love my grumpy old man.
SPOILERX
This is Margarita. She's a fuzz-butt that a step-monster randomly brought home one day when I was a kid. Poor thing was afraid of everyone and everything. I was the only one she wasn't afraid of, probably because we both lived in the basement. She's around fifteen now. Purrs constantly and loudly. Very loudly.
SPOILERX
This is Portia. She's the most recent addition to the house, although she is my husband's childhood kitty. She lived with my mother-in-law originally but when my mother-in-law decided to get rid of Portia in order to get another chihuahua, my husband and I took her in. There's no way I could let her be abandoned in a shelter or with some stranger that might not care for her. She's very silly and playful. Loves Jethro (they have secret snuggle sessions in the towel closet) and the dogs.
SPOILERX
This is my Pip. She is a sixteen year old Cinnamon Pied Cockatiel. She was fresh out of the egg when I first met her - annnnnd then I passed out holding her. Whoops. But she's been my companion ever since. She hates my husband and will go out of her way to try to attack him. Bahaha.
SPOILERX
This is Wheezy. She is a Sub-Saharan Ball Python. Not totally sure how old she is. My dad brought her home one day. Her previous owners didn't take very good care of her. She has a lot of scarring on her backside from being attacked by rats. Most loveable snake ever! The husband is terrified of her. Kind of pets her.
