Thor relaxed in increments as the movie went on, until he finally was settled in comfortably on the couch. He could see his teammates dropping off to sleep one by one, so he just kept an eye on things. He wasn't going to sleep that night, not with the worries he was still harboring.

After everyone else had dropped off to sleep, Doreen carefully got up and made her way into the kitchen, setting the kettle on to make some tea. It was always kind of nice to see how relaxed they all were around each other.

Thor watched her go into the kitchen, and got up to follow her.

"Are you unable to sleep as well?" he asked.

Doreen nodded. "Yeah. I usually have trouble sleeping anyway." She looked over at him. "Looks like we're the only two up."

"So it seems," Thor agreed. He leaned back against the counter a bit. "I find that sleep does not come easily to me, of late."

"Too many things on your mind?" Doreen nodded. "Yeah, I know the feeling. There's been a lot happening recently."

"Indeed," Thor replied. He sighed. "Many and more, it seems. Tensions are still high on Asgard, and even here I cannot seem to escape the concerns that still plague me."

"Troubles at home follow you wherever you go," Doreen said. "You sure you don't want to talk about it? Might help you some."

Thor was quiet for a moment, and then looked at her.

"You say you were there," he said. "Here in this city, when everything was falling to ruin at my brother's hand."

"That's right. We were here." Doreen looked at him for a few moments. "We saw most of what happened."

"There are many who rightfully hold a grudge against my brother for his actions," Thor continued. "Even amongst my comrades. Especially amongst them. And therein lies my trouble. I took this world under my protection, and I will uphold that promise. But I have also been given the task of overseeing my brother's exile."

Doreen was quiet for a moment. "Exile?" she asked quietly. "So is that where you vanished to earlier?"

"Indeed," Thor said. "My brother is banished, his magic bound, until such time as he atones for his crimes and makes amends. And I am to be his keeper."

"So he's here," Doreen said quietly. "I see how that could weigh pretty heavily on your mind."

"It does," Thor agreed. "Very much so." He heaved a sigh, but didn't say anything more.

"Have some tea," Doreen advised. "Might as well sit and see if you can relax for a little while."

"Thank you for the offer, fair lady, but I must decline," Thor replied. "Tea is not usually to my taste." He was quiet for a moment. "However, my brother tends to enjoy it."

"Ah. Would you like me to set some aside for him?" Doreen asked with a faint smile. "Or not this time?"

Thor hesitated.

"Perhaps some tea would not go amiss," he said. "It may help him settle a little more."

Doreen nodded. "I have a brother," she said, glancing at him as she finished making the tea and poured two mugs. "He's older than me by a few years."

"I am the elder, between Loki and I," Thor said. "Although the difference in our ages has always been negligible." He looked at her. "Do you resent your brother for being the elder?"

"Not usually." Doreen shrugged. "But I also haven't seen my brother for three years. When I was younger I didn't like him very much, and he didn't like me. We argued a lot."

"I see," Thor said. "Loki and I... we were close, as boys. I wish I knew what caused him to do what he did."

"Brothers are odd," Doreen agreed, patting his arm. Then she set the tea on a tray, along with a little saucer of milk and some sugar on the side. "There, all ready for him whenever you want to take it over."

"My thanks," Thor said, nodding. "You are most generous." Carefully, he picked up the tray.
