"Of course. I shall see you in a week or so, then," Xavier said. Now that the temp handler was gone, he was pretty certain things would be quiet again.

"I'll drop in when I get back," Autumn promised. "And I'll make the call to the temp now, make sure she knows what's going on. Have a nice evening, Charles."

"You as well," Charles said before he hung up and let her get back to work. He did, however, make sure every mutant in the house knew that the temp handler wouldn't be active anymore so they didn't have to be so blustery.

Autumn hung up and sighed a bit before calling her temp to inform her of the change. Then she flopped over on her bed.

Everything is taken care of, she texted to Pietro. You can relax now.

Where are you staying? Pietro texted back. I'm bored and I need a change of scenery.

Wanda's your sister and you're bored? Autumn asked in reply. I'm on vacation, Pietro. Nope, not whining at all.

She's gone off training, Pietro replied. And nope, he wasn't whining either. I know you're on vacation, that's why we had an idiot here.

Well, the idiot is no longer in charge. Something Autumn was sure they were all grateful for. You're really that bored?

Yes. Pietro was really that bored. And he didn't have anyone else to bother, especially since Autumn was much more tolerable than most people.

Autumn sighed.

Miami. She texted him the details.

That seems like a very resigned text, Pietro sent back cautiously. Because normally he wasn't such a dick as to be somewhere he wasn't wanted. Not with people he thought decently well of, anyway.

I would rather you come join me than me ending the week with a phone call telling me my replacement got herself kebab'd. Which was true. And the vacation has already been interrupted, and I doubt you can make as much of a disturbance as Stark can.

Stark's there? What, did he decide to vacation there? But Pietro was already throwing a bag together to go visit her.

Stark and Barton got bored and showed up, since their handler is on vacation with me. Autumn grinned a bit. Maybe you can help balance out the crazy.

Pietro snorted. I'll see what I can do. I'll be there in a few hours, then. He'd have to go let Charles know he was leaving first.

Let me know when you get here. With that, Autumn spread out on her bed and settled there with a sigh. Maybe she could catch a quick nap before Pietro got there.

It took Pietro a little longer than he'd estimated to get there, meaning he got there at almost midnight. By that time, Alexis had texted Autumn to tell her dinner had gone fine and she was going to bed to try to get some sleep. Pietro texted her about an hour after that to say he'd arrived outside the hotel.

Autumn was still up, going through some of the emails that had already started to reroute to her, so she had her phone handy.

Fifth floor, 506.

It didn't take Pietro long to get up there and knock on her door quietly. He had a bag with him, so he could stay for a few days.

Autumn got up and opened the door.

"Come on in," she said.

Pietro nodded his thanks, moving in and taking a quick look around.

"Nice place," he said quietly.

"SHIELD is good to us," Autumn said. "Make yourself comfortable, I was just going through my emails. Apparently my sub isn't happy about being essentially demoted to a paper-pusher."

Pietro snorted. "Too bad," he said ruthlessly. "It's much easier when you're not on vacation. Although I don't begrudge you needing one, I need to get away from them sometimes too."

"I just wish my replacement wasn't so incompetent," Autumn said. "Really, it's not a difficult job. Tedious, sometimes, but not difficult." She paused. "Well. Not counting Logan."

Pietro just snorted and shook his head a bit. "Everyone will be glad when you get back," he said with a shrug. "The kids miss you as well." Because clearly they'd all gotten used to her style.
