So she was sick with a UTI which is about a yearly thing, in the hospital, suddenly gets worse and they discover a brain infection, which, by the time they found it, it was too late to do anything about it. And she also caught this bug which happens sometimes when you've had like nuclear levels of antibiotics in your system, like she did for the multiple infections, which kills elderly people a lot because you kind of have to fight it off yourself. So when I was in Missouri in June/earlier this month, they said she will continue to decline, in health and brain function, and she had maybe 6 months. And that it would be really bad at the end. So we agreed as a family to put her in hospice as she will need care that my mom won't be able to provide. But then just last week she took a bad turn and now they're talking maybe 2 weeks. I'm pretty upset and my mom is driving out here to get me as I cannot afford another plane trip. The good thing is they are keeping her very comfortable and she can still recognize us, although she keeps asking for my mom's first husband, and she gets distressed because he's not there. I got to talk to her on the phone the day before yesterday, and told her I love her, in case she doesn't make it until next week which is when my mom can get out here.

I've been pretty busy. As stated above, my grandma is dying, so thats the worst thing in my life right now. I've been drawing more. And just, in general, trying to get my sh*t together lol. You?

Such a horrible thing to have to go through. I was lucky when my gma died it was very short, she was gone within a matter of weeks of first being notified she wasn't very well. I wish I was older, so I could have visited her more. Had more of an idea of what was going on. She's been gone about 15 years now. I still miss her loads.

Well I am taking some comfort in the fact that its not going to be super drawn out. Because the way they were talking, that 6 month timeline would have taken away pretty much everything about her that makes you a person. It won't be as hard on her this way. Or us.
