I think it was a disaster, they didn't handle the situation well. Businesses & schools were all sending people home at the same time. I guess the storm had already started & things just went bad from there. At least here things were handled fairly well. The major highways & roads got salted & cleared pretty quick, but there are still some areas that are terrible. I've been having to take another route home to avoid one of the worse roads, it has lots of curves & hills. I just don't think it is safe to travel that part of it. I still have to travel part of it & that part isn't real good, but at least it is passable when icy & even if something did happen in that part I could always walk home from there.
The area I live in only get a major snow storm every 2 or 3 years so usually they have no idea how to deal with it.

Travelling on icy roads must be scary. Even walking home though would be dangerous due to the cold and other vehicles. It must be such a crazy time!

Miscreant said he thinks he still has some in the building when he was in. Of course no one can wear them because he had a 30 inch waist back then.

I was sort of a mess today. My thermals wouldn't stay up & then the only sweat pants I could find to wear over them were to big & the drawstring broke. If I had of had the option I would of just went back to bed & try to start the day over.

I was a little too young to be able to quote Buffy. *shrug* I did watch it, though! o3o
I'm terrified of fire. When restaurants have a big window so you can see into the kitchen and see fire shoot up as the cooks cook stuff, I don't like that.
At the Chinese restaurant my family goes to, there's a "volcano" you can order where you get a big bowl (with slots in it with meat, pineapple slices, and some other stuff) that literally has a pot of fire in the center. The fire's so hot it's blue, and my family seems to take joy in scaring me to the point of leaving the table by leaving beef strings on top of the pot for so long that flames start to come up through the lid.

I loved watching Buffy & Angel. I miss those shows.

Spanish sounds so hard once you get past year two. I'd always hear the Spanish kids talking to their teachers in Spanish no matter what, and that would get on my nerves if I had to do that. @[email protected] You don't have to talk much in Latin for obvious reasons.

Unfortunately I didn't have any safety pins when the draw string broke. I just had to keep pulling them up all day. At least I had enough sense to wear some shorts over the thermals to help keep them up, so at least I would of been completely exposed if anything had happened.
The sweat pants have always been a little bit to big, but they worked well for layering clothes.

Oh it's not far from my apartment (like a 4 minute walk depending on how fast I walk) but it's out of the way from campu and if closes before I get back to the dorms because of how late classes run. :)
