To be fair, you guys have had the worst luck with introduced species. You tend to start getting a little crazy about your native animals when EVERYTHING that's introduced tries to murder them. Between rabbits and cane toads, it's amazing how many of y'all's natives AREN'T endangered.
I'm just animal crazy in general. :)

Of course we'd like to keep them native and try not to introduce any others but we weren't actually taught about many other animals.

That's why you have ME! Haha. I'll tell you more about every animal on the continent than you ever wanted to know!

You're like a walking animal encyclopaedia. I have a pretty good knowledge base now due to the internet and some books but it's such a bummer we couldn't learn more in school.

Its suddenly gotten humid and apparently I'm expected to have cleaned some of my room before my mum gets home. hahaha.

I decided I have to have my cat put down. I am bawling my eyes out, and my bf says: "Why are you crying? It's just a cat."
I have had her for 20 years; I can barely remember a life without her.

OH NO!!!!! what was wrong with her? or was it just old age? at least she lived a good long happy life. I know what it is like to have to put down a best friend like that.

My parents divorced when I was young. I had to move schools almost every year. I was never in one place long enough to make close friends, but I always had Nikki. I know it sounds weird, but I love her more than I have ever loved a pet.
She will be 21 this year. She has bad hips, and last night I noticed one of her legs is turned so far inward, she can hardly stand or walk. She has been 'leaking' urine for a few years now, and it seemed like it was a bit pink today (as if there were a bit of blood). She cries a lot, and is completely deaf. She is a very happy kitty still, but I know she has to be in pain.

I understand your want to keep her around. I used to move around alot too as my dad was in the navy and we kept our cat with us until we had to move into a house that could not have cats. he was 13 years old when last I had seen him. I wish I could be there for you. losing a cat can rip your heart out.

awwwww. she was a beauty. I was worryed we would lose our older cat when her younger sister had to be put down because she would not eat this last Christmas.

I am so sorry Roxxxy. It must be such a hard time for you and would have been such a hard decision to make, losing something so close to you is not easy. It really sounds like you loved her to bits.

I haven't done it yet; it will be this wknd, or early next week. I want my mother to come down and be with me when I take Nikki in. You're never too old to need your mommy!

other then getting grumpy at my little boy she is doing well. I think that if he had not been here to keep her moving she would have given it up. she had started to starve her self but now she is very protective of her food from him.

Oh my! I'm glad she is feeling better. I have never heard of that behavior from a cat before.

some times when cats are raised together they become really close and will suicide when one of them dies.

I feel a bit better now. I was in the middle of researching this paper, when it kind of seemed to hit me out of nowhere, that I was finally ready to say goodbye.
