Yugito saw an immersive wave of darkness surround her, instantly knowing that this was genjutsu and tried canceling it.

Gemini, from her vantage point, saw that Yugito was trying to dispel the genjutsu, and shook her head. She kicked it up to the second level, where the target would start hearing and seeing visions from their nightmares. "You'll have to work harder to dispel this genjutsu, Yugito-chan. It's my own creation." The vixen's voice radiated through the darkness, coming from everywhere and nowhere all at once. What made Nightmare Syndrome so hard to dispel was the way that it blacked out all five senses, making everything confusing.

Yugito looked around, wondering where the voice was coming from. She knew it was Gemini that spoke before seeing someone that she thought she'd never see again. "No way...you're dead! Both of you!"

"Look Rai, the cat slut actually became a neko..."

Gemini winced. She didn't like to watch other people's worst fears. She bit her lip, steadying her chakra as best she could. The genjutsu was draining her chakra fast. If Yugito didn't faint or surrender soon, Gemini would collapse and lose. However, the fact that she's made it this far through the jutsu speaks volumes. This girl is something special... She thought.

Yugito grit her teeth as the lightning whip struck her again. Shotaro had captured her with his seals and Rai had taken the advantage of her being unable to move to full advantage as he "punished" the naughty cat. The only reason she wasn't crying out in pain was because she knew it wasn't real...even if her senses were telling her otherwise. She just hoped that one of her true fears wouldn't come true...

Gemini's sigh was cut off by a cough. She had held the genjutsu too long already, and it was taking it's toll. There was only one thing left to do. Shifting her hand seal, she kicked Nightmare Syndrome into stage three, the final stage where the deepest fears were revealed and experienced to their full extent. Neither of them would win this battle. "This is it. I apologize for what you are about to go through." Gemini's voice rang out again, filled with regret and exhaustion, as the genjutsu took it's full force.

Naruto knew what Gemini was doing and held the railing hard with his fists, his knuckles turning white as he did so. He just hoped that whatever it was that Yugito was seeing within that genjutsu didn't traumatize her. And if it did...he hoped that he could do whatever it took to help her get back to her normal self.

Yugito looked at her two former teammates with fear on her face. Not only had they beaten her, sealed away her chakra and whipped her, but now that they had discarded their clothes and had pretty much destroyed hers...she knew what the next thing would be...and there was nothing that she could do to stop it. "N-no. Stay back!" she shouted out, but they didn't listen as they shortened the distance...

Though she wasn't watching, Gemini suddenly knew exactly what was happening to Yugito. Horrified, she instantly dispelled it. She could never do that to someone, even if it wasn't real. She knew the experience, and would never force anyone to go through it. She approached Yugito, who appeared fine on the outside, and stopped a safe distance away. "I'm sorry. I never imagined it would get that bad. Do you wish to continue our fight, or-" Her sentence was cut off by a sharp cough, ending with a small bit of blood on her lips. Yep, she had definitely overdone it with the genjutsu.

Yugito shuddered lightly as the genjutsu was removed. Barely hearing Gemini's words, she knew that she couldn't continue. Not with the way that that genjutsu had screwed with her psyche. The images of her almost rape were still fresh within her mind and she knew that she wouldn't be able to focus on the fight anymore. As she said the words, "I forfeit" she noticed that Gemini had fallen unconscious as well. 'A draw...though what was that genjutsu of hers?' she wondered before she, herself, finally blacked out as well.

The sight of both his sister and his girlfriend fainting had Naruto ready to scream. The second the proctor called the match a draw, the blonde was jumping down to the arena to see how they were. Looking back and forth, he decided to check Yugito first, knowing that Gemini's woulds were only physical and would head quickly. "Kitty-chan! Wake up, come on...please be okay..."

Yugito slowly started waking up after hearing Naruto's voice, knowing that he was safe. "F-foxy-kun?" she asked softly, hoping that he was actually there next to her.

Naruto sighed in relief. "I'm here, Kitty-chan. C'mon, let's get you back up to the stands." He said, helping her up very gently.

Gemini slowly woke as her internal wounds healed. Looking around, she saw Naruto tending to Yugito. She stood up slowly and made her way towards them. "Yugito-chan. I apologize again for what you saw. You did very well when faced with my technique. I am proud to see my brother go out with you. I approve completely. Just remember that if you ever hurt him, I will not stop the jutsu." She said, before disappearing and reappearing in the stands next to Gaara.

Naruto blinked and looked at Yugito. "What was that all about? Was she testing you?"

Yugito let Naruto help her up as her danger sense started going off when Gemini came near. She knew mentally that the battle was over, but the fear in her heart was still fresh as well. It was because of her fragile mental state and Naruto with her arm over his shoulder the only things keeping her from bolting.(pun not intended) She listened to Gemini speak as a soft smile came on her face."Thanks...and if that ever happens, I'll come to you and take my punishment. You won't have to go looking for me," she replied before Gemini left to the stands. Hearing Naruto's question, she winced lightly. "She wanted to make sure...that I was good enough for you. She didn't want...she didn't want me to be like the others in the past," Yugito explained, hoping that he wasn't mad at Gemini or herself because of that.

Gaara had a light frown on his face when he saw the technique but hadn't intervened, knowing that she was trying to win the match and prove that she was ready for the next rank. However, he was surprised when she ended it early and fainted. He was about to go down their and help her up, just like Naruto was doing with the Nibi's container 'though why/how did she become a neko?' the stray thought entered his mind, before he saw Gemini getting up under her own power. Once she was back next to him, the frown was still on his face. "I thought I warned you about using that against a fellow Jinchuuruki Gemini-san," he said, using the suffix to show that he was displeased with her actions.

Naruto frowned slightly. "Oh. Well...okay then. I just wish you'd told me about it. You know I'd be with you anyway, even if Gemini-chan didn't approve." He said, though he was glad that his sister did approve. It made things much easier. Naruto helped Yugito up and started back towards the stands.

Gemini flinched slightly. "I tried to keep it at a low level. I only kicked it up at the end when I realized I was going to faint anyway. But I had to stop it...I couldn't let that happen." She said apologetically, though she didn't state exactly what she couldn't let happen. "Please don't be too mad at me."

"I know you would have Foxy-kun," she replied softly. "I...I saw my teammates again, in that genjutsu of hers," she muttered softly as they made their way back up the stands.

"What caused you to stop it?" he asked after he heard her apologize and ask for him to not be mad at her. He would think upon it for a little bit, but knew that he wouldn't stay angry at her for long.

Naruto swore under his breath. "I'm sorry, Kitty-chan. I really am. You don't have to tell me what you saw. That jutsu is...it's terrible. Even Gem-chan has admitted that." He said warily.

Gemini bit her lip. "I...I'm not sure if it's okay to tell you...but, Yugito-chan was about to see...to experience...something no one should ever have to...rape..." She spoke the last word quietly, almost as if afraid to say it.

"Then why does she use it...?" Yugito asked softly as she wrapped her tail around Naruto. She would be glad to be up in the arena with Naruto next to her. After that attack on her psyche, she needed a nap and knew that Naruto's chakra/youki would keep the nightmares away.

Gaara nodded at that and knew why she had ended the technique. His uncle had explained that to kunoichi, rape was worse than death. "You still shouldn't have used the higher levels, even if she was about to break out of it." Gaara said before pausing for a few seconds. After that, he told Gemini that he had forgiven her, knowing that she was just trying to win her match.

Naruto shook his head. "It's usually a last resort move only. She tries not to use it if she can help it. I'm guessing she only used it this time as a test, and because she knew you'd survive it."

Gemini nodded, looking properly chastised, but seemed to perk up greatly when he said he forgave her. "Thank you. Hey, Kankuro-san's match is up next." She said, realizing that both Kankuro and Temari had matches back to back. She was surprised, however, When Kankuro forfeit his match. "What? Why would he do that? Kankuro-san isn't one to just give up." She said, watching Temari try to decide whether to fight or not. Soon enough the wind mistress decided to have her match, if only to keep from looking suspicious. "It's like he's stalling for time or something..." Gemini grumbled, having no clue how right she was.

On the other side of the stands, Naruto was giving Shikamaru some...encouragement to start his fight. This meaning that he had pushed the shadow user into the arena and started yelling at him to get his lazy ass up.

'He still isn't here yet. Father said that I was to wait for the signal in our match to start the invasion...' he thought silently as he watched his sister float down to the arena floor.

Yugito giggled lightly at the action. "Foxy-kun, I think I'm gonna take a little nap. Wake me when it's your turn again, please?" she asked not realizing she was using the Kitten Eyes at him, which was similar to the Puppy Dog Eyes.

Naruto cringed at the irresistible kitten face, and rolled his eyes. "Okay, Kitty-chan. Don't worry, I'll protect you while you sleep." He said with his signature foxy grin.

Gemini glanced at Gaara, noticing that he seemed rather agitated. "Gaara-san...are you okay?" She asked tentatively, hoping the redhead wasn't getting overexcited about his match.

"Thanks Foxy-kun," Yugito said as she made herself comfortable against her boyfriend before quickly falling asleep. Just being next to him was enough to keep the nightmares awaay as she had peaceful dreams, though she wouldn't remember them when she awoke.

"I am fine, but I'm curious as to where my opponent is. I want to test the fruits of our training," he replied.

"No problem." Naruto said, keeping a close eye on the neko while watching the match down below.

Gemini bit her lip. "He'll be here. If I know anything about Sasuke-san, I know that he'd never pass up this chance."

Yugito cuddled close to him, subconsciously wrapping her tail around him.

"Aw...how touching. Your girlfriend is subconsciously wanting your warmth..." The Kyuubi said with a light chuckle.

"I trust you," Gaara replied.

Naruto rolled his eyes but otherwise ignored the fox. He did not need those thoughts right then. Instead he focused on Shikamaru's fight, where the shadow user seemed to be maneuvering the wind mistress.

Gemini smiled slightly and watched the fight. She had to admit that both sides were doing well. She knew Shikamaru would, since he was a bloody genius. But...wait, was he giving up?! "Holy crap you lazy asstard!! You had her beat! Oh my God what the hell?!" The vixen screamed, pretty much echoing the rest of the crowd, who were currently throwing food and trash.

Naruto made a shadow clone to stay with Yugito, and jumped down into the arena to scream at Shikamaru. Even after Temari went back to the stands, the blonde was berating his lazy friend.

While everyone was calming down from Shikamaru's forfeit and waiting for Sasuke to arrive, suddenly there was a storm of leaves in the middle of the arena. When it cleared, Kakashi and Sasuke were there, standing back to back. The proctor asked who they were, and the raven haired boy smirked. "I'm Sasuke. Sasuke Uchiha." He replied. Meanwhile, Kakashi was making sure they made it in time.

Gemini huffed. "Blasted show-off, just had to make a huge entrance. Gaara-san, do us all a favor and crush his nuts so he can never have children, okay?"

"I suppose I could do that," he said, hoping that she would be put to sleep with the genjutsu that would take place during their match. He didn't want to see Gemini looking at him when he betrayed her and started attacking the village that she loved.
