Laurel grinned. Watching the numbers go up was amazing.
"That's kind of awesome," she said.

"Really awesome," Doreen agreed with a grin.
"However, people will soon be trying to figure out who you are," Coulson said, his hands in his pockets. "You won't be able to keep your anonymity for long."

"We'll make it work," Laurel said.
It took a couple of weeks, but the girls did gradually settle into the tower. Laurel still jumped a bit when a Roomba buzzed across her path, but she made friends with the coffee maker and the toaster, so all was well in her world.

Doreen had also settled in pretty well, and had even gotten used to the Roombas and Clint popping out of the vents at random intervals.
So when another fight broke out, although much more minor than the Chitauri, Doreen was ready to go take pictures and catch them in action for the blog.

Laurel was ready to live-blog the whole thing, and she'd set up camp at a nearby cafe. She attached herself to the wifi and opened up the wireless connection to Doreen's camera.
And here we are, followers, blogging at you live from downtown where the Avengers are taking care of business. We will be keeping you as up-to-date as possible on what's actually happening, in addition to what the news stations are telling you, and we'll cover as much of the aftermath as possible.

Doreen was busy taking pictures with her handy helper Roomba, who had very specific instructions not to let anything happen to her. Thus why Clint's special bullet-proof first-aid-kit-bearing Roomba was with her. She snapped another few photos for Laurel to look through before moving a little more out of the way.

Laurel sifted through the pictures quickly, choosing the best ones and uploading them as they got to her computer. She didn't even notice the person seated at the table behind her watching her screen over her shoulder.

After everything was done, Doreen got a few pictures of Captain America staying behind to help people out. Because he was that kind of guy and the PR was good.

Laurel pounced on the pictures of Captain America helping the cleanup and relief effort. The PR was excellent, especially when the pictures began to filter in including Tony, Clint, and Thor, as well.

Doreen managed to get pictures of everyone helping with the cleanup, grinning when she saw Tony helping to cart away the heavier pieces of building that normally would have required heavy machinery. And Thor stopping to greet a few kids. She may have taken a few extra photos of Thor just because, though.

The pictures were a goldmine of good PR, and Laurel pulled the best ones. The ones with Thor and the kids were especially good, and she used a couple of those. She made sure to use at least one picture of every Avenger, and a few that had more than one working together. She wanted to prove they were a team for more than just fighting.

By the time the Avengers were ready to head back, Doreen and her Roomba partner were ready too. Doreen headed back to where she'd left Laurel, tucking her camera away in its special bag and slinging it over her shoulder.

Laurel was already working on sifting through the notes that were flooding in on the blog. One in particular made her sit up and pay attention.
For someone working with the Avengers, your tech is really outdated. You should work on that, missy. And your caramel mocha is getting cold.
Laurel looked around the cafe, trying to be discreet about it, but she was still nervous. Someone must have seen her blogging, but who? Quickly, she sent a text to Doreen about it.

That made Doreen hurry up about getting back there.
"Alright, time to pack up and go," she muttered, glancing around the shop. "Come on." The Roomba had, fortunately, not gone inside with her, and she wasn't sure where it was hiding, since she didn't hear people shouting.

Laurel had already closed her laptop and was busy shoving it into her bag.
"Way ahead of you," she muttered back, slipping her phone into her pocket and grabbing her (indeed cold) mocha.

Doreen hustled out of Starbucks with her and headed back towards the tower, glancing around every so often to see if anyone was following them.
"So, what, someone was watching you work?" she said.

"I guess so," Laurel said. "I mean, most of what I was doing was picking through the pictures and putting them up, but I guess someone was sitting there long enough to know how long I was there. They even commented on my mocha getting cold."

"So it was someone sitting near you, probably behind you, close enough to see over your shoulder or move out of the way. And he or she knew what the blog was, to be able to recognize it." Doreen shook her head. "Well, shoot. I wonder if we should tell Coulson?"

"Right." Doreen pulled out her phone and dialed quickly, waiting for Coulson to pick up. She absently pulled Laurel back onto the correct route when Laurel almost detoured off to the wrong side of the road.

"Hey, Coulson, we had a little potential incident," Doreen said, glancing around. "Laurel had to set up in a Starbucks to keep up with the fight and someone was looking over her shoulder while she was posting and updating the blog."

"No, she didn't, she only noticed when she was going through the comments. Someone had commented on her laptop and said her drink was getting cold." Which was vaguely creepy and stalkerish.

Which meant that Laurel had likely been watched for some time before she noticed.
"Give me what information you can," Coulson said. "I'll take care of it. But keep in mind, this is probably the end of your total anonymity."
