"Oh you will, will you? Then show me your resolve..." Gaara said as more sand covered his body. Soon he would be looking like a miniature Shukaku and then he could let the real fun begin...

From her vantage point, Gemini swore. Temari, beside her, had lost all sense of reason in the face of panic. No help from that section... She thought, trying to think of what to do. Biting her lip, she decided the direct approach was best. So, without further thought, the young kitsune jumped onto the branch where Gaara was standing, landing directly in front of him. She planted her feet, a look of determination on her face. "Gaara-san, this has to stop, now!" She said. I'm a dead woman. a tiny voice whispered in her mind.

Naruto gritted his teeth and was about to launch an attack when, out of nowhere, Gemini jumped in. The fox boy nearly choked. "Gemini-chan, get the hell out of there!"

Gaara's eyes widened as Gemini stepped in front of him, worry and surprise within his eyes.

Gemini glared stubbornly at the boy, who was only inches from her. "I'm not scared of you. Not even like this." She said simply, knowing that one sentence would have more effect than anything else she could say.

Unfortunately, Naruto decided at that moment that she was in too much danger. He created a shadow clone and had it dash towards her, pick her up, and carry her away. "Sorry, Gem-chan, it's for your own good." Trying to ignore her angry shouts, the blonde looked back at Gaara. "I don't know what you did to make her like you so much, but this kind of betrayal won't go unpunished." He said, clearly believing that the redhead had fully betrayed Gemini. With that, the fox boy leaped at the redhead, intent on attacking.

"Finally," Yugito muttered as the fire turned the sand that was holding Sakura to the tree to glass. Quickly shattering and catching the girl before placing her on the ground. Turning she sees Naruto placing Gemini down next to them, also seeing the glare in her eyes as he does so. "Gemini?"

Gemini shoved the shadow clone, punching it so hard that it poofed away almost instantly. "BASTARD! I had it under control! That idiot blonde fox moron dumbass half-wit stupid jerk!!" She yelled in frustration, along with a stream of curses in several languages that would make a sailor blush.

Meanwhile, Naruto was starting to think he should have left it to Gemini. His opponent was nearly fully transformed, and the blonde had managed only one good hit- with an explosive kunai and the thousand years of pain move that Kakashi had once used. He had even tried a summoning, but of course with his luck he'd only gotten a tiny squirt of a toad with a smart mouth.

Yugito hissed lightly in anger, hoping to get the fox girl's attention. Not only was she berating her future mate, but she was unsure as to why she was this way towards him.

Hearing the hiss, Gemini suddenly realized that Yugito was there, and turned to her. "I apologize for that little tirade. It's just that my knuckleheaded brother decided to play hero without knowing what was going on. I had it under control, dammit! I almost had him calmed down, and Naruto just had to step in...and now we're all fucked. Pardon my language." She said, just as a huge explosion took place and, where Gaara had been previously, there stood the ugliest twenty-story-tall demon on the face of the planet.

"...You do realize that we wouldn't be in this mess if you hadn't stopped Gemini, right kit?" Kyuubi asked as he gave Naruto a little bit of his chakra. He knew that if Naruto was to win he would have to do one of two things: Either summon the boss of the toads or temporary become the Kyuubi no Yoko, both which would need his youki.

"Sorry, I just didn't like hearing you badmouthing Naru-koi," Yugito admitted. She knew that Gemini deserved to badmouth him, but her newly formed demon side wasn't listening to reason.

Gemini sighed. "I understand. Now, if you'll excuse me, I have to go help Naruto-kun. He won't know how to handle this...ass-ugly problem." She shuddered at the sight of the demon. This was nothing compared to when it spoke, however. "What. The. HELL?! What kind of voice is that for a freakin' demon?! It's...it's...ridiculous!" She exploded as she jumped up onto the head of the boss toad with Naruto.

Naruto grumbled at Kyuubi but otherwise paid no attention as he was forced to try another summoning. This time, it was Gamabunta. Gemini leaped up beside him, and he had to agree with her statement. What followed was a semi-embarrassing argument with the boss toad, which was settled by Gamakichi- who turned out to be the boss's son. "Alright boss, let's get him!" They raced forwards, trying to grab hold of the sand demon, but the toad couldn't get a grip on him. It was decided that they would do a joint transformation. "Just think of something with fangs and claws!" Gamabunta yelled. Naruto panicked. Fangs and claws, fangs and claws, fangs and claws...uh... Luckily, the end result was a copy of the nine-tails.

Keeping hold, Gemini stayed along for the ride while Naruto made the transformation jutsu. As soon as they had a grip on the sand demon, Gemini stepped up and went to punch Gaara awake. "Wake up you dumbass!!" She shouted, sliding down the demon's snout.

((Yes, Wolfie changed it a little so that Gemini wakes him up. It's all towards a common goal of her confession.))

Gemini's words pierced through the technique that he had used to fall asleep and could already hear the Shukaku going back into it's seal. After that, Gaara started falling. He was too drained in order to bring the sand to protect him from the fall and knew that this would be the last of him. "Gemini-chan...I'm sorry," he whispered as he closed his eyes, waiting for the impact that his body would have on the earth.

Seeing Gaara start to fall, Gemini dredged up as much chakra as she could to jump forward and catch him. She didn't quite manage it, but she did manage to get under him and break his fall. "Ouch...Gaara-san? Are you okay?" She asked, slightly breathless from the fall and from having the redhead on top of her.

"Ugh...Gemini?" he asked as he felt someone underneath him.

Gemini managed a chuckle. "The one and only." She said. "Baka. If I wasn't pinned right now, I'd smack your head against Naruto-kun's." She added, though there was no real anger in her voice. Somehow, her hand found his and squeezed it gently. "Gaara-san...I love you."

Gaara's face showed confusion all over it, confusion and surprise. "Y-you love me? But why? I've hurt you so much..." he said, ending with a whisper that only Gemini could hear. He was so disgusted with himself at having let the Shukaku use his body to hurt the people that he loved and while he didn't hurt Temari and Kankuro physically with the Bijuu, he knew it had to have hurt them mentally.

Still underneath the redhead, Gemini reached her arms around and hugged him. "You haven't hurt me at all. In fact, you've helped me more than anyone else ever has, besides Naruto-kun. I understand you feel guilty but...think about it. I was standing directly in your path for over a minute. Plenty long enough to get me hurt or even killed. And you did nothing. I did that because I knew you wouldn't hurt me." She finally managed to move out from underneath him, but kept her hand in his. "I've been trying to think of a way to tell you how I felt for ages now. Maybe right now isn't the best time or place, but...there it is. I love you, Sabaku No Gaara. Even if you never feel the same about me, as long as you're happy, then I'm happy. I love you."

"I still don't understand..." he muttered. He was happy that he had not harmed Gemini physically, but somehow knew that she was angry at him and his siblings due to their betrayal.

As if reading his mind, Gemini frowned. "I still want a full explanation as to why my village was attacked. I believe you were about to tell me all about it, just before Sasuke-teme showed up." She said, trying to be objective. There might be a perfectly legitimate reason why they had completely betrayed her. "The first thing I want to know is...was it ever real? Our friendship? The time we spent together? Was it real, or just an act to get me to trust you?"

Gaara's head shot up and looked at her with shock evident in his eyes. 'She thinks I was just using her?!' he asked himself before quickly denying the claim. "No! It wasn't like that Gemini-koi. The three of us were forced not to tell you, especially me! If anyone hinted at the invasion...or if I told you, then Baki-sensei would kill you! I...I didn't want you to die Gemini-koi..." he shouted at first, before his voice got soft, almost soft enough for the vixen to not hear him. In his confession, he hadn't realized the suffix he gave her.

Gemini blinked rapidly at the vehemence of this statement. He had been protecting her? Sudden;y, her mind caught up and realized what he had called her. Naturally, she blushed a deep crimson. "So we really were friends, then? You cared enough to do that...Gaara..." Her voice had also lowered to match his tone. She didn't realize that she had not used an honorific- something you only did with someone very close. "Ah...your siblings are here. They'll take you away...I don't know when I'll see you again." She said sorrowfully.

Temari didn't know what they were talking about, but she did hear the last few words. "Actually, before we found out that our father was dead, he was able to make a deal with the Hokage," Temari said, not knowing that it was because the Kyuubi had threatened the Hokage during the one month break. She didn't know if it was still legit, but if she wanted to go with them to Suna, then she could go, as long as she didn't give any information about Konohagakure to Sunagakure.

Gemini looked up at the blonde wind mistress, eyes shining with barely concealed hope. Could she really dare to think that her wish could come true? "W-what kind of deal?" She asked, trying not to get her hopes up.

Laying on the forest floor nearby, Naruto smiled. "I think they're saying you can go with them, sis." He said weakly, chuckling at the look the vixen gave him. "It's okay. Do what makes you happy. I'll be fine here, and it's not like we'll never see each other again."

The young neko helped Naruto to his feet, hoping that he would be okay. She knew that Kurama would heal his wounds, but wasn't sure what else was going on. In all honesty, she wanted to stay here with Naruto...

'Kitten, do you think Kurama-kun is the only one who went to a Kage?' The Nibi asked, causing Yugito to widen her eyes with hope. She just hoped that this wasn't a cruel trick being played. Hearing the wind mistress from sand calling Naruto 'Whiskers', she hissing lightly to show just what she thought of her giving him a nickname.

"That's actually it Whiskers," she said before noticing Yugito hissing at her and stopped.

Naruto grinned widely. "Relax, Kitty-chan. It's okay. Gemini-chan, I guess I'll see you around. Remember to write, okay?" He said.

Gemini gulped and nodded, still taking in the news. "I will. I promise." She said, as it finally sank in. She was going to live in Suna with Gaara and his siblings. She started to smile as the realization hit her. "Hey, Yugito-chan! Take care of my brother, would you?"

Yugito nodded lightly, still trying to take in the news that Matatabi had talked to the Raikage as well. She also wouldn't be surprised if Kurama talked about her as well when it came to talking to the Hokage. "I'll make sure to take care of him, Nya~" she said, too excited to keep her verbal tic in check.
