I've been doing that quite a bit this semester, Otaku. I know your pain. Working on the final draft of a paper right now.

Urg, I bs'd a first draft of my final paper for my major...Somehow got a B on it since I basically pulled some of it from my ass the 2.5 days leading up to its due date. And I got scolded by my dorm's cleaning lady ^^"

Mine's turned out to be 20 pages, Otaku. Probably 15 if you take out all the white space.

My Capstone essay ended up being I think 27 pages? Though if you took away the lit review part in the beginning, around 20ish. The first 9 pages were a lit review.

Aw thats a long paper. It makes me wonder how people can put so much information in their paper. I barely am making it to six pages on mine.

I have much experience bullshitting papers. This one, though, was just naturally very repetitive. It required me to say the same thing a few times over.

We political scientists can fill a bunch of pages like that somehow. Most of my paper was an analysis and I know the first 8 pages after the introduction was a literature review where I connected the literature to each other and whatever I was researching, then fill pages with research, my take on it. Oh yes and bullshit. Yep, that too.
Quote people, talk about how that has anything to do with the point of the particular point you're making about your overall topic.

That was basically 4yrs of my life as a political science student thrown into an almost 30 page paper :D

What do you do when you have to spend money you were planning to use for test fees on Christmas presents you didn't know you were going to have to buy because your big sister got engaged and the engagement comes with the new fiance's 3 small children?

Depending on how important the test is, I might say that you need to still spend that money on the test and get the kids presents next year.

thirding it. I think the best thing is to let them know that you would like to get them gifts, but you're short on cash because you have to have money for the test fees. I'm sure the adults will understand.

How old are the kids Kitami? If they're really young, stuff from dollar or cheap stores might be good if you feel you should get them something.

Yeah, honestly, you didn't know that she was going to get engaged. If she's your sister she'll surely understand how important the test is to you. Just make up for it on the kiddos birthdays, etc. until next Christmas, or get them the most affordable presents you can while still being able to pay for your test.

Yeah, that is a good plan :)

When I was in school I only did gifts for a few people because of money and they all got cheap gifts or my brother's kids all got stuff from the dollar section in the stores. My niece is obsessed with Hello Kitty so I would raid the dollar section at Target where they had a bunch of Hello Kitty things. :)

Yeah, kids don't know how much money you spend on them. As long as you get them something shiny they tend to be happy.

A few stuffed animals (you can get pretty good quality ones for cheap) and coloring books and crayons and you're good to go :)

Make sure to disinfect them if they're from a secondhand store, though? ^_^

I like to think that if I buy a stuffed animal from a secondhand store, it's sort of like adopting a dog or cat from the shelter. ^_^ Giving them a chance at a new life and a new home!
