In other news, I've hit a gaming wall.

Oh, really? I've got the game but I've barely started. Been too busy. I was just going by the general look and the fact that it has a higher quality render, so I assumed it happened later.

Yush~ I'm on Mission 4 (but I already completed Mission 5 because you don't have to do them in order) Day 9 I believe.
It's a great garb. Because it comes with fira and at that point in the game nearly everything is weak to fire haha. I didn't unequip it for a long time.
I hope you get time to play it soon. This is by far my favorite version of FFXIII. (much better then one and two).

To be fair to him, that is kind of an integral part of the combat in Lightning Returns.

Oh, cool. I didn't realize I get stuff for using a XIII and XIII-2 save as well, so I need to go back and start again to get those. Just from the Demo and what i've played so far of the game, it's definitely much better than the first two.

XIII-2 was what I like to refer to as time-f***y. Could have taken place in an alternate universe and it still would have made about as much sense.
How did you feel about the gameplay in the original?

I agree with the general consensus that yes, it's linear -- but other than that, it's not bad, overall.
Now, if I could only take out one of those stupid-xbox-hueg elephant things on the Calm Plai^H^H^H^H^H^Archlyte Steppe...

Yeah * u * Bonus extra stuff! I actually don't use them though. xD You get way better garbs much faster. I actually just buy a bunch of them but I've only used like 10 so far.

xD I like the idea of the first one and the general idea of the storyline but I felt like they really dropped the ball on some places. Like the storyline was really choppy and confusing like crazy. (And really I play for the storyline and graphics. I can adjust to any battle system and 100% completion is not for me.). Two was 'eh' for me.
In that regard, the storyline for Lightning Returns is shaping up to be MUCH better. Like it flows a lot better and I'm a lot more interested in how it's going to end.

It is. Lightning Returns hits somewhere between Kingdom Hearts, FFX-2 and XIII for a nice combat system. It's quite fun.
All Saboteur. Vanille summon, Spam death. Hope you win.

Hey, anything helps at the start of a game. I've only got the two Default ones at the moment.
It's shaping up to be better? From where I'm up to, I can't tell if they've just taken to renaming all the stuff I already know, whether it's new stuff or if I'm just stupid and forgot the names of it all.
