Wasn't cold enough in my department. If you worked in zero or below you got cold money, and a padded boiler suit and a padded coat. Nothing else though.

I worked in a refrigerated environment once... I lasted a month.... my body does not handle heat well...
I'm like a lizard. Throw 110 degree weather at me and I'm just cozy, throw 60 degrees at me and I'm about to die an ice cube.

I feel like I haven't cooked in a while, though I guess I have. I made Salisbury steak, chicken and dumplings, and chicken marsala this week. The latter was served tonight with steamed baby spinach and potato-carrot mash. It came out so tasty! I think I need to invest in some porcini mushroom powder, as grating dried mushrooms across a micrograter takes forever.
What all is on the menu for you guys this weekend?

I'm in a food slump. Nothing sounds good to eat, and I balk at anything that takes much effort.

I don't really have a favorite. Lots of things I like & even love, but I'm more of an impulsive "I want what sounds good at the moment" person. I don't think there's anything I always want to eat no matter what (save fresh ripe watermelon and cherries).
What about you? :)

i always fall back to chicken
i love to marinate tenders in Italian dressing
then grill them to almost burnt a bit on the outside
that and baby carrots always makes me happy for some reason
---------- Post added 01-26-2014 at 04:12 PM ----------
i also love fresh ripe watermelon, cherries and tomatoes

i am determined to grow my own watermelon and tomatoes this year
OH and some corn so i can grill it with some soy sauce slathered on it

That sounds goood.
It's a shame one cannot live on watermelon, cherries, tomatoes and grilled corn alone. :)
I just pulled a pork roast from the fridge, so I guess I'm cooking that sucker tonight!

Is he spoken of in the past tense because he is an ex father in law or because he is an ex(R.I.P) father in law?

I like to use those in our freezers as it is, but there used to only be one decent jacket, and the guy in charge of freezers didn't smell of roses!

Been having lots of baked jacket potatoes since my brother has opened up a takeaway, that sells lovely ones, but today we had a chicken roast, including stuffing...(roast potatoes courtesy of my brother, which may I add I got discounted from my work!)

Especially if you put a funnel in the top of it, and pour in half a bottle of vodka

Because I no longer have any connection to that family besides the only person alive in their family with a working brain.
He has from what I've been told been hospitalized multiple times for eating that junk though

@BoD
I hadn't considered that, but in the right mood it'd be tasty. Unfortunately for my bitty watermelon, half went into a big fruit salad and the other half is already cubed and in a tupperware for additional snacking. >>;
I think tonight's meal is going to be one of those quick cop-out meals like pancakes and sausage. I forgot to take anything out to thaw before leaving for work. Oops.

I could eat that right now, but I'm gonna try this fish I got yesterday; basa in lemon and herb tempura batter. Sounds lovely, hope it is!

I took Top Ramen and diced up a bunch of precooked chicken, and 2 eggs and threw it into some boiling water with the seasonings.
It was delicious.
I left the eggs as big chunks to fish for (dumplings?) but I might try it mixed next time.

I guess it depends on what it is about fish that hummy can't handle, eel is a strong flavour isn't it? Not a good option I'd have thought.
Basa's lovely, a light, delicate flavour, similar to plaice. I'm glad I bought these fillets, it was really nice!
