"You sure you're fine?" Crystal asked, sitting next to her, though she kept half her attention on Remy.

"I'm sure," Paige said. "The granite was strong enough, I'm fine." She leaned on her friend a little in reassurance.

Crystal nodded and relaxed a bit. She was slowly calming down again; the game had been unexpectedly fun. She really hadn't expected to have that much fun with Gambit.

Remy strolled over to the girls after gathering up the last of his poker cards and stashing them in a pocket.

"Well, that was more fun'n expected," he said. "Not met another like Gambit in quite some time."

"I've never met someone else who does that," Crystal said, looking at him. "That was kind of fun." And she wouldn't object to doing that again at some point, either.

Remy grinned at her, more than a little flirtatiously.

"Well, perhaps we can work out a rematch," he said.

Crystal couldn't help but snort a bit. Really, he was a bit over the top with that. No wonder Raven said he flirted with everyone.

"Maybe," she said mildly. "Depends how long you're around for, I suppose."

"Gambit can be around as long as you like, cherie," Remy replied. "Don' have anywhere else to be."

"For now, let's give the kids time to settle down again," Crystal said. She wasn't quite willing to flirt with him, but she was certainly interested in a rematch. "As much as they ever do, anyway."

Remy chuckled.

"An' by the looks of things, another little monster'll be joinin' the ranks soon enough," he said.

"Another few weeks, I think," Crystal said. "According to Charles anyway." She shrugged. "As long as I'm not babysitting the newborn, I'll deal with the others."

"I don't mind babysitting the newborn, so we're good," Paige said.

"See, this is why we work. You take the newborn, I take the rest of the screaming horde." Crystal grinned a bit.

Paige grinned.

"Exactly," she said. "It all works out."

Crystal nodded and paused when her phone buzzed at her. Fishing it out, she frowned at the screen for a moment before she snorted.

"Charles wants tea but is buried under children," she said, getting up. "Guess we're in charge of tea today. You coming in or staying out here?" She switched her gaze to Remy.

Remy shrugged.

"Couldn' hurt to follow," he reasoned. He gestured to the door. "After you, cherie."

Crystal nodded and headed into the kitchen, setting the kettle on to boil and pulling out Charles' favorite tea. Clearly she was already fairly comfortable in the kitchen.

"What do you think, Paige, chocolate chip or just plain chocolate today?" She raised an eyebrow at her friend. Because of course there was a stash of cookies on top of the fridge.

"Chocolate chip," Paige said. "Definitely chocolate chip." She grinned. "God, remember when Charles made those? It was hysterical."

Crystal bit her lower lip, grinning. "That's because he's Charles," she said with a grin, reaching for the cookies. "And is hysterical and/or adorable all the time. Remind me to remind Erik to stop putting the cookies all the way in the back."

Paige snickered.

"He does that so he's the only one who can reach them," she pointed out. "Because Charles puts them in a tin."

Crystal pouted a bit and went to go get a chair so she could get the damn cookies.

"That was far too much work," she said with a little huff, putting them on the counter and going to go pour the water into the pot.

Paige couldn't help but laugh a bit as she went and set the cookies on a tray. Once the tea was ready, she picked up the tray and headed for the kitchen door.

Crystal let her go, instead making a second pot of tea for the two of them with their favorite blend.

Charles looked up when he heard the door open and he brightened upon seeing the tray.

"Thank you, you didn't have to, really, I would have been fine without tea for a few hours." But he smiled at her all the same.

"We know how you get when you miss tea," Paige teased a bit as she set the tray down.

Charles snorted and prepared his tea, grinning briefly.

"Thank Crystal for me as well. Are you going to sit and watch with us today?"
