Steve watched the two for a bit longer before he went to sit next to Laurel and go through the pictures with her, because that was kind of fun.

Laurel glanced over and opened the folder with the pictures she'd specially sorted out. Each and every one had an Avenger (or several) with funny expressions on their faces, caught in the middle of battle.

Steve snorted at some of them. "I think she likes torturing us in small ways," he said dryly, "considering she takes all these pictures of us. Especially when we're eating, or on movie night."

"They make you all seem more normal," Laurel said as she sorted the pictures by featured Avenger. She grinned. "And, lucky for us, we have Jarvis to supply things like this." She opened one file that turned out to be Tony's face in darkness; it was clearly a picture from inside the helmet. Tony was making a disgusted face, although Laurel had no idea what he had been looking at at the time.

Steve snorted. "That's a good one," he agreed. "Between Doreen and Jarvis, we have endless entertainment."

"An unholy alliance," Laurel agreed, grinning. She smirked and pulled up one of him, where his face seemed to be contorted into an expression somewhere between irritation and strain. "And then there are gems like this."

Steve couldn't help but chuckle. "As long as someone catches up and gets just as many terrible pictures of Bucky, I'm okay with this."

"Give it a couple skirmishes, the pictures will accumulate," Laurel said, grinning. "He'll get his own folder, same as the rest of you."

"Good." Steve grinned. He was planning to see if he couldn't push Bucky into going on a date, even. That would be good for him.

Laurel grinned back and flipped through a few more pictures before stretching and closing out of the folder. Time to stop for a while.

Steve got up and stretched as well before he went to go join Bucky and see if he couldn't persuade Bucky to do something more than just look.

It worked in their favor that Thor had brought some truly spectacular mead back from his last trip to Asgard. Bucky wasn't sure where it was stashed, but Steve seemed to know, and they ended up with the bottle open between them on the kitchen table late that night.

Steve still had to try to get drunk, which he wasn't trying for yet. But he was feeling a nice pleasant sort of buzz.

"So, you seemed to be having fun with Doreen earlier." He grinned at Bucky.

"She's a fun dame," Bucky replied, shrugging. The mead was loosening him up a bit quicker than it was Steve, and he was already buzzed.

"Yeah, she is. She cooks really well too." Steve grinned. "Seems like you two get along really well."

"'M surprised we do," Bucky admitted after a second or two. "Thought she'd'a been scared of me like everyone else was."

"She's never been scared of you," Steve pointed out with a chuckle. "She's good for you, Buck."

"'M no good for her, though," Bucky replied. "Gotta admit that one, Stevie, I'm no good for her now."

Steve shook his head. "You are," he said. "You defended her." He was quiet for a moment. "Besides, you let her fuss over you."

"Feels good to be fussed over sometimes," Bucky said quietly. "Knowing someone cares what happens to you. Didn't get a lot of that after... after."

"I know." Steve was quiet for a moment. "You know what you should do? To pay her back for all the food and fussing." He grinned, finishing off his drink.

"Not much I can do," Bucky pointed out as he drank more of his glass. It wasn't quite empty yet. "Honestly, Stevie, what's a guy with a missing arm got to offer a dame like her?"

"A date," Steve answered promptly, pouring himself a little more. "Maybe even a dance." Because he still didn't know how dates went in this time, but Bucky had always loved dancing.

Bucky looking at Steve for a minute or so before snorting.

"A date?" he said. "Come on, Stevie, you think she'd want to go out dancing with a guy like me? Hell, you think anywhere would actually let me in? Last I checked, the city really didn't like me much."

Steve shrugged. "We could figure something out," he said. "And you won't know until you ask, Buck. She might say yes. You haven't seen the looks she's given you, clearly."
