Pietro almost didn't clear the first one and flipped her off in passing, getting over the others okay after that.

Wanda laughed and left him to it, heading inside. Maybe she could go head off the Professor, if the man still intended to scold Autumn.

Fortunately after having had a few days for things to calm down and to think things over, Charles had given up on that idea, and was instead making sure everything was running smoothly while she recovered.

"I can try to take care of some of that, Professor," Wanda offered when she saw some paperwork on his desk. "It's kind of partially my fault there's so much of it."

Charles chuckled quietly. "If you want to help," he agreed, motioning to a seat. "So, is your brother still working himself out?" He'd been able to feel Pietro's agitation for most of the morning.

Wanda nodded as she sat down and picked up a pen.
"He's running, right now," she said. "Literally and figuratively."

Wanda quirked a grin.
"I did what I could," she said. "I shoved it in his face. Now he's just got to run in enough circles that he makes peace with it."

"Exactly," she said. "If he wants to wear himself out on the track in the meantime, well, I gave him some hurdles to jump."

A few weeks later, Autumn was just getting back on her feet. The bullet wound on her leg had gone through one of the thicker parts of the muscle, and it had taken that long just to heal enough that she could hobble around on a crutch. She was still off active duty, but she could at least get to her apartment now.

Alexis was spending most of her time at the tower keeping track of everyone. Her shoulder had healed up fine, and she was back on normal duty.
And then she got a text recalling all agents to the Triskellion immediately, and she frowned. There was no reason given. Something was going on.

Autumn had gotten the same message, and it immediately put her on alert. She looked at it for a moment before calling Charles. Even if it was nothing, she wanted the X-Men to be careful.

Charles picked up the phone a moment later. "Hello, Autumn," he greeted. Because of course he knew who it was.
Alexis glanced around to see who else was around and grumbled when she saw no one was. "Barton!" she yelled, glancing up at the vents habitually.

"Professor, listen," Autumn said. "Something odd is going on. I don't know what it is, but something's not right. I wanted to give you all a head's up." She hesitated for a moment. "I'll try to call again once I know what's happening."
Clint dropped down from the vent.
"You don't have to shout," he said. He was slipping his own phone back into his pocket. He was technically an agent, after all.

Charles frowned. "Do you need any help?" he asked. Something odd going on was not good, after all. For any of them.
"Sometimes you're a few floors down." Alexis shrugged. "Is Natasha still here?" She really hoped so. If she was, Alexis could corral her assets in one area and get them to stay put while she investigated. Hopefully.

"Not right now," Autumn replied. "Just... keep an eye out. If something seems strange, contact me. I'll try to keep you posted."
"Nat went to prep the jet," Clint replied. "We both got that weird message. They don't usually call people to the Triskelion, it's usually the Helicarrier or the Hub."

"I will. Stay safe." Charles frowned a bit and went to make sure everyone was rounded up and safe.
"Belay that order," Alexis said. "You two are on assignment right now. Rogers, too, if anyone asks. There's no emergency code with the message, so you're on assignment starting five minutes ago. Top priority. I need a full surveillance here." She pulled up a map and pointed to a coffee shop. "You are to sample everything, check the whole place out."

"I will," Autumn said. "You too." With that, she hung up and started to make her way to the Triskelion.
Clint snorted.
"A weird message from the higher-ups calling everyone on the field back in to the Triskelion?" he asked. "No, this whole thing smacks of something being off, there's no way we're letting you go alone. You might be able to talk Rodgers into sitting in a coffee shop, but even if we weren't with you, Nat and I still have to go. Specialists and all."

"Special assignment takes priority, especially if it came in before the call. There's no emergency code, no code at all actually, just telling everyone to get back to the Triskelion. Something is very wrong about all this and I'm not putting three of the most dangerous people on the planet in the middle of it." Alexis crossed her arms over her chest, eyes narrowed.

"We got the call individually," Clint replied. "Not as a group. So Nat and I are expected to be there, they'll wonder why we aren't when there's no official mission on file. And I'd rather be there to watch your back if everything goes to hell."

"Go." Alexis shooed him off and went to finish getting ready herself before meeting them outside so they could head down to the Triskelion.
