Naruto nodded. "It was a good lesson. Of course, Sasuke-teme and I still had trouble with teamwork even after that, but we're learning. Someday, I hope to be able to use that test for my own students." He said.

Gemini nodded. "That's a good point. But there are foxes that live in the desert and survive just fine. If I stay a human during the day and transform at night, I can live on less food and water, stay cool in the day, and my fur will keep me warm at night. I just need to be smart about my transformations." She said.

"Yet you're still all a team somehow" Yugito responded, knowing that if he wanted a team of his own someday then she would help him get it.


"If you plan on being full human, perhaps Kankuro should test you for poison resistance...just in case," Gaara suggested. He thought it was smart for her to control her transformations the way that she planned, but if she was killed because her human form couldn't kill off the poison...

Naruto nodded. "We learned, and we're still learning. But after all this time, one thing we all know is that we work well together. And the three of us have become pretty close. Kinda like...friends." He said, a tiny smile on his face.

Gemini nodded. "That's a good idea. It would be a stupid mistake to train for everything else, and then die because I didn't plan for one thing." She said. She was glad to have them helping her. On her own, she might not have thought of these things.

What do you mean 'kinda'? I thought you could be a friend or not be a friend," Yugito replied, wondering what Naruto meant.

"That's what we're here for," Temari responded.

Naruto blushed a little. "Well, Sakura-chan is a friend, but Sasuke-teme is a bit...difficult. I guess he's my friend, but at the same time, he's my greatest rival. We're always competing and fighting with each other. Anyone watching would think we hated each other. But Sasuke-san and I work best together, and each of us has nearly died saving the other. We're linked somehow, like friends would be, but at the same time, we can't stand each other." The blonde tried to explain his relationship with Sasuke, though it was difficult.

Gemini smiled. "Great. Then it's a good thing you are here." She said, sitting back down. "So, let's get started. Kankuro-san, how do you test for poison resistance?" She asked, getting straight to the point.

"That sounds a little like me and Karui-chan. While we always spar to see who's the better between us, with me always winning. And while she can't stand that fact, I can honestly say that Karui-chan is one of the few true friends I have that I can count on...and I can count all of those people on one hand," Yugito replied, hoping she understood correctly.

"The hard, and safe, way where we go through several tests and gradually build your resistance to poisons up, or we go the easy, and risky, way. Needless to say that I have antidotes made for any and all poisons as well, but I don't think they'll let you keep those, even if you have them on your body" he admitted.

Naruto nodded. "Yeah, that sound about right. Though Sasuke-teme would never admit to thinking of me as anything more than an idiot." He said with a chuckle. He didn't seem to care too much about that.

Gemini scratched behind her ear, thinking. Well, I've never been a patient person. And from what you've said, we have no idea when they'll toss me out there, so there might not be time to build up resistance. We'll just have to take the risk and try each one, see how I react. At least if I learn them now, I'll know what to avoid later."

"You aren't an idiot Foxy-kun. Reckless maybe, but not an idiot," Yugito said.

"Then the reckless way it is then," Kankuro said.

Naruto shrugged. "I'm just saying what Sasuke-teme says. I don't think I'm an idiot. But, thanks for believing in me, 'tebayo." He said with a smile.

Gemini raised a fist up in the air. "Hooray for reckless behavior!" She said, giggling.

"Good. And of course I believe in you Foxy-kun. What type of person would I be if I didn't?" she asked with a slight grin.

Gaara chuckled lightly at that as he shook his head. He wasn't even going to comment on that crazy statement from his girlfriend.

"The kind I'm used to." Naruto replied honestly, but shrugged. You're the best girlfriend ever, Kitty-chan." He told her, leaning forward to kiss her on the cheek.

"So, let's get started. Kankuro-san, you're in charge of this one, since you're the expert here. What do we do first?" Gemini asked, impatient to get started.

Yugito blushed lightly at the kiss before thanking him for the compliment.

"Well I was thinking of injecting the poison and seeing how it goes from there. This is the first time I've done this honestly," he admitted. Of course he would also have the antidote on hand. He wasn't that stupid.

Naruto chuckled. "It's the truth, after all. So...now what do you want to do?" He asked.

Gemini nodded and crossed her arms. "Sounds good to me. What poison are you going to try first?" She asked. She had to know in order to know which ones to avoid.

(hm...think we should have Jiraiya show up and say he has a mission for Naruto, and Yugito if she wants to tag along?)

"I was thinking of small then going up from there. Start with the sand spider and ending with the sand vipers, if we have the time to do so," Kankuro replied.

"Okay, then. Go ahead, I'm ready when you are." She said, rolling up her sleeve.

Just as Yugito was about to answer Naruto's question, she sighed lightly as she rubbed her temples lightly. "Ero-sannin, you have until the count of three to come in through the window or the door before I show you how real these claws of mine are," Yugito growled out. How did that man live with himself when he smelled like that?

Kankuro nodded as he pulled out a few vials, five for different sets of poison, five for their respective antidotes. Pulling a syringe out of his vest, he placed it in the bottle with the picture of the spider first. "You sure about doing it this way Gemini-chan? Last chance to back out," he said.

Naruto blinked. How had she...? Sniffing slightly, he suddenly realized how Yugito knew that the old man was there. "That's just gross, dattebayo! How did I never smell that before?" He said.

Gemini looked up with determination set on her features. "I'm sure. I don't back down, Kankuro-san. If I reconsidered now, it would just make me hesitate. No time like the present." She said, presenting her arm. She clearly wasn't going to change her mind on the subject.

"I resent that you two! I bathed for a long time before coming here, I'd have you know," Jiraiya said as he entered the room through the window. He was actually surprised to see that the rumors were true, Naruto was now a fox and Yugito was now a cat, not that it bothered him in the least.

"Just tell us why you're here Ero-sannin," Yugito said as she waited to hear what this man wanted. If it had something to do with his novels, then he would be getting blue fire to his face. That 'literature' of his was just pure trash in her eyes and honestly hoped that Naruto never touched the orange book.

"Just wanted to make sure," Kankuro said before pushing the spider venom into Gemini's blood stream. He had to admit that he was curious to see how it would react in her system, though he already had the antivenom and next venom ready for standby.

"It better not be anything about that trash you write. And I'm not hiding you from any angry girls, either!" Naruto said, crossing his arms. He had never met anyone who got into so much trouble just by being a pervert.

Gemini felt the poison start working almost instantly. "How strange...I feel it running through me, like a tingling." She said, staring at her arm where the injection wound had already closed. "Should there be any symptoms by now?" She asked. Right at that moment, a slight reddish glow enveloped her body. It flared brightly for a second, then died down. "It's gone! The poison just...dissolved."

"I'm not doing anything like that, at least not now. And besides, it's research!" Jiraiya said as he defended his livelihood. "I was actually wondering if you two wanted to help me find someone? An old friend known to all by Tsunade Senju" he added.

"That's actually interesting...seems like even in your human form you're immune to poisons. At least weak ones. Think we should go higher and see what happens?" Kankuro asked.

Naruto raised an eyebrow, but didn't comment on the "research" bit. "Tsunade, huh? So you are looking for a woman, after all. Well, if you say she's an old friend, she must be pretty old..." The blonde said, then sighed. "We've got nothing better to do, I guess. What do you think, Yugito-chan?"

Gemini nodded. "At this point, I think that's the only way to find out." She said, still marveling at the fact that she could feel the poison dissolve into her bloodstream. It was as if her body simply absorbed it.

"As a female, I don't trust you. But if you perverted Foxy-kun here somehow and I was unable to prevent it, then I would never forgive myself. I say we go," Yugito responded. She may not have liked the man, but she knew that the old woman had to have something to do with being the new Hokage. Other than that, she didn't think they'd ask to collect her after so long.

"Sounds like a plan then," Kankuro said as he placed the syringe filled with the snake venom towards Gemini's arm once again. "Ready?" he asked.

Naruto smiled. The old man would never corrupt him, but he was grateful to Yugito for caring. "Alright then, I guess we're going, 'tebayo." He said.

"Go for it." Gemini said, holding her arm still.

"Thanks, both of you," Jiraiya said as he told them to be ready within an hour or two and that he would be waiting at the Gates.

Kankuro nodded before pushing the plunger down on the syringe, the poison entering her bloodstream once more.

This time the response was stronger, and Gemini started shivering. "Okay, that feels like poison." She said as she started to sweat. Suddenly, the reddish glow was back, and when it was gone she was fine again. "This is too weird. It's like the poison does affect me, but then my body takes the venom and uses it to create an immunity. Like the way a rat can eat rat poison and slowly become immune, only faster. I wonder if it would take longer with stronger poisons."
