I think so. I'll let him know her preferences if he actually decides to give her anything. Right now, he's trying to decide if we're making a trip out to his hoard. John couldn't help but grin a bit at that. This was the first time anyone aside from John had even interested Sherlock at all, let alone such an intense interest.

Ah yes, Charlotte is thinking if she wants to go out to the country for a few days, Bree said with a fond smile. To look at things.

Wouldn't it be ironic if they happened to meet out there? John couldn't help but chuckle a bit at that.

It would. And yet somehow so perfect. Bree grinned. We could probably nudge them in the right direction, even.

I think we should give Sherlock a bit of time to act, first. Then see how Charlotte reacts. I'd rather not make a pair of fire-breathers testy with us. And, to be honest, John wanted to see what Sherlock would end up doing on his own.

Probably a good idea. I'll keep you updated on when we're leaving anyway, just in case. Bree couldn't help but smile. And maybe once we're all in the same area again we can have tea?

That sounds lovely. John smiled as well. I'll let you know if or when Sherlock decides we need to go.

Alright. Good luck. Bree set her phone down and went back to watching Charlotte play with sparkly things by the fireplace.

For the moment, Charlotte was content to stay settled between Bree and the fireplace. She was, however, contemplating a trip out to her cave for a while. She wanted to get away and, yes, she wanted to have Bree to herself for a while longer.

"You look like you're contemplating something," Bree said, leaning back in her chair.

"Possibly," Charlotte replied, stretching a bit and basking in front of the fireplace. She glanced at Bree. "Perhaps we could spend a few days out in the country?"

"Sure, I wouldn't mind," Bree agreed. "It'll be nice to get out for a few days." She stretched a bit.

"Tomorrow?" Charlotte said. That would give Bree enough time to pack for a few days, she hoped.

"I can swing tomorrow," Bree agreed after a moment. "I'll just have to pack up and make sure there's nothing on the schedule. There shouldn't be, I just have to check."

Charlotte nodded. She figured that would be the case.

"Let me know when you are ready," she said.

Bree nodded and went to go pack up a bag and make sure leaving for a few days wouldn't interfere with anything else.

Charlotte waited patiently for Bree. She was idly playing with some shinies when the day's mail was dropped through the slot. Getting up, Charlotte went to pick it up. She flicked through it absently, and paused when she came across an envelope with the official dragon handler seal on it. That was odd. They didn't usually get correspondence from the ones in charge of dragon and handler pairs.

"Bree?" she called.

"Yeah?" Bree emerged from her room, blinking. She walked over and looked at the envelope for a moment. "Huh. I doubt it'll be anything immediate, probably just want a check in or something."

"Would it be best to open it now?" Charlotte asked. "Rather than wait and have it turn out to be important?"

"Yeah, I'll check it and see what it says," Bree said. Although she doubted it was just a check in. She hoped it was, but she doubted it. She moved into the kitchen to get her letter opener, since they tended to use heavy paper rather than the regular stuff, and she read through the letter quickly.

"Nothing to worry about until after we get back," she said, though she wasn't pleased. "I'll take care of it later."

"What is it?" Charlotte asked, curious. The abrupt change in Bree's mood was obvious. "What did it say?"

"Nothing to worry about right now," Bree said, putting the letter away and tucking it in her pocket before filling up the kettle. "It's administrative stuff that I don't even want to think about right now."

"As long as you're certain..." Charlotte said, watching her partner. "What sort of tea are you making today?"

"Not sure yet, just felt like tea. I'm fine with whatever, so if you want to make enough for both of us you can pick." Bree shrugged and went back to packing up and making sure she had everything.

Charlotte contemplated their tea selection for a moment.

"Something spiced?" she suggested.
