"I figured." Doreen sighed. "Just so long as we don't have to do press conferences, I'm not ready for that yet."

"No, you shouldn't have to do press conferences," Coulson said. "More likely, it will be Tony in front of the press."

Doreen winced. "Well, it's better than us," she said. "Right, I'll send you all the information we have. We're just about back at the tower now. So we'll see you later?" She phrased it as a question because sometimes he liked to drop in for dinner and, occasionally, stay for movie night.

"Perhaps," Coulson replied. He couldn't guarantee he would be there, but it was a possibility.

"Alright. Thanks, Coulson." Doreen hung up and went straight back to the elevator that took them all the way up, swiping her entry card. "We're supposed to send Coulson all the information, so which Starbucks, where you were sitting, the link to the comment, all that stuff."

"Alright," Laurel said, nodding. Going over to one of the big couches, she sat down and quickly emailed all of the information to Coulson. "Hopefully he's able to do something."

"He said we likely won't have our anonymity anymore," Doreen warned. "So we should be prepared for that. But he might be able to figure out who saw you and maybe do some damage control so we can make an announcement who we are rather than press following us everywhere."

"Hopefully it'll work out," Laurel said. "Thank god I never put up selfies."

Doreen snorted and shook her head. "Well, when you're done with that, want to get check in with the team? It looked like everyone was fine, but I want to double-check."

Laurel nodded. She wanted to double-check as well. As soon as she was done emailing Coulson, she put her laptop down and stood up. "Let's go."

Doreen headed up to the main level, where she knew they were likely to congregate as soon as they were out of uniform. Sure enough, Bruce was checking everyone over, his hair even wilder than normal.

"There you two are," Tony said, his grin not quite normal. "Nice pictures of me, next time I'll flip up the facemask for you."

"We can worry about that later," Laurel said. "Everyone came back in more or less one piece?"

"Yeah, we're all fine," Tony said with a shrug. "Some minor bruises, a few scrapes, nothing to worry about."

"Good," Laurel said. "We came to check on you to give Coulson time to put the fear of SHIELD into the creeper who saw me at the cafe earlier."

"Yeah, I saw that," Tony said. "Jarvis told me once we were back."

"Wait, someone saw you?" Clint asked, looking at the girls. "Oh the poor bastard, Coulson's going to hunt him down now."

"Yeah, some creeper left an anonymous note on the blog commenting on my hardware and how long my mocha had been sitting there," Laurel said. "He had to have been there for a while to know how long I had been sitting there."

Clint shrugged, unconcerned. "Coulson will find him," he said. "And scare the crap out of him."

"Good," Laurel said. "For now, if anyone cares, I sifted through the pictures Doreen took, posted the best ones. Feel free to take a look."

"Or just look at all of them, Jarvis has them all stored," Tony said as he walked over to his bar, picking out a tumbler and pouring himself a generous glass.

"That takes the fun out of critiquing my choices," Laurel pointed out. She watched as everyone got settled on the couches. "I put the best positive spin on them that I could."

"So far the boards are taking things well, a few people have caught onto the creepy comment left, and news people are using your pictures," Tony reported as Jarvis filtered the information to him.

"Well, that's not so bad," Doreen said with cautious optimism, going to perch on the arm of the nearest couch.

"What are the responses to the creeper?" Laurel asked as she perched on the arm on the other side of the couch, between Thor on one side and Steve on the next chair. "Anything that might restore my faith in the general populace?"

"A few." Tony flicked the best ones up onto the main screen so they could see. Responses varied from "Wow that's really creepy, what the hell are you doing, dude?" to "Pics or it didn't happen" to "About time they told us who they are".

"That's... not encouraging," Steve commented as he read the notes. "People actually do this sort of thing to others nowadays?"

"Yup." Tony shook his head. "People are vultures, except for the few who don't care who you are and think you have the right to your privacy."
