A unicycle? Wow! That's pretty cool! Kids, today, wouldn't even know what a unicycle is! Lol!
I never could stay on a skateboard...and I tried a pogo stick once and just couldn't get the hang of it.
When I was very little I had a tricycle that had a wagon attached to the back....I crashed on it so hard one time it broke the handlebars off and it had to be welded back together.
One time when I was older and riding my bike fast with flip flops and one of the flip flops started to fall off so I looked down at my foot and the bike hit the curb and I crashed hard! I had road rash on my knees and my face!
Luckily the bike didn't get damaged badly and it wasn't long before I was back on it...with tennis shoes on! Lol!

Sorry Taiyo-san. Wrong person, apparently I was crazy when I wrote that post. But yeah that is no fun.
I used to search for cheap or free things my husband and I could do for dates. Honestly one of our favorites was just going for a drive and talking. We spent almost one whole afternoon just sitting at the park, out by this pond, just talking and cuddling and watching the ducks.

You'd think the mid-nineties would've been more miserable today than they were. But not going outside probably helped...XP

We just kept a fan going and the curtains pulled X'D. Would've been nice to open a window for a bit of fresh air, buuut there's no way to keep the windows up and the neighbors in the next building are freaking nuts. Apparently, they've also been stealing peoples' mail.
This is the same lady who lets her kids run wild and tease dogs and climb around on the front of our porch and leave their bikes laying around, and has at least half a dozen people living with her in a one-bedroom apartment. Which they never clean, so according to the landlord (owns both buildings) it's filty to the point of being unfit to live in.

Yeah its starting to get into the eighties and nineties here and my apartment holds onto the heat like crazy. Probably going to get my boyfriend to come over some time this week and help me put the AC in the window. My luck if I tried it on my own, I would drop it out the window and I don't think a two story fall is good for them. @ [email protected]

Stealing mail is a federal offense and having that many people living in a small apartment might be a health ordinance violation.
And, depending on where you live, harassing the dogs can be a crime.
Somebody should report her on all counts!
It was much cooler in Denver on Sunday...in the 80's instead of the 90's.
It's actually kinda chilly tonite!!

I wish it was chilly tonight >>;. Instead it's hot, and I have no intention of putting any air conditioners in my window till crazy lady and her brood are gone, because I'm not entirely sure if the air conditioner would still be there in the morning >>;.
And she is being kicked out. She's gonna have to be gone next month, which means not long. I haven't seen any signs of her moving yet soooo......

It was pretty cool, almost chilly, on Monday..I don't think we saw 70°F in Denver.
We had a storm with some hail and there were multiple tornadoes in Northeast Colorado.

Mr x was watching the Colorado game with giants and mentioned it was hailing there. Hot temp finally got to Cali and we were stifling in 90* heat.

I have a neighbor like that, minus the kids. When I first moved in she was supposed to be moving out soon. Then it sounded like a month or so ago that she would be moving and yet she is still hear.
I doubt anyone wants to climb up to the second floor to try and still my AC. But I just couldn't do it. Nearly got heat stroke just trying to get ready for work yesterday. My building is an old brick one and being on the second floor it holds heat like crazy. Which is great in the winter but sucks in the summer. And my poor cat is long haired so she was probably feeling it even worse than me.

Hey we are both doing good now. bedroom is chill enough I think I just saw a penguin waddle by. The other room are a little warmer but its a small apartment, so a little 5,000 BTU AC does fine.

Brick buildings are awful at collecting the heat and holding onto it.
If your place was a house of your own, I would tell you to spray the outside of the building with water when the sun goes down.
We used to do that to the brick house we lived in...its amazing the difference it can make in cooling a place down!
I kinda doubt a landlord would approve of you spraying an apartment building down though!

I am honestly not sure if he would care. Doesn't seem to care a whole lot about the place as long as he is getting his money. But that would also mean finding, or buying a hose, and figuring out where to hook it up. This building is so old I don't know if it would have something like that on the outside.
But he is starting to irritate me. My utilities are a part of my rent and we keep getting warnings, first last month and another this month, from the gas company threatening to shut off the gas if he doesn't pay. Or, as they are so happy to tell us, we can band together and pay it and subtract it from our rent. But excuse me for feeling like HE needs to get his act together and pay it since its his responsibility. Kind of makes me wonder what he is using my rent money for since the back due amount is NEARLY the amount of one month of my rent. And there are four other apartments in this building besides mine. (Sorry for the long rant guys. *blush*)

There may be a Renters Association in your area, or you could try calling the Department of Human Services and they may be able to steer you in the right direction to file a formal complaint against the guy. If you signed a lease saying that he was responsible for paying the gas bill and he takes your money and doesn't pay the gas bill, he is in violation of fraud.

I will have to look into that. Unfortunately I never signed or saw a lease on the place. Probably not a smart move on my part, but I was desperate and really needed a place.

Yeah...any honest landlord would not only give you a copy of the lease when asked for it, they'd be happy to give you one right out of the starting gate. That was one of the many reasons we moved from the old place; the landlady refused to give the people living in the other two apartments copies of their leases, and we suspect she'd been into the apartment mom and I had been living in at the time looking for ours. It was the reason mom started carrying our lease with her all of the time--when she left the apartment, so did the lease ^^. Perfect way to keep it from being stolen.

Okay so I was talking to one of the other tenants, who is also a friend, and he said the whole gas bill thing is a scam. He talked to the landlord and Sam has been paying his bill, in fact his wife had just paid it that day. So I guess I overreacted and probably should have talked to the landlord myself. Oh well, at least now I know.
