"I'm not complaining about that," Laurel said. "You can look after the blog for a while, if you want. Something to keep you busy."

"Sure, might as well," Doreen said with a shrug.

"Go for it," Laurel said. She grinned. "See what you can do to head off the rumor mill, since apparently our blog is now law."

Doreen snickered. "I'll see what I can do about it after dinner. God wrangling is hungry work."

"I bet," Laurel said, grinning. "Bruce and Clint are cooking, it smells like something spicy and savory."

"It smells amazing," Doreen agreed. "I'm going to go see if it's close to being done." That being said, she headed into the kitchen.

Laurel nodded and let her go.

The kitchen was practically a circus. Clint was bouncing around like a hyperactive squirrel, tossing knives and ingredients around. Bruce was far more calm, standing at the stove and working on something in a pan.

"How are you two not killing each other?" Doreen asked as she watched them in amazement. "Really, this is worse than when I cook."

"Bruce is the most zen guy on the face of the planet," Clint said, grinning as another knife made it to the counter.

"Yeah, but zen or not, you're throwing knives around," Doreen pointed out. "And throwing knives in a kitchen is generally a bad idea."

"We're fine, don't worry," Clint replied. "Just relax. I know what I'm doing."

"If you say so. I'm going to record this for future reference and amusement." Doreen grinned.

Clint snorted.

"Knock yourself out," he said, grinning and flipping another knife. It landed neatly in the sink.

Doreen grinned and watched the rest of the show. And then she handed Clint a five dollar bill.

"Tip for the entertainment of the night."

"Hey, cool, cash," Clint said, grinning and taking the five. He gave a theatrical bow.

Doreen snickered. "Okay, I might be hanging out every time you cook, because that's just way too much fun."

Clint grinned.

"I might be able to teach you," he said. "I used to know a knife-thrower or two, what's where I learned."

"I dunno, you trust me with knives?" Doreen asked with a grin. "That could be a phenomenally bad idea."

Clint shrugged.

"Everyone's gotta start somewhere," he pointed out. He grinned. "Though I could give you to Tasha first, if you want."

Doreen shrugged. "Eh, if you're fine with teaching me, we'll not press my luck with Natasha."

Clint nearly cackled.

"Yeah, everyone thinks that," he said. "I don't get how she's so scary as a teacher."

"Her humor is more subtle and usually connected to someone being in pain," Doreen pointed out. "And if she was teaching me, she'd probably be laughing at my pain. It's all fun when we're laughing at Tony, but when it's me? Nope. I'll pass."

"Nah, Nat's not like that when she's got real students," Clint said. "Tony just needs to be taken down a peg or two sometimes. She's nicer to normal people."

"Sleepover nights are fun," Doreen agreed with a grin. "I'm actually kind of surprised, I figured she'd be the hardest to get along with."

"Nah, you just need to know her a bit," Clint said. "She doesn't like fools, they piss her off, and missions are another thing entirely."
