Sherlock had made himself comfortable in the chair across from her, contemplating one of the old coins he kept on him most of the time. He did look over when he saw John, though.

"Have a good time?" Bree asked as she came in, pulling off her shawl and setting it aside with her purse.

Charlotte looked up from her book and blinked once.

"All was quiet," she replied. She glanced at Sherlock and back. "How was your... date?"

John habitually gave Sherlock a once-over when he saw the dragon, and then raised an eyebrow in silent question about how the night evening had gone.

"Good. Fun." Bree smiled. "Looks like you two didn't have any problems."

Sherlock nodded a bit. He was fine, the evening had been fine. Nothing for John to worry about.

"Not at all," Charlotte replied.

John nodded in response. He was glad everything had gone well.

"Very good." Bree smiled and toed her shoes off, looking over at John. "Would you like to stay for some coffee? Or tea?"

"Only if it's not any trouble," John said. "I wouldn't want to impose."

"Not at all, I was thinking of putting the kettle on anyway," Bree said with a smile, heading back into the kitchen. "Go ahead and make yourself comfortable."

"I can give you a hand, if you like," John offered as Bree disappeared into the kitchen.

"Sure," Bree agreed after a moment. "Cups are in the cabinet behind me." She made a vague motion back there.

Sherlock looked at Charlotte and raised an eyebrow. That was courtship behavior, for sure. He wasn't sure how Charlotte felt about her human getting attached to another human.

John nodded and went to fetch the cups. He found a pair of mugs and pulled them out, setting them on the counter.

Charlotte wasn't even sure how Charlotte felt about her human being courted. It was an entirely new situation and she wasn't sure she liked it. She huffed a bit, and a puff of steam rolled from her.

Bree let the water heat up before she pulled over her tea pot and poured the water in.

"I hope you don't mind an oolong instead of a black," she said, glancing back at him. "I've been on a kick for the last couple days."

Sherlock watched, his eyes bright. Normally relationships wouldn't interest him, but this was the first and only other dragon-human pair he'd met, and he was curious.

"That's fine," John said. "I don't mind trying new kinds of tea."

Charlotte scowled and sat back down in her chair, wedging herself into one of its corners. She very much Did Not Like the thought of sharing Bree with someone else indefinitely.

Bree shot him a grin and waited for the tea to steep before pouring two cups for them. "Let me know what you think. I've got milk and sugar and all that too."

Sherlock shifted his attention to the other two, listening to them. He wanted to know if John was really serious about staying with her, or if this one would be more like the previous girlfriends.

"I'm sure it'll be fine," John said, accepting a cup from her. He waited for the tea to cool slightly (although having Sherlock as a companion had forced him to get used to very hot tea) and then took a sip. He smiled at Bree. "It's wonderful."

Bree beamed at him. "I'm glad you like it," she said, fixing her own cup before taking a sip. Just the way she liked.

That just made Charlotte sulk more, and she scowled at the fireplace.

Sherlock raised an eyebrow at her but didn't say anything. Instead he stayed for a few minutes, giving John enough time to drink his tea (probably), before he meandered into the kitchen to give his partner a Look.

John saw the Look and sighed.

"Yes, alright, Sherlock, I'm coming," he said, finishing the last of his tea and standing up. He looked at Bree. "It was lovely to have dinner with you again, and than you very much for the tea. It seems I have to head out to keep Sherlock relatively content." He smiled at her. "I'll call you later, yeah?"

"Sure." Bree smiled. "Thanks for dinner, it was great. Give me a call whenever you've got time." She walked him and Sherlock to the door, shutting it gently behind them.

Sherlock stuffed his hands in his pockets as they started walking back towards their flat.

John nodded and then started walking with Sherlock.

"Suddenly so eager to head home?" he asked.

Charlotte was still pouting in her chair, steaming just slightly. She was a bit less unhappy now that John was gone, but she still wasn't pleased.

Sherlock shrugged. "Things may not be going so well now," was all he said.

Bree turned to head back into the kitchen and blinked when she saw Charlotte pouting and steaming. To ask or give her until tomorrow to cool off?

John paused and considered that for a moment.

"How so?" he asked. He didn't deny that Sherlock was right, because the dragon probably was, so he just wanted to know what he'd missed.

Charlotte didn't say anything, just turning over a random gem in her fingers for a bit.

"I doubt Charlotte is happy to be sharing Bree," Sherlock said. "She was steaming." As well as several other signs but John didn't need to know all of them.

Bree was quiet for a moment before she shook herself. "I'm going to go shower and open up the windows for a bit," she said.

"Really?" John said. "But she hasn't had a problem with it before now."

Charlotte nodded in acknowledgement.

"Alright," she said.

"Perhaps it took her longer to realize this had the potential to be more permanent," Sherlock said.

Bree opened up a few windows to air out the flat before she went to go take her shower, emerging damp but smelling like her normal self again.
