Charles sighed, looking weary. "Very well. We will have to see what we can do this time. If you could get me a copy of the current proposal of the bill?"

"I brought one with me," Autumn said, nodding. "Let's get coffee and settle in the study so you can go over it."

Charles nodded and, once they were armed with tea and coffee, headed into the study with her to go over it and start thinking of other ideas.

Autumn sat there quietly as Charles read the document.

"It's solid this time," she said once he'd read through it. "The government seems to be on board with it, with the way it's being pitched to the people in charge."

"Hmm." Charles underlined a few passages. "We may have some room to negotiate, we'll just have to be a bit creative. I'll ask Emma to take a look at this as well, look for any legal loopholes."

"Alright," Autumn said. Emma Frost was one of their best bets to get the Registration Act sent back again. "I'll keep you updated as I get information on my end."

"Very good. Thank you." Charles managed a bit of a smile before he went back to looking over the act.

Autumn smiled back a little, and then turned to glance at the door when she heard the general volume in the halls increase.

"Classes just let out, I think," she said.

"It does sound that way," Xavier agreed. "You should go greet everyone before they come looking for you." Because of course everyone knew when Autumn showed up.

"You mean before they send out a scout," Autumn said, grinning. "I'll be back, then." Getting up, she left the study and went to greet some of the students.

The students, of course, were all thrilled to see her, and made her sit and have another cup of coffee while they talked. The teachers ended up coming in too at some point, waving to her, or, in Logan's case, grunting at her as he fished a beer out of the fridge.

Autumn greeted everyone, and sat down to enjoy the coffee.

"So," she said after a minute, "I hear there are some new arrivals?"

"Indeed. Pietro and Wanda." Ororo smiled a bit. "I believe they're elsewhere at the moment, but if you stay for lunch they'll show up."

"I was planning to stay all day," Autumn said. She grinned. "I actually managed to clear my schedule for a whole day, it's practically a minor miracle."

"Well, very good," Ororo said. "Feel free to wander, if you like. I'll be supervising the children for now."

Autumn nodded.

"Thanks," she said. "I probably will." Finishing her coffee, she absently patted the coffee machine (testament to how used to weird shit she really was) and put her mug into the sink.

A few of the kids decided to start lunch, and then everyone else joined in. Including Pietro and Wanda. Pietro saw Autumn and nodded to her.

Autumn nodded back, going to watch the kids make lunch. She knew they wouldn't want her trying to supervise, since 'they could handle it' (Ororo was watching them, anyways), so she settled back down at the counter.

After a little bit of herding, Wanda and Pietro walked over to go greet Autumn properly.

"This is the one I met last night," Pietro told Wanda.

Wanda nodded a bit and looked at the other woman.

Autumn let herself be studied momentarily, and then spoke up.

"Agent Autumn Lennox, SHIELD liaison to the X-men," she introduced herself. "I handle the interactions between the X-men and other major groups."

"Ah. I see." Wanda nodded after a moment. "I am Wanda."

Pietro looked at her again. "I've been told these visits are normal," he said, not quite a question.

Autumn nodded.

"Good to meet you, Wanda," she said. She glanced at Pietro. "Yeah, I drop in every two weeks or so, just to keep everyone up to speed on everything. A lot of times, I get my hands on information that Charles doesn't, so I make sure to share it." She grinned a bit. "And I just like visiting."

Pietro and Wanda both nodded.

"I see," Pietro said.

"What else does your job entail?" Wanda asked, tilting her head to the side.

"For the most part, I act as a buffer between the X-men and everyone else," Autumn said. "I generally have a small herd of minions to do generic tasks, but anything directly involving the X-men has to include me as well. I handle PR, damage control, government inquiries, and general interactions with the X-men."

Pietro and Wanda both nodded.

"I don't envy you that job," Wanda said with a brief grin. "Sounds very boring most of the time."
