Chocolate and Chai are the two that are hard for me to fully give up - as long as I'm careful, it's ok. For the most part it's caffeinated drinks that get me the worst. But I try to avoid, for the most part, anything with caffeine. It's more that I'm just severely intolerant, not allergic, as there really isn't such a thing as a caffeine allergy. I mean there is but there isn't. It's confusing.

Yes, there is caffeine in chocolate.

No, I have not, but honestly, there really is no real caffeine allergy, but there are symptoms that are similar to allergies, but in the big picture, it's not really an allergy, just an intolerance (a severe intolerance). I know that I can't stand it (found out the hard way) and that I just avoid it at all costs whenever I can.
But really, this is off the topic of writing... just saying, don't assume that all writers drink coffee or things with caffeine, there are some of us who can't have it because of intolerance or being allergic to it.

... just these last 2 hours, I was tidying up the stack of loose papers on my tables... and I still can't find my sketch of the building. :(
I want to draw a scene of it before Nano starts. A kind of 'get in the mood' exercise.

Gosh, now I started to second guess that whether that sketch exist or not. x.x

@nemo.love_22 The assumption being made was not that all writers drink coffee, but that coffee gives most people a boost/helps them concentrate. It does not really have an effect on me. I can (and have) had 2 double espressos and gone straight to sleep.
I only included coffee because if anytime would be the time to pick up a coffee habit, it would be during WriMo. Provided, of course, that one is not severely caffeine intolerant and that caffeine actually helps.

Sounds like your caffeine intolerance is a lot like my chemical hyper sensitivity to chlorine. I call it a chlorine allergy but it's not really.

An allergic reaction can look like a rash or, if it's serious, a rash/hives plus anaphylaxis.
Anaphylatic reactions can be life threatening because your throat closes up and your blood pressure can drop dangerously low. Caffeine is a drug though, so I think it's possible to count a bad reaction as being allergic it. Chlorine too, probably.

This is getting scientific... XD
I like it.

I like learning these things because I am not interested in studying them up in textbooks.

I really want to do this, as I had in 2011 and 2012. I've been busy with study commitments though, I'll probably aim for 10,000 words as a minimum since I hadn't managed to write that much in my other attempts.

At our place... November is a month of exams.
Don't think that is a good time for Nano. XD

It's the same here...November is a hectic time for students because the exams and final assessments need to be around this time. For those in their last year of high school, there is the extra pressure on them to do well if they want to go on to further study.

@Rette: Ehh, somewhat busy. I'll be going through classes as well so that could very well hold me back.

I like this idea, maybe I'll adopt it.

*peeks in* So...I've heard of NaNo for a few years now.......what's it like? O.o I'm trying to decide if I dare try it.... I like to write and keep trying to write a novel but I typically do one page (or three) short stories instead (I'm good at short stories for some reason), I'm also a very scattered and lazy writer I don't know if I could do something like this, but at the same time...I'm intrigued.

@Gwen: If you're interested, give it a try! You can set your own standards and limits. It's a good challenge to try.

@Rette: xD! Do you set daily goals?

I'm just hoping that this trip I have coming up will help me with references and plot bunnies because my characters have shut up and won't tell me their stories anymore.

I apparently intend to! ^-^ I'll be curious to see how I do. I keep telling myself I need to write more, and this seems like a good opportunity to get to it.
