Nope, there is no way to find out. And like I have time to add anything else into my schedule? The next few weeks before I am gone for just about a month and I will not be back down here till 4 days before school starts again... so nope, that isn't an option either.

At this rate - I'm not holding my breath.

I honestly am not sure what my parent's have planned... we may be driving to Arizona for Christmas, depends on my brother's plans... and he doesn't even know what his plans are.

Cool, I love Arizona!! May I ask -- why are you going to Arizona? Is that where your family lives, or is from?

No. My brother goes to school in Arizona. I'm not a fan really of it but if we want to see him for Christmas we may have to go to him... I hate the drive there. :/

Oh! I see. I guess it is sort of a balance, between having to go on a long car ride and being able to spend the holiday with family. ^_^

Yeah, two day drive there... and we'd only be there for two or three days. :/ And then two day drive back home. *sighs* I really do hope that he can rearrange his schedule and come home... that'd make my back like me a bit better. Sitting for hours upon hours.... Ugh!

If he is able to rearrange his schedule and return home for the holidays, would he travel by car or plane? I guess by plane might be more expensive.

He would fly home - because he doesn't have the time to spare to spend four days traveling home and then back to Arizona. It's cheaper for us to fly him home than fly all three of us there, and then rent a car to drive to him....

He would probably only be home for a few days...

Ah, I see. It's the sacrifice that comes with having family in all different places. I have not personally experienced this type of long-distance separation for an extended period and have fortunately been able to spend all of my holidays with family without this long travel time.

What year is your brother in school? Will you have to do this whole traveling back and forth thing next year and in following years?

He's got three semesters after this one to go but he'll probably stay in Arizona after he graduates...
As he knows he'll have a job for sure teaching students to fly (like he's starting doing tomorrow).
So we will probably be doing this for quite a few years to come....

"Teaching students to fly" ~ that sentence made me smile for some reason. ^_^ I was imagining cute kids with wings like cherubs. (I like working with kids...so that was my imagination again ^_^;;). Is he studying aviation or education or some sort?

Oh no... Not little kids. He is in college. Not teaching children to fly. The students he will be teaching are all college students going to become heli pilots. So all 18 and over... In age.
He's an aeronautical science major - he's a helicopter pilot.
