I don't like taking pictures myself.
I'd rather paint them.
Well, if I was good enough.

I like drawing with my tablet, but I still do a few drawings on paper and scan them.

What?
I can draw digitally, it's just irritating. I like the feel of pencil and paper.
So I draw it traditionally, ink it, then colour on the comp.
Like this one:

Edit: I have to say, I'm getting better at drawing feet!
xDD

Thing is, for me, with photography, is that I'm totally self taught. You are only as good as you let yourself be. If you want to get better, just go out and take more. For every 100 that I take, I probably delete over half of them. (never fully paid attention to exactly how many I delete, but it's quite a few. I'm REALLY picky about my photos.) I feel like at times people see my photos and just assume that all of them are amazing every time... Oh, definitely not. >.< I have plenty of crap ones that I've taken and gotten rid of. Thank goodness for digital. xD

that is a cute one.
I've never tried the inking.
I wanted to, but then I tried the digital art stuff.
I never had the right pencils to actually color.

Tracing over a drawing in Paint is my equivalent of inking it. Much less dangerous. I have Photoshop, but not the motivation to install it.

As far as I know,
or so I've heard,
you also need a lot of patience for photography.
And take a lot of pictures and filter out the gems.

I wish I had photoshop.
I need it for school.
But the cloud stuff is just way too expensive.

Just get it over with and learn how to ink traditionally.
Trust me, you'll love it.
I use inking pens, because dealing with a calligraphy pen is irritating.

That is something that I agree with 110%, but you never know when you will get an amazing one that will last forever! I got a wonderful shot of my parents in Tahoe on my mom's birthday last year, that I'm still not totally sure how I managed to pull off. They're in black and white, silhouetted, but the sky is in color, but muted as the sunset was starting to fade. :]

I have had people tell me that I should take photography classes, but no, I will not do that as the last time I took something that I saw as a hobby and took classes for it, I nearly ruined my love of it. I will not do that to myself with my photography.

I delete lots of things once I can redraw them better.

I got a Photoshop CD included with my tablet,

Ink and I can't be friends. Ink is into commitment. I might change my mind two weeks later.

That is the reason I never went to art classes.
You can either find your own rythm, your own way of things or do it as they teach you. It depends on the person.

Hahaha, it's PiM!
xDD
But P!M works too.
Oh yeah, they do!
I took a picture of a butterfly that was outside from our kitchen.
It came out wonderful. I'm sure the kind of camera was helpful, lol.

Plus for me, I just hate being told what to do. >.< You push me the wrong way, I will push back and refuse to do whatever it is that you're telling me. And I know that is what is going to happen if I ever take any photography classes.

Oh, sorry! For some reason my brain was just hiding the i? *shrugs* *lol* Even then my phone would still not like it. My phone picks weird things to decide to not like.
That's awesome! :]
I'm trying to find that one of my parents I was talking about... I may have to dive into their iPhoto, I know it's there... it'd be easier for me to find it on my computer, but I do know I put it on my parent's computer - the computer I'm currently on is my parents.

I just get a set of inking pens from Staples. They are fairly cheap.
Or you can go to an art store and get the Prismacolor ones that are a little more expensive, but worth it.
I didn't take classes, but I just experimented. I drew a quick drawing, then to try out different inking styles, just attacked it.

Another problem I have with ink: my lines are wobbly and gross.

I like attacking.
I will attempt to try inking once I have more time to breathe.

and you don't need to speed through the inking.

And this is what I'm currently drawing.
Just started, so it's not much.
