Alexis went after him, grinning. It was fun, and nonlethal, and they were just using pillows. No harm done.

Even when she managed to get him in the face.

Clint sputtered.

"Foul," he said, waving the pillow away. "No fair, feather pillows taste terrible."

"That implies that other types of pillows don't taste terrible," Alexis said with a grin, although she didn't attack him again. Yet.

"I speak from experience when I say cotton-filled pillows have no real smell or taste to them, but down and wool have a sort of funk to them that you can never really get rid of," Clint said promptly, grinning.

"This does not surprise me," Alexis said with a grin. "How many pillows have you had smashed into your face, Clint?"

"Plenty," Clint replied. He grinned. "Nat has a habit of throwing them at my face."

"I knew there was a reason I liked her," Alexis mused with a grin. "Even if she and you are..." She made vague but eloquent hand motions.

"We're not lovers, if that's what you're talking about," Clint said, sprawling out on the pillows again. "At least, not anymore."

"Seems like it sometimes." But Alexis relaxed a little. The flirting was fine, and daydreaming was one thing, but she hadn't realized he was actually available. Or at least that she wouldn't get killed by Natasha for trying. "So, not Natasha. Don't have anyone else stashed away somewhere?"

"Nope," Clint said. "I'm a free man." He looked at her and grinned a bit. "Why, interested?"

Alexis grinned and dodged the question.

"So, you're getting me my first pillow, and I'll have to find another decent place to put a pillow nest, since you stole the best spot already." And clearly she wasn't going back to her apartment.

"Better scope one out, then, because you're not getting mine," Clint said, grinning.

Alexis grinned a bit but didn't say anything, instead stretching out rather tauntingly and getting comfortable there.

"Oh, I don't know, I might just take this one over if you don't evict me. Which you'll be hard pressed to do."

Clint snorted.

"I could dig you out and carry you back downstairs if I felt like it," he said, getting comfortable too.

"Not if I really made it difficult you couldn't," Alexis said, though she made no move at all. "You'd have trouble then."

"I'd manage," Clint said. He stretched until his shoulders popped a bit. "You think I haven't had to push Nat out the door before?" Well. It had happened once. But hey, it still happened, he could claim it.

"I think Natasha let you push her out the door," Alexis said with a snort. Because she was pretty sure that between the two, if they were both determined, Natasha would win.

Clint shrugged.

"A win's a win," he pointed with a grin.

Alexis snickered. "True," she agreed mildly. "Most of the time anyway."

"Always counts around here," Clint said. He settled in a bit more. "A nap sounds like a good idea."

"Or just sleep," Alexis said with a grin. "It is just past midnight, after all. I bet the rest of the team is asleep by now in front of the TV."

"Ten bucks says Stark's still awake," Clint replied, grinning. "Possibly Rodgers."

"Tony sleeps once every two or three days, and he slept last night," Alexis pointed out. "And Steve might be awake, depending on what movie they were watching."

"So not everyone is asleep," Clint said. "Just most of them." He grinned a bit, teasingly.

Alexis rolled her eyes at him. "Shut up and join the majority," she grumbled, hiding a grin.
