"You two get to figure that out," Bree said with a snort. "I'm feeling distinctly too soft and squishy to try and babysit a baby dragon that hasn't learned manners yet."

Charlotte snorted softly.

"We will handle it," she said. "Don't worry. We will begin to teach her soon."

"Good. Looks like we should be all set for a while, then." She smiled, pleased.

Charlotte nodded and laid her head down near Bree.

John had gone over to settle by Sherlock.

"You seem pleased," he commented to the dragon. "Glad the little one is hatched, I take it?"

Bree just settled in to lavish Charlotte with some love and attention.

"Indeed," Sherlock agreed quietly. "I am pleased she is healthy and all is well."

"I don't think I've ever seen a dragon with quite her coloring before," John commented. He grinned a bit. "If we end up coming across three others similar at some point, we'll know whose they are."

"Yes we will." Sherlock sounded smug. "I would not mind if we did come across them later."

"There's a chance we will," John reasoned. "After all, I doubt they'd be sent overseas or anything."

"It would be difficult to send them overseas," Sherlock agreed. He looked rather pleased at the prospect that he might be able to see his other children sometime.

"Right," John said. "Far more likely that they'll be kept close. And if Alexandra has hatched, likely the other three have already as well. Her egg was the smallest, after all, and the one most likely to take the longest to hatch."

"So the others have likely already hatched," Sherlock agreed. "And they are being taught now."

John nodded.

"I could probably make a few inquiries," he offered. "I need to remind the ones in charge to waive your breeding duty, since it's taken care of, so I can probably ask where the other three eggs ended up."

"If it's not too much trouble," Sherlock said hopefully, looking at John. He definitely would like to know now.

"I'll see what I can do," John promised. "I can't guarantee it will be much, but I'll try."

Sherlock nodded and nudged John before settling down there.

John just smiled and scratched Sherlock's head a bit.

"You should probably go out hunting," he said after a little while. "Never know when the little one will wake up."

"I won't be long," Sherlock said, moving and heading out of the cave to go find something suitable.

John nodded and went to see if Charlotte would let him close enough to sit with Bree while Sherlock was gone.

Bree looked up at him and grinned. "Everything go well with him?" she asked, scooting over a bit to give him some room.

"Everything is fine," John said as he settled down. "He's gone out hunting right now. And I promised to look into where the other eggs ended up. They've all likely hatched by now."

"Should be," Bree agreed. "It'll be interesting to see what you turn up about them."

"Yes it will," John agreed, putting an arm around her waist.

Bree settled in with him, leaning against him a little without even thinking about it. The two had been getting more comfortable around each other in the past months.

Charlotte noticed and huffed a bit, but settled down quickly enough. She was careful not to wake Alexandra, however; she didn't want the little one to wake before Sherlock got back with a kill.

It didn't take Sherlock long to return, and he settled down near the nest. There would be some leftover from the kill, but that was normal. He figured Charlotte could have a snack.
