That does sound interesting...does that mean you learn law related to criminal justice? [?]
LonelyOtaku, did I ever tell you that your signature scares me a tad? Also, I don't get the 'thrusters engage' reference either...

Oh Ling I'm sorry i've been meaning to change it. I just thought it was funny the way the cat looked. As for the reference I guess its when your on a spaceship and the thrusters kick in or something like that. I guess a cat would look that way if there were thrusters.

It is funny too...and it's not so unbearably scary that I can't stand to see the sight of it and as for the 'thrusters engage' that makes sense to me now

The classes encompass a wide variety of topics related to the criminal justice field. Even the core classes are very diverse, which is good. You become exposed to a wide variety of aspects of the criminal justice system.
There's class for everything from death forensics, juvenile justice systems, CRCJ statistics, research methods, institutional corrections, comparative criminal justice systems, law enforcement, digital forensics, CRCJ administration, American judicial systems... and plenty more. I even took a class on professional writing, a class that solely focused solely on law enforcement paperwork.

admonished nonsense, those subjects seem very interesting.
I studied Social Science and the focus was more about society, policy and human service work...I did do one course with a focus on law...very introductory but interesting too.

If I were a continuing student I'd still be in summer break
As it is I'm an unemployed graduate who will most likely not work in a paid job until after March, because I'll be going overseas soon...still looking for job vacancies though.

I'll be going to Asia two vaccinations injected yesterday, one in each arm, and the first dose of another vaccine, the other dose I'll take next week.
They were soo expensive and my arms hurt a bit from the injected ones...but I kind of figure, better safe than sorry.

Where are you going in Asia? Also, yuck. I've had vaccines that made my arm hurt for days. Not quite sure which ones they were anymore, though.

The plan is to fly to Hong Kong and then catch the ferry straight from there to Macau.

Macau is a small city which had been taken over by the Portuguese for a few hundred years and only in 2000 was it 'returned' for lack of a better term, to mainland China. In the same way that the British had control over Hong Kong for over 100 years and returned Hong Kong to China in 1997. Their main spoken language is Cantonese and they write in traditional style Chinese, if you cross the border from to Mainland China you'd be in Guang Dong province.
So like Hong Kong, Macau is part of China yet also separate from it. Hong Kong and Macau are both S.A.R (Special Administrative Regions) of China. Macau has its own way of governing (government), it's own currency and they drive on the left side of the road, unlike China where they drive on the right side.
While I'm at it, I might as well mention that Macau is known as the Las Vegas of Asia, because of its numerous and very extravagant casinos, one of them, the Venetian Macau is the biggest casino in the world. Because gambling is illegal in Hong Kong and Mainland China, people from those regions travel to Macau to gamble and the industry makes up a huge chunk of Macau's revenue.

It still surprises me how unknown Macau is in the West, considering it's unique characteristics.
The flights back home from Hong Kong are about a month after our arrival...what we end up doing after we get to Macau, particularly midway through are pretty much unknown at this stage.

Oh, I've known about Macau for a few years. I took a course on East Asian Political Economy and we talked about Macau, that and I liked the episode of Anthony Bourdain's No Reservations where he went there. It's so cool how it's the mix that it is of the cultures. :)
When I was an undergrad I studied Political Science. I loved it, so it's a bit weird with how I am in my current Grad program ^^"

They are for me, at least. Which is what matters. I know there's some people who are completely disinterested, but they be crazy. Of course they'd probably say the same to me about my disinterest in their courses.
They all seem to intersect somewhere or another. History, psychology, economics, criminology, sociology... they all trip over each other somewhere along the line. Which is what I find most satisfying. Nothing is simple and little is what it seems. It is all a convoluted mess with no straightforward answer with countless factors influencing them. No clear-cut answers.

Ooh! History is so much fun, it was my original major. History encompasses everything. It's fascinating to look back and see how everything is interconnected, and how one small event can change the course of history for hundreds of years.
