There are only five babies, and I did have another aide, but she just sits there and directs. And I'm like...the kid is RUNNING OUT THE DOOR. You can't just SIT there and yell at them, you have to GO GET THE KID! And I'm sitting there holding another one in time out because they decided that time out meant biting time. When the other aid is there, they NEVER act up like that. I mean, there are always a couple of challenging moments, but nobody pees all over the floor and then plays in it, or runs out of the room, or bites.

Makes me wonder how some people gets jobs like that when they clearly don't want to be there. You can only do so much on your own before it gets insane, and especially while sick! *hugs* Just one more day, right?

there are some school districts that will not allow the aids to disaplin the students or touch them for fear of lawsuit.

Nobody else really wants the job. It's hard and it doesn't pay well.

Yeah, that is NOT our school district. And the special ed kids all have some form of physical correction. I mean, obviously, they're never hit or anything like that, but there is a fair amount of physically removing them from harm or preventing them from doing something that is really not okay.

*sigh* I just want to go back to high school. There are only two teachers whose elementary classes I will sub for. They're personal friends, and they both sub for the same school in the worst part of town on the complete other side of the city, so NO ONE ever subs for them. But high school, I have to be there at eight in the morning. So nice. Some of these elementary kids show up at 7:20 in the morning. Blaaaah. *sigh*

which means you have to be there by 7 to be ready. I sorry for you.
