Chexala, there were some other suggestions for a choose your own adventure game, so I think we should definitely consider it. We'd have to get people who were really adept at keeping track of stuff to run it, but I think it's a great idea.

I just got done with my 250 game gold for both my main and muley. :)

So I was talking with someone who was involved in the event last year, and she said that the two things that took longest were the theme-- of course-- and the color scheme, which surprised me. Maybe while we're waiting to vote, we should come up with some color scheme ideas for each theme? If we come up with a couple of schemes for each theme, that will save us time in the future that we could be using to make more solid plans!

Or perhaps, to make it more streamlined, the creator of each theme should come up with a color scheme, and then people could add alternate suggestions? I'll start with mine!

Desert Winds Caravan: Black, red, sand, gold, all shades of brown.

I was just thinking about colors for the Desert Winds theme also. I was thinking brown, gold, blue, and purple.

Very good idea, Wyrm! Colors are a big thing IMO. For decorating purposes- banners, font colors, artists, etc. Plus hosts / helpers like to plan avatars to wear during the event, and some stick to the color scheme. Also, sometimes the colors are featured some way in the main sticky avatar contest.

I think trying to come up with come color combos now rather than later is good

But when the vote comes up (internally and the public poll), we should vote for the theme ONLY. Not the theme and the color scheme. Because once we do have the theme set, people might suggest more color schemes. Which should be kept track of and then voted on. However, I don't think it will need to take as much time. We should try to make it a shorter process.

I have to get off for my second job. But when I get
back, I'd love to try and think up come combos!

Desert Winds Caravan - gold, brown, royal purple
Pirates - atlantis, gray, light blue - mostly because i'm thinking of the ghost ship part
Deep Sea - yellow, blues, orange/red
SUPERHEROES - red, yellow, blue
Tea Party - emerald, purple, yellow

Menewshan Magic Academy - based on the 'houses'

I agree, I think we shouldn't worry about finalizing color scheme until after we've selected a theme, but having the ideas will make things easier when that time comes. :)

I'm willing to be overridden with purple instead of red and ditching the black. I just came up with my list by doing an image search for 'Arabian Nights' and picking the colors that seemed to come up in the most pictures.

And I'll get back through in a while and start adding color ideas to the themes, perhaps-- or maybe as a separate spoiler, so there will be less to read when people look at the themes for voting?

i would right down all suggestions. just like... list colors suggested. Than wheen theme is picked thats when we narrow it down to exact combinations

Yes definitely we shouldn't take as much time to decide colour schemes, it's not going to be something that we are going to disagree on immensely i recon. And some of the colour schemes are established in the real world, in films or T.V and those colours people kind of expect already. Some are just naturally right like sands, browns and gold for Arabian

Personally I am not a fan of red, but you are right, it is a major color that comes up when I do image searches. And black is always a nice neutral or detail color to have around.

the accent colors we can just approve for tiny bits of. They don't need to be part of the main color scheme. Kind of like what the avatar contests during events have been like as of late.

Thanks! So nice to have that out of the way. Her parents will have to help her put the board together, but we did all the experiments and wrote up the information. The experiment itself was fun, but I really hate writing things up.

I agree about the color schemes, BrotherOfDarkness, although we should implement something new in each theme, especially for the avatar contest. :)

Like, in the Fae Masquarade, the avatar contest was against blacks and stuff like that. Kind of unexpected, but nice twist.

We really have slowed down in this thread, not slow but compared to our brain storm outburst! Whatever our collectible idea comes down to it HAS to be something cute right lol? Little teddy bears, flowers or even if it's stars you got to put faces on them?!
