ElysiumFate: How is the flood stuff going? Is everything okay with you guys?

Kry! Lol your super hero dreams are awesome! You know, I used to dream I could fly quite often! I wonder what changed. I haven't dreamed anything like that since middle school or early high school. =/

Your grandma and Moses dream was awesome! I'm glad you're able to have good dreams about her. I've had dreams about my grandma who's also passed away. And I wake up crying with a wet pillow. It hasn't happened in a long time though, a couple of years at least.

I think that in dreams like that, where you can clearly remember them years later may have been true dreams. Your grandmother and Moses actually visited you while you were asleep. Just my theory though.

@Poppet: The flood has sucked. My family is okay and we didn't get flooded out, but our old neighborhood did. Also, it's really difficult to get anywhere because some roads are still closed and/or washed out, so it's like a maze to get to my school.

I feel really sorry for anybody who seriously has had any problems from it because the ones I just mentioned having aren't that bad.

Aw you're too kind. Yours is super lovely, so neat! Your hair colour is really nice too.
I've never experienced a scream dream but a lot of running ones. Sometimes in my dream I get angry that I can't run faster so I push off walls and surrounding objects to try and go faster, it's so funny thinking about it.

I Had a Dream...

Well, actually, more like a nightmare. It's semi-recurring but I haven't had it in the past year or so - but it's stuck with me this entire time. Short dream, big impact.

It's midnight, the moon a bright sliver in the sky and set off-centre in the sky above me, stars barely poking through the oppressive darkness. All around are dark and tall trees, evergreens mostly, that covered the area in shadows. Limp grass covered the ground, shrubs sparsely decorated the area.

I ran on a deer path, hard packed earth and pebbles beneath my bare feet. The air seemed to whip past my ears but all I could hear was the sound of my haggard breath. The silk white night gown that I wore was torn and dirtied but with what I don't know. All I know is that there is something chasing me, getting closer with each step. I have to get away no matter what - no matter what.

Glancing behind me yields no sight of my pursuer and it is with this backwards look did I seal my fate. My head whipped back around, heart pounding in my ears, when I took the final step off the edge of a cliff.

It took a while to realize what was happening, and yet it happened all too quickly. Falling -head first. I didn't have time to scream before the bottom of the canyon was in sight - along with a river. I had hoped it would've been deep enough to break my fall when I registered what was swimming below me - crocodiles. But as soon as I made this revelation one of the gigantic beasts turned it's jaws up and the last thing I saw were rows of sharp teeth -

And then black. A sharp journey back into the reality of my room, legs cramping and heart beating and breath loud in the air.

For some reason I feel like the Emperor's New Groove is at fault with the crocodile canyon part...

Ah! I have just the thing. While it wasn't particularly recent, I have had a dream that tends to occur when I'm incredibly ill. I'm walking through a city that is going up in flames. It isn't nearly as frightening as it ought to be, in fact, I'm oddly calm about the whole thing. It's as though I'm untouchable. The city itself is empty...or rather, I'm the only person in it as far as I can tell, and the two times that I've had this dream and woken from it, I've found myself unable to move for about a minute or so afterward.

Aaaaand there's my odd little contribution.

Herro everyone!!

@Seridano, that's so weird! Wolfie has a dream like that every time she has a fever. It starts in some dirty, smoky city that doesn't exist in real life. Something Wolfie may have read in a book possibly. There are these two people- or animals, it varies- and they take turns jumping off of a gigantic bridge into a filthy river below. They try to persuade Wolfie to jump, but she is too scared. Then the scene changes and Wolfie finds herself in what looks like a school cafeteria, with all the tables folded up along the walls. She get's down on her hands and knees and starts pulling up the floorboards, looking for something. She searches painstakingly, going inch by inch and making sure to miss nothing. As she searches, she becomes aware that not only does her back hurt, but that the room is becoming increasingly hot, as if the room had become an oven. But even though she is agonizingly thirsty and in pain, and the room keeps getting exponentially hotter, she won't stop searching. Soon the air in the room is wavy, like looking at the air above hot tar, and it feels as if the room is about to spontaneously combust. Wolfie will not stop searching, and by this time she is only a quarter of the way across the floor. The room actually bursts into flame at this point, and Wolfie is frantic, and just as she is being burned alive, she wakes up sweating in bed.
It's a terrifying dream, but Wolfie is always happy once it's over, because it means her fever has broken. The thing that Wolfie is looking for varies depending on the dream- one time, she kept finding Gameboy games that she somehow believed had belonged to her deceased father, and she had to keep looking for a certain game. Sometimes on the bridge, there is a huge mechanism halfway down that opens and closes, and jumping would have to be timed perfectly so as not to be crushed. Sometimes Wolfie starts off the dream as a cat in a junkyard, running from dogs. But the room is always the same.
......so there's Wolfie's recurring fever dream

Hey Magi!

Sorry I've been neglecting the thread everyone! I planned on sharing this nightmare I had about being stuck in a pool, like I couldn't get above the surface, like there was glass there or something. Then there were all these bodies. Anyway, I've been busy and my head isn't all here. I'll update this thang tomorrow or so.

Say whaaaa? For reals? Tell me about it! I may need to try it out tonight. My stepdad called me a couple of hours ago to tell me my mom was on her way to the hospital in an ambulance. Something about an anxiety attack. I can't leave because I have a sleeping toddler. I have a feeling I'm going to have awful dreams unless I stay up and exhaust myself into a dreamless state. I hate having bad family dreams. I always wake up crying, it's awful.

Oh, Wolfie knows what that's like. She also has had anxiety attacks before. It sucks.

Well, Wolfie read all about lucid dreaming online, after learning what it was called. See, when she was little, Wolfie saw a Blues Clues episode where they said you could control your own dreams. That always stuck with Wolfie. And throughout her whole life, Wolfie has had dreams where she knew she was dreaming, but she could never manage to control anything. So, after a thread discussion about it, she went and read up on it online, and found a guide to teaching yourself how to lucid dream! It's difficult, and even with a natural knack for it, ot takes a couple weeks to even see results, but once you do it's amazing! So far, Wolfie is working on having a lucid dream where she can simply jump up and fly, and keep flying. No gravity, no fear, just pure flight. If you want, Wolfie could find the article she read and link it here for you.

I haven't ignored you. I've honestly haven't been on Mene for probably a year. I don't remember what your name is before. o.O

I can tell you about this one nightmare that kind of occurs but not like an everyday occurrence. I'm in this dark forest, trapped and out of breath. There is this shadow figure chasing after me. Tall, about 7ft, hooded, arms and legs extended outwardly weird, also he had claws for hands. This creature would chase after me and once I reached out of the forest, it was really misty and dark, I hear a howl far beyond me. I look up and see the moonlight and this big fig tree or something. The moonlight hit the fig tree in such an ominous way that it looked well enough to be alive and it also scare the crap outta me. I hear the creature behind me coming out of the forest and I run towards the fig tree to hide but I trip and it's behind me, reaches for me and scratches my thigh. I then crawl away and before I know it, I wake up. :D

No worries, I usually just half ass glance at this site every couple days or so. Usually I'm pretty engrossed with work and/or gaming. Sometimes both.

How are you?

Naps are always good, boo for being grouchy though.
Usually if my sinus's are acting up giving me a headache or if I just have one for a random reason I take a long shower and that usually helps.

Anyone ever had dreams where they lived in they lived in fictional places or in the town of their television show? I dreamed I was sent to Craggy Island a night or two ago.

Today I had a dream about my niece annoying me with food on my bed while I was asleep in my dream. It was corn or the cereal Pops. I'm not sure. It was small, yellow and yummy tasting. She kept spilling it on my bed and I just couldn't deal with her, so I got up and walked out my room. I then awoke for real.

Yes, the Goats.

I had this dream. In the first part of the dream we are going around collecting giftbags with nothing in them. You know the run of the mill bright colored bags you buy to wrap presents in. After that we started to fill them with all sorts of random things anywhere from pig slop and horse shit, to stakes and peas and bananas. Really really random things. We then proceeded to whip them at goats so that they could eat them. Strangest dream....
