Gaara sat down next to her, wondering just what the surprise was. He was also wondering about these strange feelings inside himself when it came towards Gemini. He thought it could be love but at the same time, he wasn't exactly sure just what love was. The only person he felt that he could ask was his sister, but he'd have to wait.

"Then thank you Naruto, for everything tonight," she said with a light blush on her face as she ate her sushi. She was glad for the darkening skies so that he couldn't see her blush. Hesitating just a little bit, wanting to make sure her chakra was in tact since Mata-chan said it would happen during the night hours, she carefully followed Naruto up to the roof. "This is amazing..." she breathed out. And honestly, as long as she was with Naruto then she would be happy wherever they were at the moment.

Gemini smiled as she turned back to face the horizon, where the sun was just disappearing, leaving the moon and stars to light the sky. The moon was almost full, she noticed. Would be full the next night. She wondered vaguely about the warm feeling in her chest, and the butterflies in her stomach, but pushed the thoughts away in favor of watching the night sky. "Oh, it's started! There's the first one!" She said excitedly, pointing to a bright light streaking upwards, only to explode brightly high up in the sky, revealing the surprise to be fireworks. The view was damn near perfect from the mountain, almost as if they could reach out and touch the display. Gemini's face lit up with innocent wonder.

Naruto grinned brightly enough to light up the night, and gestured for her to sit next to him. "They're starting, dattebayo! We got here just in time!" He said as they watched the first firework shoot upwards into the sky and explode brilliantly in a shower of bright colors. From their vantage point, they could hear cheers rising from around the village, of people both local and visiting, young and old, shinobi and commoner, who were all watching the display.

Gaara was impressed with the display, and definitely surprised. He was curious as to what caused the explosions, the different colors, everything actually. With this being his first time seeing everything, he was extremely impressed...he would have to ask Gemini what these were called once everything was over.

Yugito sat next to him, watching what seemed to be a signal flare up into the sky. Though she was surprised when she saw the flare burst into a myriad of colors. "Wow." was all she could say, somehow knowing that Naruto was nodding in agreement. After watching a few of the fireworks burst into several different colors and give off several different sounds, her eyes widened as she felt a pain in her stomach. Had they so lost track of time that the transformation was already starting.

Gemini glanced over to see Gaara's reaction to the fireworks. She had expected surprise, but not to the extent that she saw. Hadn't he ever seen fireworks before? She thought of what he'd told her, about his past, and suppressed a growl. If she ever met his bastard of a father, she'd kill him herself. Shaking away the negative thoughts, she carefully slid her hand over towards him, and placed it over his, being as discreet as possible. She had turned back to the brilliant lights and loud sounds.

Sensing that something was distressing his companion, Naruto turned to see Yugito clutching her stomach. With a jolt he realized how late it was, and what must be happening. He shuffled closer to her and placed an arm around her shoulder. "Yugito-chan. It's okay, I'm here, 'tebayo. If the pain gets bad, just squeeze my hand as hard as you can." He said comfortingly, grasping her hand with the one that wasn't around her shoulder. It was lucky, he thought, that the fireworks were still going on. No one would stumble upon them or interfere, and certainly no one would hear anything.

Gaara felt Gemini sliding her hand over his and turned to look at her for a second, the lights from the fireworks showed that she had a blush on her face, or so he assumed. Then again, it could have been just the colors reflecting. Deciding to think upon it later, he went back to watching the experience.

"T-thank Na-ruto-kun..." Yugito said between pained gasps. Matatabi said it was going to hurt, but she didn't think it would be this bad...the transforming girl broke into a fever as sweat covered her face. Gritting her teeth in pain, she squeezed Naruto's hand hard as another wave of pain erupted from the seal and crashed into her body...

Yugito opened her eyes slowly and saw Naruto sleeping next to her, his hand still within hers...or would it be her new paw? Shaking her head lightly at the thought, she was glad she didn't have to worry about all of her new senses bothering her. Still very sore, she was glad that the worst of it was over...

Naruto was woken by his own snoring, startling himself and sitting up. "Huh? Wha? I wasn't sleepin'..." He said groggily, before noticing that his hand was still wrapped around Yugito's. Then he saw Yugito. "Whoa...Kitty-chan..." He breathed.

Yugito blushed when she heard Naruto. "Foxy-kun?" she asked, unsure of what he was thinking...

Naruto blinked a few times, and turned slightly pink. "You...you have cat ears...and a t-tail..." He trailed off, mumbling something that sounded like "really cute." He didn't expect her to hear that part, but failed to take into account that her hearing might be better now.

"Y-you think they're cute?" she asked softly.

The blonde turned a deeper shade of red. "Oh..y-you heard th-that...hehe...well, yeah, I think they're...cute." He said quietly, in a rare display of shyness.

Meanwhile back in the hotel where the sand siblings were staying, Gemini woke in the bed next to Temari's, slightly confused. She remembered the fireworks, and leaning her head on Gaara's shoulder...Ah, I must have fallen asleep, and Gaara-san brought me back. She realized, sitting up. Glancing at the clock, her eyes widened and she jumped up. "The final exam! It's in one hour!!" She shouted, and ran to get dressed.

Yugito giggled lightly as she watched Naruto's cheeks turn a deep shade of red, a small blush on her own cheeks. "Thanks Naruto-kun," she said as she yawned lightly. The transformation took a lot out of her.

Temari had let Gemini sleep in, knowing that she had a good time with her brother watching the fireworks. Though she was curious as to if she was bold enough to ask to be his girlfriend or not just yet. Seeing that there was only an hour left, she was about to go back into the room and wake the vixen up, but didn't have time to do so.

Naruto rubbed the back of his head, before noticing the position of the sun. "Hey...we better get ready, the final exam starts soon!" He said, forgetting his earlier embarrassment in favor of excitement for his fight.

Gemini rushed out of the room just as Temari was about to walk in. She was dressed, and was pulling on her shoes. One shoe was secure, but she was hopping while trying to pull on the other one, resulting in a comedic situation when she crashed and fell out of the room rather than walking. Sitting against the wall, she shook her head to clear it and saw Temari standing there. "Oh...good morning, Temari-san."

Temari couldn't help herself as she started laughing, as she had seen Gemini fall comically onto the ground. Once she was done, she noticed the light glare on Gemini's face. "Sorry," was all that she said before helping the vixen up off the floor.

Yugito gulped lightly before nodding, knowing that she was ready for her opponent. What she wasn't ready for, however, was the reaction she would get from the audience when she showed up as a neko...

Gemini sighed and accepted the wind mistress' help, chuckling a little bit herself. "It's okay, I probably would have laughed, too. Is there anything to eat? Gotta get my strength up for my fight." She said, excitement shining in her eyes.

Naruto led her back to his apartment, where he quickly made some toast and cereal for them to eat before they left. "Are you ready to take Gemini-chan? It's gonna be an intense fight, with you two..."

"Yeah, it will be. And I have a feeling she'll be surprised about me being a neko now," she said with a slight laugh. 'Also...I hope I prove my worth to her. I want to stay with Foxy-kun...' she thought before smelling the breakfast being made.

"There's still a few things in the mess hall, but I would get something quick to eat, an apple or some other sort of fruit," Temari replied, wondering how today would go. She hated to keep a secret from her friend, but she knew that if Gaara hadn't told her, then neither should she.

Naruto grinned. "She won't be expecting it, that's for sure." He said, setting their breakfast down on the table. He couldn't wait to see the fight, though he didn't know who he was going to root for.

Gemini nodded. "That was the plan." She said, standing up and dusting herself off. Giving a casual salute to her friend, she ran off towards the mess hall, hoping to get a couple apples at least.

"No she won't, and thanks for breakfast," she added, once again thankful for Mata-chan's training as Naruto set down their breakfast. The Hellcat Queen had wanted Yugito to start calling her mother after the transformation, but she declined citing that it would be too weird, especially after calling her "Mata-chan" for so long. Shaking her head lightly, she started eating since she knew that she was going to need the food if she wanted to win.

Temari just shook her head before heading back towards the main arena, though she was wondering why they didn't clue her in on the invasion. 'Is it because she's a Konoha konoichi?' she mentally asked. Knowing that no one could hear the question, she shrugged lightly before rejoining her brothers. "Sleeping Beauty is up and currently grabbing something to eat. I'm quite curious how your girlfriend will do against Blondie's girlfriend Gaara-kun," she said with a small giggle. What? As the oldest, she was allowed to tease her younger siblings.

Naruto smiled as he started on his breakfast. "It's no problem, Kitty-chan. Just don't get mad at me if I don't cheer for anyone during your match, okay?" He said, looking a little worried. He had decided that since he couldn't cheer for both girls, he just simply wouldn't cheer at all.

After grabbing two apples, Gemini dashed off towards the arena. By the time she got there, she'd finished one, and was almost done the other. She found the sand siblings and joined them. "Sorry I'm late, I had to fight off a dude for the last two apples. Guy had three pancakes, a waffle and several pieces of french toast, all covered in syrup on his plate, and he's going "But I need the apples for my teeth!" And I'm thinking, dude, you barely have any teeth left at all, might as well lost the rest with all that sugar." She said conversationally, finishing off the second apple. "I had to use a shadow clone to trick him and get away."

"It's because I'm fighting your sister, right?" she asked after swallowing. She hoped that was the case and would cheer her on with her other matches. She would definitely be cheering him on during his matches.

The three sand siblings listened to her tale and once she was finished, Gaara stayed silent while Temari and Kankuro were just shaking their heads in amusement. "That's...actually kinda sad Gem-chan," Temari replied after a bit. Seriously though, who ate all that for breakfast? Even shinobi and kunoichi didn't eat that much...

The blonde nodded solemnly. "I just can't cheer for one of you over the other, dattebayo. And I would look stupid cheering for both...but with every other match, I'm on your side all the way. I promise." He assured her with a smile and a thumbs up. He had finished his breakfast and was ready to go. "Hey, come on we're gonna be late!"

Gemini just laughed. "Yeah, well, that's life right? If you don't laugh you cry." She said with a shrug. She noticed that almost everyone else had showed up and were lining up in the center of the arena. The only exceptions were Naruto and Yugito, and Sasuke. Naruto she knew would show up, probably with Yugito, but she worried that Sasuke wouldn't. Had he decided not to face Gaara? How would that go over? Glancing at the redhead, she decided probably not well. She hoped he showed up.

Yugito's eyes widened as she finished her breakfast quickly. Once she was ready, she noticed that they only had about an hour or so left until the exams started. With Naruto first to go...if they didn't make it, then he would most likely be disqualified. If that happened then she knew Gemini would take it out on her. "The let's go!" she shouted before rushing towards the door.

'This isn't good. If Sasuke doesn't show up for Nii-san's fight, then how will the invasion start?'Temari asked herself, not knowing that Kankuro was having the same thoughts as she was. Not only that, but she knew Gaara would not be happy about just moving onwards. If anyone had a chance against him, Temari had a feeling that it would be the blonde kid. Speaking of which..."Hey, where's your brother and his girlfriend?"

Naruto didn't bother saying another word, he just ran for the door. He stopped long enough to lock it behind him, then dashed off behind Yugito towards the arena where all the other genin had already gathered.

Gemini shrugged. "I haven't seen Naruto all month. But if I had to guess, I'd say he woke up late, just finished breakfast and is rushing here right now, probably with Yugito-chan along with him." She said.

"Made it," Yugito breathed quickly as she reached the front doors of the Arena. Showing her ninja license, the guard let her through and into the area for the potential Chunin, hoping that Naruto was right behind her.
